Yesterday I was told to bring my Car in for repairs today [Thursday~12/21/23]. ALLSTATE arranged a loaner. When we arrived from Manhattan (Will County, IL) the Bldg was empty. I called the number to VISSER'S and was told it is a different Company and now located on Harlem Ave. I was told that I could not leave my Car there for repairs; come back after two (2) Months. Why didn't Emily tell me that a day before when we communicated via telephone? Great Inconvenience and I'm stuck with a $55 a day Loaner that ALLSTATE is not going to pay for. I wasn't going to leave my Mercedes there anyway that was bought new (and Customized in West Germany) that I only have 8,000 miles on today. I don't know these people or Facility. I've trusted VISSER'S for over 25 years with over 25 different Make/Model repairs on my Car Collection. CDE has POOR COMMUNICATION Skills. I'm not qualified to comment on the quality of their work. I called and explained that I had a P052E code related to the PCV valve/intake assembly. After I gave him the make, model, and year of my vehicle, Ronnie suggested I contact the dealership first to check if the repair might still be covered under warranty. I really appreciated how thoughtful and honest that was--he easily could have had me come in and pay out of pocket. I followed his advice, and sure enough, the repair was fully covered under warranty. I was extremely grateful for that. I do have a few other repairs that need to be done, and I will definitely be going back to Ronnie for those instead of the dealership. That will be a first for me, as I've only ever gone to a Mercedes dealer in the past. Ronnie is highly recommended! I will definitely give an update once the repairs are done.

I took my Buick Lucerne in for an oil change and told the receptionist to make sure the tires were…read moreinflated to 35 psi per Discount Tire where I purchased the newer Michelin tires ($700 purchase). They need 35 psi in the winter because the rims are aluminum and cause the tires to lose air in the extreme cold. Within two and half weeks, I received a warning from Onstar that my tires were at 28 psi with one at 27 psi. They did not lose all that air in that amount of time but were not inflated properly per my request. I took in my older Chevy Malibu which had dashboard lights going on including check engine light and service engine soon light. The tachometer was also not working. Auto Zone read the codes for FREE and I took that printout in with the car. They kept the car for three days. All they did was clear the codes, did not fix the tachometer and by the time I went a mile away from VIP toward Rt. 30, the check engine light was on! This car is older but always well taken care of and garage kept. No attention to detail plus I was charge $99 for nothing vs. Auto Zone putting the car on their computer to test for codes for free. I will not be back to VIP ever.

I pondered about do I want to do this my self? Or go somewhere that will treat me with respect, tariffs or no tariffs. I stopped in at Mufflers 4 Less explaining what work that I believed that I needed, I had already went to Auto Zone and purchased the parts and asked for a quote. They examined the vehicle and quoted me 200.00 bucks for labor. They told me it was kind of busy and it would take about an 90 minutes I told them, have at it. I called my wife, she picked me up, they called me 1 hour later said that they were finished and didn't have to use all of the parts that Moe Manny and Joe said that I needed. With that being said I told them to also fix a exhaust leak that I had on the vehicle, I used the money that I had saved on taking the unused parts back to pay for that work that I needed. I am now a happy camper. The brakes don't squeal and the exhaust doesn't howl anymore on my 16 year old Toyota 5 speed. Low and slow is the way to go.

Once they took the back tires off, the owner told me that if I was paying with a credit card it would be a 4 percent extra charge. I told him that I was not going to pay extra and insisted that they put the tires back on. I left the shop and went to a more reputable shop and was told that I didn't need rear brakes. The owner of this establishment is ripping people off. I would not recommend this business. The owner is very shady, can't be trusted. Plus they stole a pack of disinfectant wipes from my car. If steal wipes, please do not leave anything of value in your car.
