Bad service. Transplanted know nothing staff. High turn over. A nose ring smaller than a grain of rice is $50. That is their lowest. It is not the same as what I was shown in their display case but they wrap it up so you can not tell. No returns. Jewelry is very poor quality. Avoid unless you are drunk dumb rich college kid. This is a shame to see what happened to the 1990s Eugene OG. When they are they only one to buy from, they decided on a gouge once and forgo repeat business from anyone local. To ask for $10 to "help place the piercing in you" (already pierced) is outrageously rude. If I spend $50 for a $7 stud, the business does not care about providing customer service. The most ridiculous thing this place is selling is that the jewelry is ethical and handmade. It is not, the company HQ is in Seattle but holds an import license with Bali. Rich white kids who found "Buddha" found something to buy cheap and resell. Don't be fooled by "handmade" claims. This junk is being sold at 5x the cost of the low quality gold content weight. Newbies to the industry should know this company they support are marketing experts, not artisans or jewelry makers. This "jewelry" business has been around a very long time and anyone who saw piercing rise in the 1990s knows the least ethical rose to the top by deception. Ridiculous prices. Went in to get some jewlery I had replaced since I couldn't open the clasp myself. they tried to charge me 100-170(i can't remmeber the exact price but it was in this range) just for them to do it- with my own jewlery?? Most other reputable places won't charge at all and you just tip. I've heard their tattoos were also over priced and I believe it. A basic piercing should only cost 40-80 dollars- and that's for the piercing and the new jewlery- don't pay more ------ Hi Derek, Thank you for responding. ive lived in corvallis for 13ish years, and i've been getting piercings with them since i was about 13 (20 now). overall, front desk is super sweet and friendly, piercers are great too. recently i went in with my boyfriend to get my nostril redone and he wanted a daith. piercing process was super quick and easy, piercer was so, so nice and talked us through everything. ensured any checkups are free, which is a relief... which is because both piercings (with lower-cost jewelry) were over $200!! the experience was so lovely, but i really can't justify the price for getting poked by a needle. their costs have definitely gone up throughout the years. (i've heard it's because they couldn't afford to pay their employees, which is a whole other issue.) i honestly would rather risk the potential of infection from doing it at home rather than spend that much. those poor employees.. i wish the best for them. and i thank them for their hospitality and ensuring piercing care. but that price... it's just too much. read more

I'm still shaking. A few years ago I got the purple wrist tattoo at a place on Monroe to commemorate 90 days without a cigarette. I knew I was gonna smoke that day, but I wanted something to remind me that I did it once. Fast forward to yesterday. I returned and asked if they could add to it to celebrate 6 months. He says yes, took a picture, and scheduled me for today. I asked for Jewel tones for ink. When i got there He showed me a clip art of a giant pink crystal with two lillies that he wanted to place in the middle of my arm. I declined and asked if maybe we could talk about covering one on my leg. I show it to him and say "eventually over the course of a few appointments, I will want to do more. He replies, "You want your whole leg blasted" and indicates all the way to the ankle. I say no, thank you. He asks how much I want to spend, and I said "I am looking for a 2 hour tattoo. $300" he says "to get your leg blasted?" And I say "no. You are not understanding me." He says " maybe this isn't going to work" and I said,"You are right, we are not communicating well." When I step out of the room, he starts yelling."Get out! Get out! I don't do $40 tattoos!" I would be embarrassed by the scene, but I would have been more embarrassed if I had let that clip art having 'can't do line work' failure touch my body. Guess it was not meant to be today. While I respect the COVID procedures the shop is taking. This shop will refuse anyone who is walking up, even if to quickly purchase some jewelry. They're also not answering their phones to answer any questions you may be having. When a friend of mine went to get a recent piercing, he was refusing to answer a pricing on other piercings as he repeatedly told her to have her friends make the appointment, spend the $5 and then find out how much your piercing is once you show up for the appointment. Long story short, Northern Star in downtown Corvallis also sells some pretty nice jewelry and Die Hard Tattoo and Piercing is a GREAT shop for a much cheaper price. I got a tattoo from Bryan aka 7devilscreations the day before Halloween and was so happy with it! After it started to heal it started to look like a stick n poke. Less than 5 months later I asked to get it touched up while I'm back in town visiting and he told me he would only touch it up for $50. Im so unhappy with this. High Priestess was fantastic. They are appointment only right now due to COVID-19, but their website is super easy to navigate, and setting up an appointment is a breeze. I went in today to get my nose jewelry changed, I couldn't figure out how to get my press to fit nose stud out (which was a little embarrassing) but they didn't make me feel weird about it all! I purchased a new ring from them, they only sell jewelry of high-quality materials, and the checkout process was seamless. The process of getting it switched out was quick, and COVID guidelines were adhered to throughout. Everyone was super friendly and professional, especially Erin (I hope I spelled your name right!). I called ahead with some questions the day before and Erin was incredibly helpful, they were able to answer all of my questions. In-person, Erin was even more of a delight. Upon arrival I was greeted with smiles & kindness. Megan was the piercer and I cannot say enough great things about her professionalism. Megan was so unbelievably kind, patient, reassuring, and fast. The guy who did my piercings was great. the front desk guy, on the other hand, literally wouldn't allow me to even use my phone to look up a piercing in the shop. every time i even wiped my forehead he rudely asked me to go sanitize. (i'm okay sanitizing but this dude was rude). After that, i had an itch and wiped my forehead, and he demanded that i go sanitize again and said "if you do that again i am going to get MAD" kinda sad i'm a nice person he just made me afraid and anxious. I had a really weird experience here. I paid $350 for a tattoo that I was really excited about (and it did turn out amazing!) but the artist was less than friendly. I walked out of a three hour session without ever being asked my name (let alone any other small talk) and the artist only referred to me as the design I was getting (e.g. "hey flower design come back here and let's put the stencil on). I told him where I wanted to place the design and he put 5 inches above where I wanted it on my arm (by slapping the stencil on my arm and saying "I think it'd look good here" without waiting for feedback before applying it). Once the tattooing actually began, he didn't tell me before putting the needle to my skin. He didn't speak to me the whole time and took three smoke breaks during our session which was kinda odd. The tattoo itself looks great, but I'm sure I could've gone somewhere else and found an equally as talented artist that is able to show what I would argue is basic human decency. I want to emphasize that this was obviously not shyness or intense focus, it definitely came off as disrespect and disregard of my overall comfort during the experience. Have never had a tattoo experience like this and haven't had one since, definitely wouldn't go to High Priestess again. read more

Jessica was very helpful in showing me just how much better sacred art is in Corvallis today. I have been tattooed by 7 different artists at multiple places in Oregon and never before have I turned down a tattoo. My girlfriend put 60 dollars towards a tattoo she wanted before changing her mind and letting me use the 60 towards something while she thinks about what she wants for next time. Not only was I gonna tip well but I was ready to pay more the second it took more than a half an hour. (This is not my first piercing or my first nose jewelry change). Today I went in to get a nose piercing jewelry change- pretty standard and no big deal. The woman who greeted me was awesome, knowledgeable and kind. The woman who actually went to change my piercing said almost nothing to me and was incredibly rough removing my previous piercing. My eyes watered more than when I got the actual piercing and I was very uncomfortable. I was so uncomfortable that I asked her about her day just to ease the tension and she was adequately polite. The rest of the experience was fine and I left with an incredibly sore nose. Now that it's been several hours my nose is throbbing. This has not been a good experience or even close to how my precious experiences went at other places. read more

I love High Priestess, I've gotten a total of 7 piercings from them both in Corvallis and their Campus location in Eugene. The Corvallis location is especially clean and comfortable. They can be pretty busy some times because of all the college kids, but over all they are awesome. Yes their jewelry is EXPENSIVE. But if you ask them, "hey dude, what's up with the pricey jewelry? I can get blah-blah-blah for so much at this other joint." They will kindly tell you that they only sell jewelry made from high quality materials. If you know anything about your body you will know that punching a hole in it, then stuffing something made of questionable materials is a BAD idea. All their stuff is internally threaded (google it, you'll see why it's better) and highly polished to make sure it doesn't irritate you. If you want to be a cheapskate, you probably should not be getting pierced or tattooed. Would you go in to a doctor and ask him to cut corners? No, because it would be bad for your health. That's why you pay more to make sure your piercings and tattoos are don't right. I know lots of people here really like Chris, however I'm not a big fan of him because I have old piercings in my ear that he stretched out despite the fact that I told him they were half closed and weren't done properly the first time. Could have been a simple mistake, but he also pierced a friend of mine (a man) in a VERY sensitive place (if ya know what I mean) and did it WRONG. That alone makes me leery of the guy. However, I have had him do some piercings that turned out to be done well, so I guess for me, it's a mixed bag with him. Anyway, Tigger is great! Best piercer ever! She has done my tongue, nose, and ears several times and I love her. She's always super friendly and informative. I agree that the counter staff can be catty (I don't look like your average customer either Stephanie K!), but I usually just ignore their attitude. Lately, the staff seems to have been replaced anyway so it's been much better. There is a youngish guy in there who is super nice. They're spendy but worth it. And hey, if you're gonna punch a hole in you or have something engraved in your skin, you want it to be good right? You get what you pay for here folks! read more

This place is great. Ive been getting pierced and whatnot since '96, lived with a professional piercer, etc etc so I know what to expect at these types of businesses. The staff was very friendly, and went out of their way to accommodate me and answer my questions. All of their jewelry was high quality, and the work areas were very clean. My piercer (Tigger) re-pierced my lip, and did an excellent job. It was not all that painful and everything was lined up straight. She was very personable and did a good job going over the proper aftercare. Edited to 4 stars rather than 5. Went back 2 weeks later to have my piercing resized. They told me at the counter $10. While I was sitting there waiting, I read the sign that tells you to tip, and on there it says resizes (and a couple other services) are free. wtf? Got up and left, went home and did it myself. switching out jewelry only takes about 30 seconds anyways, not like I haven't done it before. Oh well. read more

I got my first cartilage piercing (high ear) here last Saturday. It was pretty busy when I got there--which was a good sign, but had to wait only about 15 min. Not sure what the jewelry selection is like in other piercing places, but the selection here was only decent, IMO. They had plenty of color/gemstone choices, but not a wide variety of styles. Chris, the piercer, was great. I'm normally squeamish around needles, but he totally distracted me from the procedure and I completely didn't realize he had pierced my ear until it was already over. He is also hilarious. They provide free sea salt for aftercare (as well as free refills for salt), and free checkups also. As for the price, it was $25 for one piercing, plus ~$20 for the earring itself. Not sure what Stephanie K. was talking about. I had the woman with the insect tattoo greet me, and although she was very busy, she was very courteous and even took the time to answer all my questions after the piercing was done. Maybe she's changed since April of last year, or maybe there's more than one woman with the same tattoo...? 4 stars because it's a bit pricey for a broke college student. Both my friend and I started our arm tattoos at the Corvallis location. We both went to Natalie. We are both extremely displeased with what we got. Natalie quoted me around $600-750 for the whole thing, and $500 in all I had was horrible looking lines and random child doodles on the arm, and it was 1/5th done at the MOST.. $500 in. The clear plastic stuff she put on also took off much of the color and left it looking spotty. She had lots of colors but there are parts of my arm that I am embarrassed of. Mostly I am upset about how much money she charged me! For slow, bad looking work. I switched to a new artist at a different shop and he had to go over everything she did, and now my arm looks great and I get constant compliments. I will never go back to high priestess. Do not get tattooed there! Also, she was not ver nice to me during the consult, she was hard to get a hold of and late on every appointment I had with her. read more

A group of us stopped in to High Priestess to get piercings while we were cycling across the country from Baltimore to Portland, OR with the 4K For Cancer. Tigger was fantastic! She did 2 cartilage piercings, one tragus and one nose piercing on us. She told us exactly what she was doing and why throughout the piercing process, made sure the piercing location and jewelry choice was exactly what we wanted, and gave us thorough instructions on how to clean and properly care for our piercings. She also was very supportive of our cause, and she is really funny. A great person all around. They have a set piercing fee, so you can get several piercings for the same price as one, so if you want multiple piercings this is a good place to go. You pay for the jewelry individually, which is all high quality. The shop is very cleanly and sterile. I had no concerns. My piercing has healed up really nicely with no problems. My friend and I came in a couple days ago to get our belly buttons pierced. We were both super nervous since this was our first piercing besides our ears. Danny was the best!!! Not only did he answer all of our questions and gives us plenty of information, but he also managed to make our nerves and anxiousness go away. It was such a quick process and everything turned out perfectly! What impressed me the most was how kind everyone was that works here. After getting pierced I got very dizzy and lightheaded, and they did everything they could to make sure I was okay. They offered me to lay down in the waiting area for as long as I needed to. I have walked out feeling like a complete idiot, but have always come back because of their piercer's customer service (Tigger and Danny). Today was the first day that the girl at the front (haven't seen her before, blonde, Morty tat) was kind, knowledgeable and actually made me feel welcome. When I instinctively touched my piercing on my ear, instead of demeaning me and freaking out, she quickly handed me a disinfecting wipe and instructed me to use it on my fingers. I wasn't shamed but kindly treated and reminded of their strict policy on cleanliness. The piercer, Sarvas, was quick, engaging and made me feel at ease. Recently visited high priestess in corvallis. It was a big deal because I have not been tattooed by anyone but my brother! Monica did an amazing job...she was quick but the work was amazing quality!!! My soon to be husband was tattooed by Christian and was so impressed with Christian's attention to detail and was very pleased with the outcome.
