I recently had an encounter with this company at the Aspen Airport with the rudest driver I've ever met. Immediately the driver was rude, but then quoted $100 for a trip that is 6 miles away. I said that the High Mountain Taxi website had estimated $54-$58 and he responded that they didn't even have a website (they do in fact, have a website) and that I was lying. He was then very condescending to us, saying "Well I guess we'll see then at the end of the drive," obviously saying that it was going to be $100. I wasn't willing to spend money on a company where I would be treated badly and charged double what the website had quoted, so we found another way to get where we were going. Just to prove that the website does exist, and does give quotes, I've attached a screenshot. I also didn't appreciate that when we said we didn't want a ride, the driver told us we wouldn't be able to find anyone else anyways...newsflash, we did. read more

Screw this company. We had called the previous night and confirmed that they could take us to Vail, Co. The dispatch told us yes, just go to Aspen airport and you can take a taxi from there. So we showed up this morning and called for a taxi, when he arrived, we were told that he can't take us. Then told us another taxi will be along shortly that can. So we waited. Another taxi showed up, loaded us up, notified his dispatch that he was taking us. Immediately, his dispatch called back and yelled at the driver to unload us and that they will not be taking us. So upsetting- I've always had great service with them, but the driver I had last night was so incredibly disrespectful, unkind and inconsiderate- he was taking me two hours to say goodbye to my husband, who was in an ICU in Denver- he got incredibly unkind and aggressive because my debit card didn't go through (my bank issued a fraud alert), and then got extremely impatient while I tried to contact any family member who might be awake- it was 2:00 am by this time, and got obviously frustrated with my dad, who answered and tried to give him his credit card number multiple times because he didn't understand him- my dad has Parkinson's disease, and then he got in my face threatened to call the police on me and held my dying husband's Worley possessions hostage until he was paid- my husband died while all of this was going on in the ER, so I never got to say goodbye read more

So frustrated! High Mountain Taxi bought out Valley Taxi and now taxi service in Glenwood Springs might as well not even exist. Multiple times I have tried to get a cab on nights I worked late, only to be told the only driver on duty has just gone to Rifle or Aspen. Causing wait times of 1-3 hours. I thought making a reservation would solve that issue, but I was wrong. At pick up time I got a call from dispatch that it would be another 30 minutes, which ended up being over an hour wait beyond my reservation time. I've talked with other people who are experiencing the same issues. I guess the company doesn't value Glenwood Springs riders. It's unfortunate. read more

I can always rely on HMT to get me to where I need to be. I use them every time I am going to the airport and not once, in the 100s of times I've used them, have they been late. Not once! The drivers are all incredibly kind and are some sort of staple in the community. I remember my last HMT driver was a teacher/coach at Aspen High School for over 20 years, which is pretty amazing. I just tried to make a reservation to book a time for pickup today. For the morning of the 1st of january. And the girl who picked up the reservation system just said they probably won't even have taxes England would springs and couldn't guarantee anything even though they just bought out the other taxi cab service. So down valley from Glenwood springs to Carbondale who knows what's going on terrible customer service and it sucks we really only have one taxi cab service in the valley now. read more

Don't rely on this company for your taxi services!! We called them to book a taxi to the airport a day in advance. We had a 7:20 am flight and we needed to be there at least 45 minutes in advance in order to check in. We had three suitcases, a snowboard bag, crib, stroller and three children! Needless to say it was kind of important that we arrive on time. A woman at the company booked our pick up... she informed my husband that we were scheduled for a pick up time at 6 am and then abruptly hung up. So what happened? They completely no showed. We called them in the morning at 6:05 after hustling to have all our stuff ready outside freezing with three tired children. A gentleman answered and said they had no knowledge of our booking! He was actually pretty helpful and apologetic. He scheduled a cab to come immediately. 45 minutes later a cab arrived. Long story short, we missed our flight and we were stuck at the airport for over three hours so we could catch the next flight. Real convenient in Aspen since Uber and Lyft are really not an option most of the time. You can book a pickup in advance which is great later in the evening when the hotels shuttles stop running. Prices are extremely affordable, much less than Uber or Lyft (if you can even get one). read more

This is a great service that I have used for years. Just be aware that you are in a small town with many other tourists and the roads can become unexpectedly congested. GIVE YOURSELF EXTRA TIME to reach your destination regardless of which service you use. Great service, wonderful drivers. We used High Mountain Taxi several times to get around the Aspen/Snowmass area and found their service to be prompt & efficient. The icing on the cake is their exceptional crew of drivers. Each driver we had was super polite and extremely knowledgeable about the nuances of the area, local history, nature, etc. During our drive to and from Ashcroft for some cross country skiing we were treated to two different impromptu guided tours of the same beautiful valley. Had the hotel book the night before, received a text message confirming a specific time. The cab didn't show up until 30 minutes after the requested arrival time which made us have to rebook our excursion. I called the company and he said if I wanted a taxi for 9:40 I should have requested it for 9:00am? My question is why send me confirmation text for 9:40.
