3/15/2014 - I traveled with my boss, his wife and their two children (2 year old boy and 5 year old girl). I requested a car service upon arrival from Smiddy and gave them the tail number and city of origin so that they could track the flight. I requested two seat boosters for safety. The flight was delayed. When we landed the car service was not there. We waited about 20 minutes for them to arrive. No booster seats for the children were provided. As we are being transferred, one of their employees calls the driver and tells her, in a very rude tone, to hurry up in dropping us off. I had other car services scheduled with them and decided to cancel them and use a different service. I am this family's assistant, and when things like this happen, I look bad. 3/23/2014 - My credit card was charged $260 when it should have only been $90. It was only a 15-minute transfer. I spoke with Wendell and he refused to give us a credit. Their claim: We were late in arriving so they charged us for two car services. Our claim: They should have tracked the flight with the information provided, and there was no reason for not having the seat boosters or for being rude. Not even an apology. Smiddy Limo is hands down the best car service in Aspen. We used their brand new 2021 Black Cadillac Escalade several times during our trip. They were always on-time, with spotless cars and highly professional, they are highly reliable. We took a ride from Aspen to the Grottos and various day hikes. As a resident of the Aspen area I must say I would not use this service based on the way they drive around town and the valley. Very dangerous bullies in their big black vehicles - verging on road rage. I was almost run off the road by one today; a very busy and snowy day on the highway to Aspen. They were driving for miles in the passing lane and cutting off cars. Extremely fast speeds (for any conditions) and then too slow- very erratic. I even saw him pass a car on the right in the bus lane. Not a great way to represent the company. read more

Unsafe with an attitude. Our flight from Aspen to Denver was cancelled on account of weather so we had to pay close to $1000, which is highway robbery, to take a car on short notice. Our driver was not safe, I had to tell him to keep his hands on the wheel after the fifth time he had them off (that time he was peeling an orange) while going 75 down icy roads. I was also concerned about how alert he was since he had a whole tin of altoids during the ride. He then became argumentative when we asked him to circumvent downtown Denver traffic which google maps had at a 15 min delay and we were short on time for our flight. We basically had to twist his arm to get him to do it and he threatened to make us pay the toll out of pocket (there wasn't one). He was mystified on how we got to the airport without hitting traffic. Never again. read more

Rate from Aspen Airport to Snowmass Village - 10 minute ride - is $120. Return rate is $65. These are details the company conveniently forgets to disclose when making a reservation. Shame on me for not asking...but, take an Uber/Lyft/cab. read more

I requested a car to pick up a colleague of mine and her family from the Aspen Airport to make the fifteen minute drive into Aspen/Snowmass Village. I spoke with their General Manager, Mitch, and he assured me someone would be there to pick them up, have a car seat for her young daughter, and their private SUV would be waiting for them. We did a pre-payment. Mitch gave his verbal confirmation, but when I asked for an email confirmation, he stated that they would be there and not to worry. Should have been my first red flag. My colleague called twenty minutes after her flight landed to inquire where the car was. She called, I called from my office phone and personal phone to see if someone would answer. It would either go straight to an automated message stating that someone at Smiddy Limo was on another call so keep calling (there wasn't a way to leave a message). Other times it would ring before it would go back to the automated message. I don't know if this organization has undergone new management or if they are rolling in airport pick ups and don't need the job, but their lack of communication and professionalism should speak volumes. I heartily recommend that you avoid using this business for any transportation needs while you are in Aspen. read more

We had great service from Smiddy Limo in Aspen. They picked us up right on time on Christmas Day from airport for ride to town and then back on the 30th. Scheduled both a day or so ahead and no issues. Nice, safe drivers both times. This was a free service of Frias properties but we did tip. Big vehicle, could handle all 12 bags/skis/ 4 people. read more

Great experience with Jim driving from Aspen to Denver. This guy knows his stuff. I dare you to ask him if he has experience driving in the snow. It was horrible conditions with cars littering the roads from accidents. We never felt nervous under his command. Highly recommend if you need a safe ride. read more

Ask for Lindsey - not only is he always on time and friendly - but he also gives great restaurant and bar recommendations. Plus, it is a small business, locally owned. My experience with Smiddy Limo was fantastic. We booked the service to take us from a surprise proposal at the Maroon Bells into Aspen for brunch and back to the Maroon Bells afterwards. Our driver showed up exactly on time as planned, he was very friendly and informative during the ride, and picked us up and dropped off exactly as planned.
