    Steak and chimichurri shrimp taco
    Lindsay N.

Got two tacos, 1 steak and 1 shrimp. Steak was tender and juicy shrimp was well cooked both were on tortillas that were very good. Both very flavorful. Small though. I was pretty hungry so needed a dessert after but two tacos and an lmnt sparkling canned drink was $25. No sides/just à la carte.

Absolutely LOVED this place! I can't say enough good things about the shrimp skewers. So flavorful and the sauces were amazing. The chicken wings were also spectacular. Everything tasted so fresh and healthy. I can't wait to go back to try other menu items!

The smash burger at High Marea was delicious and I would definitely order it an again. The burger comes with bacon jam, cheddar cheese, chipotle aioli, and a toasted brioche bun, which creates a really rich, savory flavor combination which was also had some spice! The flavors are elevated so it's not the average burger. You can get it as a single or double, I opted for a single patty burger and it was filling. The ambiance is nice. There is an option to sit inside or outside. Outside was packed with no seating so I sat inside. The service was great! Loved the staff.

I really enjoyed this spot. It gives chill take out vibes but the menu is super elevated. I came because it's seed oil free and they have complimentary bone broth shots. The beers on tap are elite (Pliny the elder). The servers made rounds which was not expected given it's an order at the counter place. The value is outstanding here. I'll definitely come back.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with smiling faces and a welcoming atmosphere. Knowing they cook with clean ingredients, was a huge reason we made the trek from Vista. We had the fried fish tacos (pictured), tallow fries and smoked arrachera steak tacos. Everything tasted amazing. From the homemade tortillas, to the seasoning on the tender, juicy steak and the flavorful fresh fish taco. Left us wanting more for sure! To top it off, they have a great ocean view from the patio seating. Definitely will be back for sure!

Shrimp Tacos and Surf and Turf fries

This place is a gem. 10 out of 10. It was our first time coming here and we will be back. It was nice to try a couple different things. The surf and turf fries were absolutely delicious. The shrimp were fresh and a great size. The fries were crispy and not greasy. This was my favorite. The chips were fresh and light, the salsa had great flavor. Shrimp tacos were tasty, the tortillas were soft and had a good texture. Highly recommend trying all the things here we will be back. Thank you for the tasty food!

Had to do another review on the surf and turf fries. Holy shit. Best surfnturf fries in SD. I had it 3 days in a row. I still crave it

really enjoyed everything about the lunch I had here. The way they prepare the food with no seed oils using tallow super fresh and ingredients. That's really just one part of it super super friendly and incredibly accommodating to my children very attentive. We were at the bird sanctuary not too far down the street. I'm very happy we found this. I can't wait to come back.

Have been here probably 5+ times already and I get the fish tacos every time! Best fish tacos I've ever had! My husband has branched out and everything he's gotten has been phenomenal as well. The best new Del Mar addition!

It's rare to find someone with that kind of work ethic and attitude. He's a true pleasure to deal with every visit. Honestly, give that young man a raise! He definitely deserves it. For $1.39 each it's a deal that can't be beat, so don't be expecting anything mind blowing. It's a bite full of corn or flour tortilla, a suitable piece of fried fish, some slaw, some tomatoes, and some sauce. Served with some lime wedges. Simple, delicious, and hits the spot every time. Everything else on the menu is much more expensive, probably to offset the costs of these fish tacos. Would I ever try them? Probably not. With order to table service, both a salsa and alcoholic bar, and pet-friendly outdoor seating, this place runs on little, but delivers a lot, and can accomodate large parties. Seems like this is the go-to place for many, and for good reason. From broke college students to working adults, everyone can enjoy a cheap taco.

The outside patio is especially pleasant and makes for a great place to sit, enjoy your meal, and take in the fresh ocean air. Being so close to the ocean really adds to the experience and gives the whole place a laid back coastal feel. The menu features Mexican and Latin fusion food with some creative and flavorful options. Everything I tried felt thoughtfully prepared and well balanced. The cucumber margarita was incredibly refreshing with a bright cucumber flavor and just the right touch of sweetness. It was crisp, light, and perfect for the setting. The seaside molcajete was a standout dish for me. It is a hearty seafood stew served bubbling hot and packed with different kinds of seafood. If you enjoy seafood, this is definitely something worth ordering. The Baja fish tacos were also very satisfying with thick pieces of fish that were flaky and flavorful. It is a simple dish but done very well. I also tried the chicken enchiladas which came as a comforting plate with a little bit of everything. The chicken was tender and the dish had a rich and satisfying flavor. Overall Tamarindo Del Mar is a great spot if you are looking for Mexican and Latin inspired dishes in a relaxed coastal setting. Between the pleasant patio, the ocean nearby, and the flavorful food, it is definitely a place I would come back to.

It' is a charming little taco shop tucked away in a small mini mall at 524 Stevens Avenue in Solana Beach. I ordered a pollo asado burrito, and the chicken was incredibly tender and juicy. Although the burrito seemed large at first, it was perfect for my hunger since I had not eaten all day. The burrito was bursting with flavor, and the salsa was fresh and delicious. Also, the service was impressively quick as my burrito was ready within five minutes of ordering. The ambiance was enhanced by cheerful, happy Mexican music playing softly in the background. Additionally, Rudy's offers convenient money exchange services and shipping to Mexico, making it even more unique. The interior is cozy and impeccably clean. As a top Yelp Elite reviewer, I give Rudy's Mexican Taco Shop five stars plus for the delightful experience! What are you waiting for? Gracias Rudy's Taco Shop!

Which is what brought us to Beeside Balcony in Del Mar during the 1st SDRW of 2026. We had Saturday night reservations & got into town early with some time to kill. We found nearby street parking fairly easily. The hostess was able to quickly accommodate us with a table despite our early arrival. Indoor dining space is minimal. But as an upstairs restaurant with "Balcony" literally in its name, the outdoor patio is where you want to be. Our server was a inconsistent on attentiveness & was slow to warm up, though she was quite personable later in the meal. Along with all of the al fresco charm dining on the balcony offered, there was also a curious & less desirable element of the ambiance. During our meal, someone went around shooting pics/ videos for social media. It felt distracting & intrusive. While the SDRW menu was what brought us here, we opted for the Chef's menu after looking over all the options. I ordered the Salmon Croquette/ Denver Steak/ Churros. She ordered Cioppino Soup/ Barramundi/ S'More Cake. Although the pacing of our courses from the kitchen was uneven, most of what we had was good to great to wonderful. Sharing tastes of our dishes with each other, the 1 egregious miss for me was the Cioppino Soup. The seafood in it was good. But that broth was not. Aside from that, the Salmon Croquette & the Barramundi were delicious. The Denver Steak was a revelation. I'd never heard of this cut before, so I looked it up. Truly, a bang for the buck all star. & prepared perfectly here with a fantastic chimichurri. For our desserts, my Churros were good but not anything to get particularly excited about. Now, on the other hand, that S'More Cake? Wow. insanely indulgent with an ooey-gooey center. I honestly can't think of a better way to end a meal. Overall, the ambiance, service, & food all had highs & lows. Collectively, though, the sum total of the experience was pleasant enough that I would be interested in coming back. My threshold for 4 stars is if I'd come back. So, 4 stars it is.
