They aren't just for hydroponics. They also have the best potting and gardening soil.

After about 3 years of going here, I think it's time I review these guys. I've been to all the hydro stores in the desert and was frequenting all of them in search of the best deals for whatever items I needed. Hydroponics is expensive in general, so penny pinching is a must, but I quickly realized Mo and Chris only charge a slight amount over invoice, on everything. I'm not left guessing if I can get a better deal here or there, it all just ends up being what's fair. Some of the other guys have memberships that afford "deep discounts" but it's disingenuous at best. I also don't feel like the other stores really care about their customers. When I come into this store, I'm always warmly welcomed and I'm pretty sure Mo remembered my name after 1 visit. I think I bought something small too, so that means he took time out of his day to remember me for nothing. On numerous occasions these guys have helped me out in other ways as well. Nothing I'll get into here because it's above and beyond what should be normal customer service and I don't want people trying to evoke this kind of thing from them. However, trust me when I say, if you're loyal to them, they will reciprocate double. One of the reasons I went other places was the selection, they didn't have too much from Heavy 16, however, they are able to order it pretty damn quick and have it on the counter for me without asking the minute I come chirping. Cheaper than the guys that supposedly carry this as a house brand. I'm not sure how that works, but I won't complain. All in all, this is a very friendly, knowledgable, and competitively priced place to go. You guys have my business for as long as I have a garden. read more

The people who work here (and of course the owner) are not 'just employees'...they are all consultants! Being new to this scene, I had lots of questions. They have everything there you could ever need to make your garden a success. The staff is outstanding. The nicest and most knowledgeable people you will ever meet. It's nice to go to a store where the person helping you knows exactly what you're talking about. As a newbie they answered all my questions and made suggestions for my garden that increased the yield from my crops and they were less expensive than the competition. I absolutely love this place!!! everyone there is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the products they sell. It only took a couple of visits for them to remember my name, feels like coming home every time lol. High Desert is the best all around Hydro store around. I have numerous Hydro stores in a radius of an hour in either direction that I could go to and have been to. I must say that High Desert is extremely professional, very friendly, always a welcome and a smile at the door, and in my opinion the most knowledgeable around. You can ask anything and if they can't answer it they will find out for you. Its great, kinda like going to Cheers, "where every1 knows your name" and where stories are shared. lol Awesome place, once you visit you won't go any where else. I wouldn't go to any other grow store in Cali. The staff here are far more concerned about you getting what you need than making money off you buying unnecessary stuff. They are really knowledgeable too, I always leave having learned something new. read more
