I'm disappointed to see poor reviews here. These guys saved me. I had been going to them for…read morebatteries since I first moved to Albuquerque ten years ago and hadn't realized until recently that were actually a shop. I have an old car and rely on keeping it running. I knew what was wrong with it but the quote that I got on it was so expensive that I had resigned to just drive it until it broke down. I went to get a battery from these guys and casually asked for a ballpark quote on the work. These guys replaced my intake manifold, replaced the motor in my automatic window, recharged my AC, tuned up the car - all for $800 less than the other shop quoted me for just the intake manifold! Not only is their work great and the pricing more than fair, they go the extra mile. They called around to find a cheaper part with a warranty for me and got the work done in one day. They always remembered my name and my car when I called. Every one of the guys that I spoke with was so helpful and courteous. I'm moving soon, and I was terrified of leaving with my car just about to break down. I cannot say enough good things about these guys. Don't believe the other reviews. There really are good, honest people out there that do good work, and The Start Shop is where it's at.

Robert has provided excellence service ever since I started bringing my car to his shop. The first…read moretime I needed a headlight replacement and an oil change. He completed the work very quickly and did a thorough inspection of my car - he even put air in my spare tire, which was nearly flat! This week I brought my car back with a check engine light. I ended up bringing it in a day early because my battery was dead. I was very stressed out and didn't know what to do so I called Robert. He said that if I could get a jump and bring it in, he would take care of it. Robert took care of the battery, replaced the part that the check engine code called for, and did another oil change. His prices are very reasonable and he is a pleasure to speak with. He doesn't give you any pressure about added parts or services. He will be honest about when something might need replaced, but I never felt like I was being persuaded to do anything that I hadn't prepared for. I am glad that I found a good mechanic and a friend.
