HiFly's DJ (Joey) was the highlight of our wedding! And our guests could not stop talking about how good the music was. As an MC, he kept the wedding MOVING. This was one of our biggest concerns given we had a lot of events throughout. But his transitions were prompt, and he directed people where they needed to go. Definitely underestimated how much we would appreciate this part of his service. He also narrated our Korean Paebaek service for all of our guests. As a DJ, he kept the pacing really well. The music at our reception definitely kept the vibes high during our dinner. And when we got to the dance floor, he really showed up. It was bops on top of bops. I don't think there was anyone sitting until the very end. Thanks again to HiFly for the amazing experience! Only my bruised toes were disappointed. read more

HIRE. DJ DAVID CHOI FROM HIFLY DJ EVENTS. NOW!!! Especially if you're hosting a wedding reception for 200+ guests. From inquiry to the end of the wedding reception, David provided exceptional customer service. Since our daughter was having her wedding and reception in Los Angeles, logistically we felt hiring a Los Angeles DJ would be conducive to the location of the festivities. DJ David exceeded our expectations and made the reception such a memorable occasion for our family and friends. My daughter's wedding was going to be held in Los Angeles (LA), so we wanted to hire a local DJ. Initially, I made inquiries with DJs in our hometown, but the DJs I talked to were charging higher than what we could afford. Plus, if we hired someone close to our home, that probably would have incurred travel costs, which is why we wanted an LA DJ. It was real simple to reach out to David utilizing the Yelp app. When I indicated I was shopping for DJs on Yelp, I got several inquiries. HiFly DJ was the first DJ to respond to my request. The communication between my daughter and I with David was outstanding. I started the negotiation with David and my daughter took care of wedding reception particulars. David provided a reasonable quote and it was within our budget contstraints. He'll work with you, so be completely transparent about your budgetary needs. David's quality customer service and his transparency via email are positives that warrant what his asking price was. An example of the impeccable customer service he provided me was my early request and constant reminder about a surprise song I would be incorporating after my Father of the Bride speech. He kept that a secret from my daughter until it was time for me to perform with her during the wedding reception. I needed to have two mics for the two of us to perform and they were high quality mics that provided strong clarity for the audience to hear. My daughter worked with David with the itinerary, transitions, and music selection after they communicated via email and met for an in-person meeting. I hadn't personally met DJ David, but when I did at the reception, he was such a cool guy, who evoked positivity and seeing him perform, his DJ skills and emceeing were unparalleled. David made every facet of our reception so much fun and his diligence were on full display. The introductions of the parents and bridal party were so much fun because of the dance-worthy music he played. My daughter and her fiance surprised us with songs they performed, which was really clear to the 200+ guests. The speeches of the maids of honor, best men, father of the groom, and father of the bride were heard clearly through the use of wireless mics. My wife accompanied my daughter and I by playing the piano for our surprise song and the mics easily captured her playing. Loved how each of the tables got to take pics with the newlyweds and that was seamlessly announced. I loved how David got all 200+ guests onto the floor to take a group pic and transitioned that gathering into the start of dancing. Our guests spanned all ages from a one year old, high school kids, young adults, middle age, and senior citizens. Our daughter provided a list of songs she wanted played and I don't know if all of her songs played, but what I do know is DJ David played songs that kept people on the dance floor and made the dancing super fun. He also takes song requests and the one song I asked for was the Electric Slide. That was a song that got everyone up followed by another group dance song that kept everyone on the dance floor. I appreciated him mentioning that the song was requested by the old dude and proud father of the bride. We had a great experience hiring HiFly DJ Events with DJ David making my daughter and SIL's reception one for the ages and one that won't be soon forgotten. I'm confident that David will be a superb hire for your wedding DJ/Emcee/Sound/Lighting needs. read more

David is the goat. He has worked with many vendors and is clear he has extensive experience doing this. He taught our friend how/what to MC for our reception, he MC'd our Paebaek (korean ceremony) with handbokyidang which he has worked with before, and he pulled the energy with the music during reception. He also coordinated music with our live singer/guitarist during reception, our cellist during ceremony, and guitarist for praise during ceremony. So many moving parts and David took care of it all. Work with him. Very chill easy to work with guy read more

David was the DJ & MC for our wedding, and he delivered such top notch service! Starting with the intake process, he was incredibly kind and patient, and it was easy to see how much he cared about supporting us as a couple. He provided great recommendations when we weren't sure about what kind of ceremony music to choose, and even accommodated very last minute music changes to our grand entrance to reception! He was great at reading the vibe of the room, and checked in with our officiant to make sure they were all set for their first time officiating. He also checked in with us throughout the day, which was very appreciated! Our guests even commented about how professional his audio set up was, and he was super flexible with transitioning the party indoors due to local noise ordinances. David was the most amazing DJ for our wedding. All of our guests told us that it was the best wedding they've been to and that was in no small part thanks to David. 10/10 Absolutely amazing experience working with David!! He was not only our DJ but also our MC! We had our wedding in October this year and I realized today that my first review never got posted, but I really wanted to express my gratitude so if you're reading this David, my husband and I want to just thank you again for all your help in playing a huge part of our wedding!! David is professional in his preparations/meetings, flexible with any changes or updates (things happened so much leading up to the wedding day :') ), and was just hands down the best at entertaining our guests. He truly went above and beyond to transition through all of our order of events smoothly and then when we got through all the formalities, we had a blast partying and dancing! David was the very first DJ/MC we spoke with for our wedding, and it was clear after our conversation that we didn't really need to talk to anyone else. On our Zoom call, he took his time with us to understand what we were truly looking for and to know our music likes/dislikes. We also expressed concern that we don't really dance ourselves and we would have a mixed group of older and younger guests, but David was able to put as at ease with his suggestions and advice. I was extremely impressed, and I knew that we had found our guy. Leading up to the wedding, we had a few more calls with David to run through our song choices, ask questions, and to go over our timeline. He was always well prepared and organized, and I knew we were in good hands. Being a DJ/MC is undeniably a difficult job, but David made it look easy on our wedding day. He has this sort of calm charisma that can really energize the room and make people feel comfortable. We got tons of compliments from our guests about the music throughout the day and the flow of the night (the games were a big hit!). The dance floor was never empty--and my partner and I loved every minute of being on it! All in all, David is amazing to work with and will make your event unforgettable. I highly recommend hiring him. Thank you David! read more

I have no other words, thank David is amazing! David was our DJ/MC for our wedding this past weekend and we can honestly say that he provided above and beyond our expectations. Thank You for Being the Best DJ/MC! We can't thank you enough for being the best DJ and MC at our wedding! You were recommended to us by Gigi, and we're so grateful she connected us. David is incredibly easy to work with and genuinely kind. We highly recommend booking him for any wedding or special event. He's versatile, professional, and happy to provide a custom set list upon request. He communicates clearly and promptly over email, and we really appreciated the Zoom calls -- one before booking and another the week of the wedding to finalize song choices. It gave us so much peace of mind and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Thank you again, David, for making our celebration so memorable! read more

The bottom line: you will NOT regret hiring David as your DJ/MC. David was one of the first vendors we booked and it was the initial meeting with him that sold us right away. He's got a soft confidence and charm that makes you feel heard and taken care of, and this translates to how he is as a DJ/MC as well. His voice and energy will make your guests feel comfortable and energized at the same time. And he really knows his music - he listened to all our requests and suggestions, and was able to curate a playlist that fit everything we were looking for. We received compliments from guests about the music during the ENTIRE wedding (ceremony, dinner, and reception/dance floor!). He also knows how to please a crowd of different generations - we had family and friends all on the dance floor! David truly is the whole package - he's got the expertise and skill AND the thoughtfulness and charisma. We'd book him again and again! 100/10 would recommend! read more

David was an incredible DJ for our wedding! Multiple friends recommended him from other weddings they've attended, and so we booked him and so glad we did! From the start, he was personable, easy to work with, and genuinely cared about making our celebration special. His smooth, soothing voice made for perfect MCing, and his music selection kept the dance floor energized all night. We told him we wanted an eclectic mix of 70s funk/disco, 80s synth-pop, and hits from the 90s, 2000s, and today--David seamlessly blended it all with flawless transitions. He has an amazing ability to read the crowd and play exactly what keeps the energy going. Beyond his talent, David's kindness and presence was felt by our guests with casual interactions. My mother appreciated how the DJ acknowledged her wedding prayer and found it so thoughtful of him to reach out and share his kind words. You can just tell the man is very genuine and has a lot of heart. We're grateful we chose him. Thank you, David, for making our wedding unforgettable! read more

I had been looking for a MC and DJ for awhile, and after having our initial Zoom chat, I knew he was perfect for us. He was very easy to talk with and created a very comfortable and calming atmosphere around him in what would otherwise be a stressful and chaotic time for us. He was very helpful and responsive, and offered suggestions when we had concerns for certain things. He was also very accommodating, even we had to put plans on hold as we had to find a new venue and date. During the event, we had specific song requests for our ceremony and reception, and he incorporated them so beautifully. Everything went so smoothly. I also really wanted to include a few games during our reception, and David delivered! It was such an amazing and memorable time. 10/10 I highly recommend David for your events! read more

David was an excellent DJ and MC! He is fun, kind, charismatic, respectful, organized, responsive, flexible... all the character traits that you would want for your wedding DJ/MC. Starting from our initial Zoom call to the wedding day, he made us feel at ease about the entire process. We knew that we just needed to do what he tells us to do because he is so on top of it with all the details. Because of him, I was able to enjoy the reception/night without worrying about how the event is flowing. He is a charismatic MC. The way that he is able to grasp the audience's attention is amazing, and he's made our guests laugh continuously throughout the night. His music choices were great, and I love how he does not have his own set list because every wedding, every couple is different. He truly caters to your music taste. I would totally recommend him to be DJ/MC for your wedding! read more

My wife and I just used David as our DJ and MC for our wedding last weekend. From the planning phase to the wedding itself, we couldn't have asked for anything more. He's professional, easy to work with, quick to respond, and most importantly, an awesome DJ. I gave him the vague music theme of "I want it to feel like prom back in the mid-00's" and he took it from there. The dance floor was gettin' low the whole night. The guests were having fun, I was having fun, and judging from the videos he was having fun too. The music and vibe even had our usually dead-serious wedding planner getting down on the dance floor. That should tell you enough about what you'll get if you go with David/ HiFly DJ Events. Thanks for everything, David. I wish I could get married again just to relive it all. read more

One of the most common feedback we got was the wedding playlist. As millennials getting married with a majority millennial guest list, David hit it out of the park. We also gave him our recommended playlist and he made sure we consistently had good music. David both listened to us and made sure to get the crowd going. The proof, people were dancing pretty much till closing. He was also a great MC, making sure the program ran smoothly, guests knew what to do, and everyone was enjoying themselves. He was super professionally, checking in with us a few times before the wedding date to make sure we felt 100% confident. Would definitely recommend him! read more

David was our DJ/MC for our wedding last year on 11/30/24. One of our friends actually knew him back in high school and recommended him to us. David has been nothing but helpful, kind, supportive, and professional ever since our first zoom meeting. He was very organized and gave us lots of resources and templates to help prepare for our wedding. Our wedding went flawlessly and David made sure everything went smoothly and that the music fit the vibes at all times. We created playlists with our recommended and "must play" songs and David, with his musical knowledge, even went further beyond and mixed in other songs that matched our guests tastes and energy (they all mentioned how amazing of a DJ/MC he was!). David was also very easy to talk to and reliable. Our guests and other vendors were very comfortable talking with him throughout the wedding and all of the transitions during the wedding were seamless and natural. All in all, David is very reliable and he definitely knows what he's doing. He is humble, yet confident. We didn't have to worry about anything because we knew David had it all in the bag.
