The owner/operator, Jessica, has boundless energy and welcomes regulars and new customers as if they were family. Small diners are very much a part of the cultural and culinary fabric of Ontario, and Copper Spoons is a quality example of same. Fast, hot and scrumptious food served with attention to detail; it doesn't get much better!

I felt at home. Today's morning was bad time for me. My compainion, the man siting at the table with me just broke up with me before taking me for breakfast. I guess to make me feel better, but it did not work this way. Who made me feel all better was sir Dimitri. He was like father figure who cares. I am greatful for sir Dimitri. The grocery area closes at six on Sundays so we didn't get to peruse the aisles this time but some good finds there too! Service was also great, our server was attentive and nice.

The restaurant was clean, well decorated with the gangsters theme from the movies and TV shows. Sarah was extremely friendly and helpful and attentive. You couldn't ask for better service. We both ordered the House Special and the food came reasonably quickly and hot. The only complaint that I have was that the potatoes (dollar chips) were processed and deep fried but OK. My buddy asked for a sausage/bacon combo instead of one choice, and Sara said there was a $1 charge - reasonable. Overall, a pleasant experience and generally good food.

I had a Hungry Man's breakfast, which was pretty generously portioned. 3 eggs, ham, bacon, and sausage (all 3), as well as potatoes and toast, and coffee. The potatoes can be a "potato pancake" kind of thing, which is sort of mashed potatoes with onions. Taste wise, it was pretty much par for the course. Salty, just like I like breakfast. Nothing spectacular here, and you get what you expect. Value is pretty good, the whole thing cost me ~$7.50 after tax. If in Peterborough and looking for a well-priced, standard eggs+meat breakfast, Lori's will do the trick.

It seemed like the entire downtown was a ghost town with nothing open, and not a person in sight, then The Only Cafe appeared out of the fog with a hopping patio, and music blaring from inside, seeping out the open windows. The layout is very interesting with the side patio, with filtered light coming through the foilage along the west side, perfect for a lovely late afternoon setting sun. We sat inside where there are small two-tops, with each table having a cute lamp and plenty of artwork to ogle while you eat. I ordered a grilled cheese and side salad, which were great! Looking like something I would make for myself, the grilled cheese was on German rye bread and the salad was basic lettuce, peppers and tomato and absolutely delicious! The IPA they served up on tap went perfectly with my food, adding the bitterness to the sweet salad flavours bringing me absolute joy. Worth the trip to Peterborough and The Kawarthas!
