My French onion soup and pitcher of hot tea, before being put on my table
    Pierre C.

Best parts: Friendly, helpful and attentive staff. They even gave me a ribbon because I was a "Diner Virgin ", cute! Huge selection. Really good price for portion. I order hot tea and got a pitcher of it...I loved that. Worst parts: Tastes average, I had the roast beef melt and onion soup. But still better than most chain restaurants. Looks cold inside even for a diner. Look on the outside would have never got me to go in if it wasn't for Yelp.

Been to St. Dave's twice now for the long weekend all you can eat brunch specials. Absolutely loved it here. My favourites are the ribs, pulled pork, fried pickles, and Mac and cheese. Ribs are meaty, sweet, and fall of the bone. Pulled pork is nice and tender, juicy, and sweet. Fried pickles have the right amount of breading, are juicy, and aren't too sour. Mac and cheese is perfect. Soft, cheesy, delicious. I like to dab on some cholula hot sauce. Beans are nice too.

Only 1 waitress serving the whole dining area so we had to wait until she appeared after 15 mins upon arrival. Philly Cheese Steak wasn't a bad option, Bread was soft, the BBQ sauce a little sweet but the beef were sliced thinly. Overall tasted a-OK. The pork schnitzel was a little bit of a disappointment. It was a little too thin that what we imagined, and a little small. Some parts were over-fried, giving it a little bitter taste. The veggies on the side were tastier than the main itself though they were over-boiled. Overall, it was definitely cheaper than the GTA, however it will be a first and last kind of thing for me.

They had a good selection of food to choose from and prices are pretty reasonable. Then it went downhill when we had to wait over half an hour for our food to come. I can understand if it was busy but it was pretty dead so I'm not so sure why it took so long to get our food. Their wets naps were totally not wet. When we opened one it was totally dry which makes you wonder how long it's been there. I definitely will not come back here. Wasn't too happy with the service. Food wise it was okay.

I had such high hopes for this place! My husband and I stopped in here for lunch during our day…read moretrip to Lindsay. I wish we hadn't.. It's nothing against the service. The waitress was friendly and nice. However the food was just gross. We ordered the warm spinach dip to start and man that was red flag number 1! First off, it said warm in the name and it was barely warm. It was my first time having cheddar cheese melted directly on top of a spinach dip. The flavor was off and the pita was the only thing warm on the dish. However, we ordered on to the next round of food. My husband ordered the fish tacos and I ordered the steak bites. My husband said the fish taco was "meh" and the strawberries inside the fish taco threw us both off. Who puts strawberries on a fish taco? My steak bites were incredibly sour, like the sauce had gone bad and incredibly sugary. I'm not quite sure what Korean BBQ flavor that was? It was just bad food and to pay $58 dollars for weird tasting food? Eek! Me thinks not is right! FYI: We both got some bad belly later that night. Never again.

The waitress we had was lovely and very personable. The food we got looked and tasted delicious. By far my favourite was the butter chicken Bowl, if you go here I definitely recommend it. Overall, I would 10 out of 10 recommend this place to a friend or bring a date here.

I felt like I was a regular! Super win. The breakfast prices were very good. The coffee was decent, and the food was OK. The hash browns were a bit dry and under-cooked, but not a deal-breaker. The eggs, bacon, and toast were fab, though. But the butter tart! WOAH! Amazing. I love these runny butter tarts that do this amazing dance on your tongue of sweet and tangy. Tender pastry, too. Highly recommended. I am only sad I didn't bring home a dozen. My waistline is probably pleased that I did not, however. Anyhow - if you are in Lindsay and need an inexpensive meal, or just an amazing dessert, you could do a whole lot worse than Buttertarts N More!

But I went there for butter-tarts and that is my fav pastry, I was disappointed in the tart, for a good butter tart has to have a flaky pastry and a gooey inside which it did but the flavour which is hard to mess up tasted strange like maybe lemon juice was in it or possibly vinegar it overpowered the best part of the butter tart. So with that being said I would not purchase butter tarts from there I bought 6 and my parents said the same about the tarts. Normally we fight over butter tarts in our family.
