This place is adorable. The decor makes you feel like you are in a tropical cafe. The staff is friendly and attentive and they have a covered back patio that is perfect during the warmer months. My one beef is that the prices are high. On my visit, someone in my party got the poke bowl ($18!) and it was tiny. I had the Bahn Mi with tofu and salad. It was delicious, especially the salad, which had what seemed like granola on top. Overall it is a place worth checking out, just be prepared for a large tab. read more

My friend took me here for my birthday as I am a huge fan of fun drinks and never heard of this place. I wanna say the parking is probably a con but their drinks here are pretty strong so probably should uber anyway. I triple fisted drinks, it's just how I roll. I tried the "other side" (skull mug) and "king ku" (giant tiki seemingly most popular). They were both well worth the fun presentation, taste delicious, made generously strong and were not too sweet! I don't remember what the third drink was called LOL. Just to soak up the alcohol (because who honestly goes here for anything but the alcohol - the menu of food is very small to support that thought), we tried the chicken dumplings and ricotta toast which were both very delicious! Id say the only negatives of our experience were that the waitress did not come to our table at all for nearly 10 minutes from being seated to meeting the waitress but she was lovely. It was hard to hear ourselves talk. However I enjoyed the drinks and we didn't wait long with our reservation. I adore this place! Polynesian Pop and tiki culture is alive and well in Pittsburgh within this hidden gem. The drink menu changes seasonally so you never know what type of tiki treat you might find, but rest assured the unique funky glasses they are served in is just a hint at the amazing flavors inside the cups. I recently came back to Hidden Harbor after seeing a post of theirs on IG. My cousin and I came in on a Tuesday. They told us they were doing their Tiki Time Machine menu (which runs every Tuesday through the end of August) so we decided to try some drinks on the menu. I like that they have the potency of each drink so you're aware of what you're getting into. Lol The first drink I ordered was the jet pilot. The presentation of all of their drinks is top notch. I also ordered the Singapore Sling, which was also tasty. When you do the tiki Time Machine, they give you a passport and they stamp off each drink once you try it. After coming here with my friend, I immediately loved the decoration in the place with its vacation-esque environment. I don't know if there's a food menu, we just reached for the drink menu. I've come here a couple of times, and my favorite drinks are Night Ripper, Hidden Harbor Rum Barrel, Monsoon Mist, and O.M.G. Almost all of the drinks have rum incorporated in them because of the tiki theme. If you have a party of 2, I would definitely recommend the Monsoon Mist. If you have a larger party, definitely try the O.M.G. The servers here are also very polite and cater to where you want to sit. During the summer, I definitely recommend sitting out back and enjoying the weather. I would definitely come here again and have done so. Good Place. We go there often, Girl that seats you is a bit of a rascal. Could be a little nicer and accommodating. Shes a bit of a stinker when you ask for a particular place to sit. I have a bad back so i asked her if i could have a seat with a back to it and not a stool. She more a less told me wish in one hand and poop in the other and see which one fills up first. LOL. I'm a massive tiki enthusiast, and Hidden Harbour was definitely worth the drive from Toronto! The decor is absolutely gorgeous, with the bar divided into two very distinct halves and beautifully decorated throughout. I had the Hidden Harbour Rum Barrel and it's the best rum barrel I've had to date, with the Pair 'o Sails, Zombie, and Buccaneer Grog also being incredibly delicious! 10/10 on drinks, even in the presentation. Beautiful mugs (sadly none for sale), and amazingly elaborate garnishes that are just too stunning. Good service can make or break a tiki bar, and I was delighted to find the staff of Hidden Harbour to be some of the friendliest and warmest folks I've had the pleasure of meeting in the tiki community. The bar staff really care about their drinks and really ensure their visitors have a great experience. Special shoutout to bartender Chris for the lovely company and cocktail chitchat throughout the night at our bar-adjacent window seat, as well as a HUGE thank you to Victor (apologies if I've got the name wrong) for being so friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic for our excitement to be there! Great night getting drinks and listening to the DJ who came out for the Hi Tide Winter Holiday event. When we came in it was very busy and we did not have a reservation. The hostess provided excellent service throughout the night to us and all the other guests. He helped us find bar seats which was great. The bartenders also provided wonderful service. We were quickly given water and menus once we sat at the bar. The ambience was great, tiki decor everywhere, nice mood lighting, and fun cups that you could purchase and take home! We tried three different drinks and they were all delicious. One of the great parts of the menu is it lists both drink prices and drink strength. One of their stronger drinks even had a two drink limit. They also had large shareable drinks and recommended serving sizes. Our favorite was the painkiller, it was sweet and didn't have a strong alcohol taste. Overall a great time getting drinks! Every time I go there I run into someone from out of town who has made a point to stop here for a drink or two. The decor transforms you to a tropical beach tiki hut. We got the monsoon mist to share between 2 people and it tasted great and came in a puffer fish glass which was so cute! Hidden Harbor is (by some stroke of luck) my local cocktail bar! Their drinks are some of the best in the burgh. I have made my way through most of these and my favourites are the pineapple daquiri (made w local Maggie's rum!) and the other side. As for food, their smaller plates are better. I enjoyed their arancini and the fries which are crisp and come with a lovely aioli. This bar/restaurant is tucked away in quaint Squirrel Hill, but you will be immediately transported into a tropical oasis. The drinks were all so delicious and beautifully decorated!! Drinks ranged from ~ $13-16, but the bartenders seemed to be generous on the pours. On Tuesday nights they have put a secret menu with additional cocktails not on their standard menu which we thought was cool. We didn't get a chance to try the food, but will have to stop by in the future for a meal. Although we didn't have a reservation, we were able to be seated promptly on a weekday night. However, I did get a sense from the host that usually reservations are highly encouraged. read more

We are Tiki aficionados, and my husband declared our dinner some of the best food he has ever had at a Tiki bar. The atmosphere was definitively Tiki, though it was quite warm in the place when we arrived. We started with a gin based cocktail for two In a fun bowl. The drink was delicious. We just wished we could have purchased the bowl for our collection. We also ordered the dumplings, chicken sate and a park dish that were all outstanding. The coconut rice was outstanding. We were having so much fun we forgot to double check our bill and had to resolve it after the fact, but it was promptly taken care of. The décor makes the place stand out among other bars. I'd definitely recommend to choose the indoor seating option to enjoy this. Drinks and food: They have an extensive drink menu with exotic presentations. We ordered the Ghost Ship and the Riptide. The Riptide was what you expect from a citrus drink with a hint of ginger. The Ghost Ship is a very berry drink. But I was taken by surprise that the ice was crushed and mixed in the drink. It was a pleasant surprise. We also ordered arancini as a starter. Though arancini is an Italian dish, they made it tropical and exotic - with their pomegranate. When you open the arancini, the aioli sauce oozes out and it makes you crave for yet another bite into it. Service: This is an extremely safe tiki bar to visit during Covid times! They allow only patrons who are vaccinated and boosted - they check the proof before allowing you to a table. I do recommend booking a table through their website beforehand. You do have to pay for holding the spot and that gets deducted from your bill. A 20% gratuity is added to your bill by default. The person who took our table gave very helpful suggestions. Also remember that the kitchen closes at 9:45 pm and they serve drinks till closing time. Hidden Harbor was the last place I went for a drink before the pandemic hit in early 2020 and I've missed it greatly. I went for the first time since March 2020 last week and it was so nice to enter the fun and whimsical space again after over two years! Hidden Harbor is split into two rooms, one that is more bar-oriented with high tops and the other that is more dining-oriented with booths and tables and a cushioned seated area. My friend and I decided to sit on the dining oriented side, as we planned to eat some small bites. We were promptly visited by a server and we placed our orders easily! Having perused the options, we decided to share some apps and each enjoyed two fun cocktails from their ever changing menu. I first tried their Jet Pilot cocktail which was STRONG, as advertised! It was refreshing and delicious and came in a barrel-type glass. The apps we enjoyed were the veggie dumplings and arancini. They were both delicious and filling! Afterwards, I tried the Painkiller cocktail. I had previously ordered this drink in years past and it was not frozen on those occasions, but now it is presented as a frozen drink rather than on the rocks. It was still as flavorful as ever! We shared the olive oil cake to finish things off and it was lovely and fluffy with crystalized mint and berries. This is a great spot to visit for snacks and drinks if you want to try some items that you wouldn't see at a typical bar, and it's such a fun ambiance! It does get busy on the weekends, but they do take reservations on their website. Since we visited on a weeknight we had no issue getting a table. They have a back patio with outdoor seating and I hope to try out that area on a future visit. Fun little tiki styled bar. Not over-the-top like most tiki bars, where every square inch of the place is plastered with something. The decor was more tasteful, almost even upscale. All in all the cocktails were decent and packed a tropical wallop. Nice chill bar with low lighting and cool cozy nooks to hang with friends in. I'd go back! One note: the darker side, opposite the bar, could use maybe one or two larger beach themed pieces along the ceiling, like a canoe, or a couple long surfboards.
