Totally understood--and I had every intention to pay once I set our things down! The kids had a blast in the water and loved the volleyball net. We weren't thrilled about the ducks everywhere, but other families seemed to enjoy them. The snack shack had lunch options and snacks at reasonable prices. It's tucked away behind the RV area but a short walk to the playground, general store and canoeing area! They have a fire pit with build in grill area. The best part was the kitchenette and bathroom! We didn't need to technically leave to go anywhere once we arrived! There was hours of fun in and around the tent area. We have pitched a tent here but we have been really spoiled so I don't know if I could go back to a tent- lol. It was very great for our 2 year old. The downside that there was a lot of rain so we had a TON of stink bugs but maintenance quickly came and go rid of them. We don't mind bugs as it camping after all but it was beyond what I could handle. We highly recommend anyone that wants to do some camping but not really get down and dirty and deal with a tent.

It took 3 spotter's just to back into my site with all the trees, boulders and super tight angles! Insanely tight road to my site (401) huge rock and boulder around tight curves. That was the hardest site to back in that I have ever had. Not a way to start a vacation with that stress! Horribly unleveled, with trees in front and a very bad angle to get into this site. Tree with a rats nest of wires above our site, above ground sewer lines that was higher than my drain. Site 401 should be for seasonal members not people here for short term visits! The bathroom is newer, and clean and that is nice, staff was friendly. But the insanely hard site to get into will make this a 1 time visit never to return.

Admittedly Newbie camper here, but BF seasoned one. Came to French Creek with 21' travel trailer…read moreand Toyota truck. We chose a site in Loop C with only an electric hookup. The site in Loop C was horrible. The asphalt pad was super narrow and uneven and very difficult to back into even for my seasoned companion. The road in front was also narrow and the grassy area we needed to pull into to back in the site led to a ditch. This left our truck barely within the site and our trailer listing to the right despite all efforts to level. The campsite itself was big enough but 3/4 was covered with large rocks, so unusable. We were hard pressed to get 3 chairs around the fire pit. Driving around I noticed yurts, cabins and cottages and nice, level, full hookup sites. The campsites are rather close together so if you are looking for privacy, look elsewhere. The bath house was fine, and plenty of dump stations and water. Only a couple "easy" trails and those were also filled with rocks and tree branches so difficult for new hikers to enjoy the scenery-- at least for me. Awoke this morning to gunfire from hunters in nearby woods! Again, maybe normal but spooked this newbie. As for amenities there are none. No place in park to buy food or necessities. Go to Birdsboro for everything you need before you settle in.
