In response to the one star reviews below, I'm assuming that they're American tourists like myself. I was a little bummed that I couldn't tour the distillery as well, but I did some research and found out that the Australian food safety laws are super strict, and it's just too expensive for these boutique distilleries to comply with them in order to provide tours and full meals. This also effects the beer and wine industries, with most of those vendors also opting to not offer tours. Call me a softy, but I can't deduct stars for something which is out of the distillery's control. I can, however comment on my experience. Rachaell was my server and was great conversation (something which is much appreciated when traveling alone). She gave me a personal tour of the museum, and I feel like I might have been able to talk her into showing me the actual distillery if some other tourists hadn't walked in. When I told Rachaell that I was going to hike the nearby Witches Falls Trail, she even gave me a copy of the "Mount Tamborine Bible" (tourist guide, ha!), so I wouldn't get lost. She gave me generous pours, and the liqueurs were so good! Everything was crazy smooth, with no overpowering alcohol burn, or sugary sweetness. Whatever the label said, that's what it tasted like. Strawberry liqueur? Tasted like strawberries. Coffee liqueur? Tasted just like coffee. You get the picture. They also have one of the best absinthes that I've ever had. The only absinthe I've ever encountered and thought to myself "I could probably drink this straight or on the rocks." I ended up bringing 3 bottles back stateside, and would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again!
