This review will highlight the Ambiance, Service, Wine and Steak. Ambiance was really good. I liked the general layout, the setting and overall it was energetic, but not over the top. Service was really good as well. Our server was interactive, and did a good job of managing the table. Sides were decent, but nothing spectacular. I do think they have a good way to bundle them together. We had the fries, Mac and Cheese and the Heirloom tomato's. The Fries and Mac and Cheese were similar to something you can find many places. The tomato dish I thought was really good, but my wife was not a big fan. I liked how it gave an acidic contrast to the fat in all of the other items. Wine List was decent, the markup was on the high side, but barely acceptable. I think they made over $100 on the bottle of wine I chose because I can find it for $100 cheaper in the bottle shop (and the bottle is less than $100 in the bottle shop). Where they fell short (for me) was on the steak. Considering it is a steak place, I should probably articulate why. There are three core components to what I will highlight about the steak. 1) Meat quality. 2) The Cook 3) Seasoning/flavour. At our table we ordered 4 different steaks. One off the kids menu which were the skewers - must have been good because my daughter ate all of it. My wife and son each ordered the traditional 200g Fillet. I had a couple of bites and it was well, a fillet that was cooked properly. My steak was from the Waygu side and that's where things fell short. When ordering a Waygu (even a cross breed) you expect buttery and tender. I ordered the F1 Striploin. I have had this a couple of times in the past at other places and found it to be exceptional at the other places, so that is my basis of comparison. What I got was a cut of meat where probably 1/3 was so tough because of the way the fat was in the cut that I effectively left it on the plate. Even the normal bites I found to be tougher than when I have bought Australian Waygu at Costco of a similar cut. It was pretty disappointing to say the least. In terms of the cook, I think each of the steaks were cooked really close to what we asked. My wife's cut may have been a little over done for medium, but still good. Finally, the seasoning. These steaks rely heavily on adding a sauce or something. They basically come unseasoned. I have been to many steak houses where you can eat the steak without a sauce and it's good. I am here on vacation, but overall I don't know that I would go again. However, if I were to do it over I would have tried the F3 Tenderloin instead. Moo Moo is a very popular steakhouse in Gold Coast and Brisbane. I had been wanting to try it out for years but finally made a reservation to go. Parking was quite a bit tough as its in the center of Broadbeach and the atmosphere was different than expected. Upon entering we noticed a bunch of extremely drunk people yelling at the bar. Once we were escorted to the main dining room the music started blasting so loud you could barely hear each other. It was not the setting I expected for a date night. The service and food was all delicious and the steaks were so fantastic I forgot to even take a picture of them! However after our main meals it took forever to get attention of a waitress. It took half an hour to have one come over as we flagged her down and said we had been waiting for a dessert menu. Again she disappeared and after awhile my partner went up to the hostess to ask for it. However it turned out the kitchen was swamped and they were making a surprise dessert for us due to celebrating a special occasion. We were super surprised and thankful but wish we could have at-least been informed there would be a long wait and not just sat there wondering what happened to the service. read more

Although my meals were delightful, I was unimpressed with the service on the particular night. Having been to MooMoos in the past, and experienced a higher level of service, I am not too happy about the time it took to order drinks and to receive table service after being seated. That being said, it was well worth the wait. I'll always be a guest of MooMoos when in need of a nice steak. read more

We shared the rump roast for two which was prepared perfectly, our sides included onion rings, potatoes and a nice salad. Our waiter paired the meal with a nice Australian Shiraz. Quite possibly the BEST steak I've ever had (and I've eaten a lot of steaks over the years in a lot of locations)! A group of 4 of us started by sharing the special - venison sausages with chocolate sauce, and also the Bang Bang Duck (warm salad). The sausages were delicious, and really tasty, although personally I couldn't imagine eating a whole main course of these as they are really rich. The duck salad was fantastic, great flavours, and the duck super moist, which was shredded at the table in front of us. We opted for the Moo Moo special for 4 people, which includes the steak and a variety of sides and sauces. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection, with the most incredible flavour - sauces actually aren't necessary (but nice to have). We shared the hot chocolate brownie for dessert, which was seriously good as the brownies are baked to order and brought still in the pan, piping hot, straight to the table. Again, another rich dish, and one was enough to share for the table. A few reviews mention that Moo Moo's is a bit on the pricey side, but to be honest feel it's pretty good value considering the quality and quantity of the food. Three course dining and a couple of bottles of wine for under $100 per head for some sensational food in a restaurant with great atmosphere seems reasonable to me. read more

Had a great dinner with a friend from work, both of us work in restaurants so we went in with high expectations which most were met. The service was good our waiter Aymeric was very knowledgeable in regards to the menu, he was very attentive without being annoying. The steaks were great not the best I've had especially for the price but they did a pretty decent job. The side dishes were rather disappointing dry and undercooked but over all a good night out. That's my winner during this stay at Gold Coast. It's difficult to deal with all the booze rules and closed restaurants on a Good Friday. 've read a lot of the reviews here and they appear to be mixed. We had the Wagyu beef for two. It was cooked perfectly and very tasty. As for the service, I believe our servers name was Scott. Moo Moo has a great atmosphere and attentive waiters but is sadly let down by overpriced and small servings. On my last visit my tiny $40 steak was way underdone, taken back on the advice of the waiter and returned ten minutes later one third smaller in size! The wine is also very expensive. absolutely appauling service! Would not recommend. Came here with the family and we were treated poorly by the staff. Had reserved a spot for a group of people. We were situated outside near the footpath and were told that we needed to be within the confines of a particular boundary due to liquor licensing rules. We fully understood the requirements and complied with the rules. Not two minutes later (as we were greeting other family members) we were ORDERED to take a seat or leave! I completely understand the concerns of the staff in their need to comply with council regulations but the manner and form in which they treated us was NOT ON! Will be following up this complaint with management and strongly urge others to avoid this establishment. read more
