The hotel was spotlessly clean.....my number one expectation! Plenty of parking, nice lobby, and great grab and go style breakfast. Nothing fancy but quick and easy! The bathrooms had soap and shampoo dispensers vs. soap bars and little bottles... better for our environment. We will definitely try one again in another location! The drive to the speedway was approximately 40 minutes on major byways so it was a relatively convenient location to post up in for my extended weekend. The lobby of Tru was very welcoming, with an unusual main desk at the center of things instead of tucked away against a wall. There was lots of seating in this area to enjoy the included breakfast (the automatic pancake machine, oh my god so good) and to hang out or wait for others to meet up. Foosball table, large television, etc. The rooms were equally as inviting. Lots of natural light but with the ability to really black things out in the room with a roll down curtain. The non-carpeted flooring was a nice, modern change. Beds were very comfortable, sheets clean, spacious layout, flat screen tv, mini fridge, etc. In-ground indoor pool was a nice option to have during our stay. Didn't seem all that popular among the guests staying at the same time as me since it was always empty but appreciated none-the-less. The hotel itself is situated in a concrete jungle so though there was a small outdoor seating area, don't expect much ambiance in terms of the outdoor space. Located next to a gas station, food store, and some strip mall restaurants - this hotel is convenient, serviceable, and an excellent option if you are in need of a place to stay in the middle of Delaware.

This year I had one underwhelming six-day stay that prompted a less-than-favorable review. But everyone deserves a second chance. The responsiveness to my feedback--through follow-up emails, calls, and genuine concern from Jamie (Manager)--motivated my spouse and me to give it another try over Labor Day weekend. I'm glad we did. Every one of my earlier concerns was addressed. Service was impeccable, with special thanks to Jamie and Dana, a dynamic managerial duo whose leadership raised the hotel right back to the gold standard. We look forward to building more Lewes memories here, with this property as the cornerstone of the Hyatt crown. Stop reading, book your stay, and enjoy. You're welcome in advance!

There are a variety of spaces located around the Inn where you could sit outside of your room including the huge porch and several smaller areas with fire pits outside, one even has a relaxing fountain. There's a penned-in area where you can allow your dog to run and sniff off-leash, and sometimes there were other dogs -- including Birdie -- for our dog to play with. Since we visited during covid the housekeeping staff was helpful and friendly about exchanging out towels and giving us additional supplies like toilet paper while connecting in the hallway. We really appreciate that the toilet flushes well, but holy cow, keep a safe distance when flushing or you might lose something. Overall it was a good stay but we feel that something needs to be done to the parking entry area. Twice during our four days the entry (shared with Walmart and another retail space) was almost impassable with deep water that doesn't appear to drain properly. This isn't acceptable in our opinion and should be fixed as soon as possible.
