We were at The Atlantic Hotel for brunch on 8/17/2025. The food was fantastic as always. My wife ordered the Honey Ham and cheese omelet and I had the Ultimate Grilled Cheese. Our meals were filling and delicious!! We highly recommend this establishment if you are in the area.

The wait wasn't too bad considering the size of the Octoberfest crowds. Service was very good. A bit of a wait on food but understandable. Had the special Bratwurst sandwich, It could have had less mustard gravy and a bit more kraut. The crab dip was yummy and had a nice assortment of dipping chips, bread and crackers.

We had such high hopes based on the food accounts that people had given us when we told him we were stopping in Berlin Maryland. We loved walking the town we loved exploring the first floor of the hotel food on patron's plates looked delicious and very large portions. However, perhaps we ordered the wrong items we were swirly sorely displeased. Or serving McKenzie was very courteous very helpful. However, I guess expectations were a little different than what was delivered. We ordered the muscles for two to one of my favorite dishes however, it was very underwhelming flavor profile and a tiny tiny dried up muscles really was a turn off And even the crab soup that we had ordered other than being cold, tasted like it came out of a can Note, it's very hard for me to give ones and twos. When I mainly give fives based on the research that we do in the restaurants we go to in the relationship we built with our serve to understand the menu cooking preparations to help prepare for a memorable experience, this one not so memorable .

The Atlantic Hotel reminds me of one of my favorite bar/restaurants back at home. Every Summer (and occasionally in the Fall) we stay in Selbyville, DE and this is one of our must stop destinations. The servers we get are always friendly, the building is beautiful and historic, the drinks are creatively crafted, the menu has something for everyone, and the food is fantastic. We sat outside during the week. The weather was great, but it wasn't too busy. we started with fresh-squeezed crushes (a watermelon, orange, and grapefruit). All three were delicious and among the best crushes we had all week on our vacation from numerous different restaurants in Maryland and Delaware. The grapefruit was my favorite of the three. I also ordered a bourbon peach smash, which I loved, with bourbon and peach schnapps. When it came to our food order we split the crab dip which is another must order when we dine here (highly recommend). My mom and aunt split a grilled cheese roast beef sandwich. My aunt and I split mahi tacos. I ordered the mussels for two (emphasis on the "for two" it was so much food!). Everything exceeded expectations. Loved the bread that was used to make the grilled cheese. The mahi was fresh and blackened perfectly. The sauce the mussels were served in was flavorful and they even came with two wings and two Buffalo fried shrimp. They were breaded but the breading was light. If I had to pick something I'd change about our visit or the menu it would be the chips served with the crab dip. I would've preferred more crackers or bread. The chips have a seasoning on them I'm not too fond of but we knew that prior to ordering. If you're looking for quality food and drinks near Ocean City, Maryland the Atlantic Hotel needs to be on your list. It was so good our family went back a second time later in the week (without me). With how great our experience was I can't imagine being disappointed by anything on the menu. The prices were extremely reasonable for the portion sizes and quality.

We had walked into another very small place to have a late breakfast after going around the Berlin Sunday farmers market, to find that when we were finally seated at 11:30am, they were only serving lunch. We found this restaurant by walking a bit down the street. Very nice employees and delicious breakfast options. Sitting outside on the porch was a bonus, the weather was great, the flowers were still pretty in the fall. Would definitely go again.

We had such great bar service during our lunchtime stop at the Atlantic Hotel. Gorgeous hotel (I love old historic places) and friendly staff. Our bartender even went outside to pick the mint for my mojito. My Greek salad was not a traditional Greek, but I loved it! So many veggies going on in that salad. Really good homemade dressing. The Reuben was huge and delicious. The Atlantic is a great compliment to a cute town!

Fillet special, meat temperature was medium, precisely as requested, seasoned perfectly.

Second visit on our vacation. We brought friends with us. They had never been to Berlin before. It did not disappoint.

Extremely mediocre food, cute restaurant. Located in the picturesque and quaint downtown of Berlin, the Atlantic Hotel feels old-timey and cozy. The service was good and accommodating. The food was average and disappointing. The presentation was lackluster, and everything tasted fine but not great. We got the brie with fruit, Maryland crab soup, garden salad, fish tacos, and ultimate grilled cheese. I would maybe come back for dinner or just drinks, but not for brunch.

Some highs and lows, though an overall enjoyable lunch. A LOT OF LUNCH OPTIONS. The lunch menu is very impressive and had a lot of delicious looking options. I opted for the fish tacos, and my partner got the crab cake chicken sandwich. Unfortunately, my fish was overcooked. The rest of the taco worked fairly well, I just wish it had some mayo type element to tie things together. The tortilla chips on the plate were phenomenal and we could not stop eating them. Apparently they are guacamole chips and people frequently rave over them. The chicken crab cake sandwich was fine, though the pretzel bun was a real let down and not at all pretzily. FINALLY SNAGGED A TABLE IN THE OFF SEASON. This place was packed when we were in Berlin during the summer. In the summer they even have tables seated all around the front yard. We were grateful to snag a table in January to give lunch a try. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The phone came out quickly as well. The environment seemed to attract a lot of locals too. This really wasn't a bad experience, but we've eaten at some truly delicious places around the area so I don't know if it'd be worth making a return visit. Pro Tip: The people one table over from us mentioned their burger was over cooked. However, they also said the fish and chips were the best they'd ever had (they were new englanders) and they'd be back for it.

Found this in the nightstand drawer. I have no idea how long it's been there but isn't checking the drawers part of housekeeping?

Let me start off by saying that the staff at the front desk was super friendly and tried to make my stay as comfortable as possible. That said, my next comments describe things out of the front desk's control. You buy an old building, beware what you get. I started out in room 23, the Charlotte Room. It was a tiny room but I was alone so I didn't mind. There were 2 robes in the bathroom. And a plunger. I had a TV but when I turned it on a message popped up that read, "No internet connection". Because I had no working TV and no internet connection, they moved me to another room. Sinks have hot OR cold in sink not both, due to each separate spigots. You are burned or cold, no in between. At least the shower had one. Showers had enough hot water for a quick shampoo. After that, you conditioned your hair in tepid water. If you need to shave, forget about it, just cold. There was hardly any water pressure. No robe was in the room (Brontë Room, 11) they moved me to. A plunger is not so discreetly placed next this toilet as well, which is a first for me despite my extensive travels. I'm guessing the toilets clog a lot. The toilet paper was super thin and only 1-ply, the kind that's the cheapest to buy. This likely explains the odor of an outhouse that emanated from the bathroom towards the end of my 6-day stay. There was a Keurig on each floor and a sitting area, which meant I heard many conversations between ladies who loved to talk. Paper thin walls or loud guests? I'm guessing the former. It's a good thing I had earplugs but it didn't take the noise level out completely. It was bike week in Ocean City when I was there, unbeknownst to me in advance. They all visited Berlin. It was loud. Very loud. Not the hotel's fault but an advance warning would have been nice so I could have arrived later, had I chosen to. Peeling wallpaper in the living room (which is also the bedroom), mismatched nightstands, obviously thrifted. "Put something old in there, it'll be fine" is their mentality. Dropped something under a chair and found an Odoban container that contains a product to absorb odors hidden under the chair. The room also had a mini dehumidifier but that broke after a couple of days, at which point the musty smells started. Used the public restroom on the first floor when I was at the bar. Terribly dirty. The cleaners must clean it in the morning and call it a day, with no tidying up the place throughout the day. The waste disposal bin on the wall was hanging because one screw gave way or broke and again, the trusty plunger was right next to the toilet. I found an empty medication foil packet in the nightstand. Housekeeping fail. I stayed at another historic place after this stay in another town. It was exquisite. Updated rooms and good plumbing. Chocolates on my bed to welcome me. A water bottle I can keep. Free hot breakfast, free tea time. My shower was gloriously warm and I controlled it. Beautiful water pressure. Spacious room with oceanfront view. A refrigerator in every room, an iron and ironing board as well as a hair dryer. The restaurant's portions (Drummer's) are very large at the Atlantic so I inevitably had left overs but nowhere to keep them so food was wasted. I stayed there for almost a week but no iron. The Atlantic had no amenities I have come to expect from a hotel in this price range. I asked the front desk for extra lotion when my room was cleaned and my room was never cleaned, bed not made and no extra lotion. The 12 owners of the Atlantic spend nothing, nor does the renter/manager apparently. They are running this place into the ground and if the Mayor continues to not allow repairs that are not aligned with the age of the hotel, it's only a matter of time before it falls apart. Worse than it already has.

Another great dinner at the Atlantic Hotel! I had the special tonight which was Broiled Swordfish with Watermelon & Figs with some pancetta and prosciutto and a demi glacé sauce served with mash potatoes and locally grown green beans and carrot what made it even better was the figs were picked from their own tree! If this is ever on their menu when you're visiting it's a must try! The better half started her meal with the Shrimp Bisque and her entree was the Broiled Topped with jumbo lumps of crab & touched with citrus Buerre Blanc & a drizzle of mango puree. She decided on Creme Brûlée for desert. My SIL decided on a Filet Mignon of course it was perfectly cooked to her specifications of well done. My BIL Pan Seared Salmon Touched with Citrus Buerre Blanc & pomegranate glaze. We all enjoyed our meals in fact only one had room for some Creme Brûlée Special shout out to Hunter who was our server and who was very pleasant attentive and hospitable.

First visit to Berlin, America's coolest town, for shopping and sightseeing. Decided to have lunch at the Atlantic Hotel Drummers Café inside as it was a hot day. There is an enclosed screened porch. Took 20 minutes before we signaled someone to come over to serve. Pretty bad given that they seemed to be fully staffed and lots of folks running around. Mason C did come over and did apologize. We had a crab cake sandwich and chicken salad platter. Decent but very average food. Great ambiance at this Historic location but service and food lacking.

Upon checking in, Jan eyed us up and down and did not know what to make of two feminine women who didn't seem to just be friends, let alone an inter-racial couple (she would later tell us how open she was and even wanted to someday buy a purple Polka dotted bus and park it outside her church just to show how "accepting" she was...yes, like you, we do not know what that means either). Please keep in mind, that the entire time we spent on this porch with her she refused to make eye contact with my partner, who is a woman of color (she would continue to lean on her racist, gross belief that the white woman in the relationship must be the one paying for everything). Fast forward to the morning, where we would get knocks on our door for breakfast, jolted out of bed by her telling us we must get up. We were worried what would occur if we didn't join the other guests for her breakfast. We joined everyone in the dining room, where Jan stood over each guest and would ask if you didn't finish your plate "if you did not like it? No appetite?" Awkward to say the least especially when this was not a relative who you had to politely deal with. During the breakfast, we would hear off conversations from Jan's sermon (yes you read that right) of wanting to be like the English, her pride of Daughters of the Revolution and how she wished her family had come over on the Mayflower to even talks of how amazing the 13 colonies were and how pure New England blood lines are and her love of being a devote White Anglo Saxon Christian. Meanwhile her husband, Jim stood behind her looking rather afraid and traumatized (victim we presume and he isn't allowed to leave the kitchen). She even gave the group a question and answer of how each couple met but with no surprise, stopped at us, smiled weirdly and then went to the next couple. At the end of the weekend, we checked out as early as we could and never looked back again. Do yourself a favor, and check out other spots in Berlin; this one is just not worth it.
