Sadly, Hibachi Express has taken a turn for the worst. Our last two orders have been very, very late and today was just over the top. I placed my order online and it was supposed to be ready in 20 minutes, at 6:01 PM. We were there at 6:01 to pick it up and it wasn't ready. It took another 25 minutes before our order was received! The workers just blew us off and said that they were busy however there was not one person in the restaurant. You can tell the staff has changed and obviously they no longer care. The staff was very friendly and the wait wasn't too long. I didn't have high expectations for express hibachi but I couldn't finish it due to the scorched taste. The pink sauce also reminded me of pesto bismol and not the typical yum yum sauce so I didn't try it. read more

Service was terrible.The cashier was very unprofessional as she kept answering calls for takeout orders while the line was constantly growing to the door. When we got our food home, the very pink very "pink" sauce had wasted all over the bag because she slung the bag to me. The king tempura sushi was left out of the bag, and there was no complementary service when I returned the next day. While she had told me that they would cop me for my trouble on my drive back when I made it there, she said her manager could not. The rice was crispy and not steamed or cooked well. The vegetables were good, but the shrimp was hard and so was the rice. I do not recommend this hibachi restaurant. read more

Holy expensive batman!!! $13 for chicken yakimesi! The food was alright but I have to agree with the other reviewer: Go to OEC. Much cheaper, same food. Service was the same blank stare don't care look you get at all express hibachi places. I really love or the decor though. I was stationed in Korea and frequented Japan and this place has all the same feel. A little cheesy neon but I liked it. I would not come back. Lower the prices a bit and we can talk. read more

I have given this place more than its fair share of chances and last night was the last. My previous visits have included the cashier adding a tip AFTER I signed the receipt. Forgotten food in a to go order, Over priced and last night I called my order in and was told 8-10 minutes. No problem. I get there and 30 MINUTES LATER i say "Have you just totally forgotten me???" Yes they had lost my order. 1 HOUR from the time I walked in I finally got to leave. No offer of apology, no discount nothing. Just here ya go. I hate this crummy place. I'm basing my review on the other choices in the area. The prices here are decent and the food proportions are very generous. This restaurant is definitely an express restaurant as it isn't well equipped to hold large amounts of people. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. Chicken is sometimes dry. I've been here a few times and was heavily disappointed on my last visit. I always order the Philadelphia roll and get it fried and it's been good. However, this particular time I ordered it and they topped it with the Japanese mayo. I am allergic to mayonnaise and when they gave it to me, I mentioned my allergy and asked if I could get it without it as I've ordered it several times before and it's never had the mayo on it nor is it listed on the menu for this roll. They told me no. So I asked to speak to the manager, and the guy told me he was the manager and that he was not changing the meal and would not refund me. This place used to be good. The last 4 times I've visited there have been major problems. The food has been cooked improperly, I've been given the wrong food, and have even found "things" in my food. I've been here several times, and each time I have been disappointed. Not to mention, I always pass out afterwards from consuming too much MSG! Ugh. The fried rice is simply a lot of soy sauce, onions, and rice. The chicken is dry. The steak is dry (and they give you smaller proportions than the chicken). The vegetables are the only thing that tastes okay. Everything is seasoned with just soy sauce. That's all I taste. =( One time I was craving sushi, and ordered salmon sushi, but the little salmon pieces on top of the rice were very thin and sad looking. Another time I craved soup, but the udon's soup base was just vegetable broth and bland. To be fair, they give you hefty proportions for the price you pay. It's a good, large proportioned meal for the poor college/grad student in a good location (across from campus in the Kroger's plaza). BUT if you want quality food, go somewhere else! read more

Visited on a Sunday evening. It's a small storefront. Clean. Their grade A from the health department was visible. The guy taking my order was very polite to the customers. I ordered the hibachi steak and shrimp dish. They portions were very generous. The food itself was a B for flavor but considering the price, the portion, and the service I will definitely visit again. read more
