I honestly will likely regret not gatekeeping this review, but Mia is a literal nail ANGEL!!!! She is honestly one of the best nail techs I've ever gone to and when I have to go somewhere else in a pinch I feel like I'm cheating on her. Not to mention, rarely anyone compares. She is so incredibly observant and detail oriented that she does not miss a thing. The process from start to finish is near perfection- and that applies to both finger nails and toes. Typically, I'd be more open to a pedicure elsewhere or by others, but nobody will take care of your ingrown toe nails or cuticles like Mia. As for the facility- Hi Tech is very clean and I love that you can book appointments online. It's roomy and clean and the staffs are nice. However, the lady who did my pedicure kept talking non-stop to the other ladies to the point where she turned around while cutting my cuticles, which hurt me on two separate occasions. With the gel manicure, she forgot to put the final top coat on my left hand and refused to acknowledge it. She started with my right hand and after a layer was on, she would ask me to put my right hand under the light while she applied the same layer on my left hand. With the logic, at the end of the manicure, the last hand she works on would be my left hand. But she didn't. She applied the top clear coating on my right hand and said "Okay put it under the light, you are done". When I asked her about it, she just kept saying she already applied and refused to fix it or provide any plausible explanation. It was a pity as I had high hopes seeing the good reviews. I know a lot of people recommend this place and I don't know why. Don't get me wrong the quality of manicures are great, but tools are dirty. The tools are not sterilized. They aren't opened in front of you. Tools are kept in station drawers and used on multiple clients. The sander pad is not changed when transitioning to different clients. When used, the dirty pads stay on the sander and it is placed like that into a drawer. The same nail file is used on different clients. When getting a pedicure, it was assumed by the technician that I had an ingrown toe nail, which I didn't, and the technician dug into my toe with the cuticle clippers and caused me both pain and caused me to bleed, while attempting to remove part of my nail. She did this to both of my big toes. I will not be going back. read more

After a bad experience at another local nail salon, I started looking for a new one and came across Hi Tech Nails. They had a lot of rave reviews for their dip nails, which I had heard are a great alternative to gel, which is what I usually get. So, I decided to stop in to try the dip. My nails have been perfect - no chips or anything - for over two weeks! I'm only just deciding now to go back since my nails are grown out. I'm excited to go back since they have a lot of different dip colors - as much as most salons have for their gel selections. The only cons were that the nail technician kind of skipped on the "spa" aspect and didn't trim or put oil on my cuticles or fix my slightly ingrown nail. I was debating whether or not I would write this review because I used to love this place. But ever since the new owner took over, it has not been the same. Some of the old techs are still there (Tammy, Crystal, Hannah...), but the salon is not the same, and no one seems happy. Every time I go there now, there are these new people, and they are all very rude, and they could not care less to be there. The last time I went, the tech used the same tools she had used with the client before - literally bringing them from her station to the pedicure chair without sterilizing anything. She did not cut my cuticles properly, did not use the foot filer, she id not file my nails, and the nail polish started peeling off a day later. She also filed the top of my nails so hardly that my nails now are paper thin and super brittle. When I asked her to remove the cuticles that were sticking out, she told me in an upset way that she already did. She also dropped the UV drier on my middle finger, and it did really hurt. Been coming to this nail salon for over 4 years(I lost count it's probably been longer lol) and have been very satisfied with Angela doing my nails. I live in Philadelphia and have tried several nail salons here but nothing has compared to the service and quality of the work that they put into doing your nails. It's like as soon as you walk in the door they greet you. They don't rush you to do anything and if they offer a new service like the dips they thoroughly explain everything and even give you chances to ask questions. Even when Angela has a day off and someone else does my nails I've never had a complaint about any of the techs they're all wonderful. Love love Hi Tech! I went in early on Sunday as a walk in. They happily took me and started on my fill in acrylics. The woman who i unfortunately don't remember did an incredible job. She even gave me some tips such as using dip when i take my acrylics off! I also went in for eye brows. Hi Tech is the best nail salon ever. I recommend Tammy, Crystal, Vanna and Angie. I travel 20 miles to this salon as often a possible. I don't like gel or acrylic, but they carry OPI infinite shine which works just as well but isn't has hard on your nails. These girls aren't afraid of anything - they'll take care of your ingrown toenails if needed. They know how to cut cuticles and not just paint over them. I can't recommend it enough. I have been going to High Tech nails for 10 years, seeing the same person Cathy, as a customer I look for people who do detail work and a nice job, and as a consumer, you have a right to say how you like your nails to look or if they break within a day after you get them done, you have a right to get them fixed without feeling that it's your fault or your picky. While Cathy does ok work , she needs to work on her customer service skills and stop treating customers as if they are a pain because they have a request and just being right out rude and unfriendly!!! The last time I went my nail broke within a day after she did my nail and I came in to get it fixed. She was not happy and made me feel as if it was my fault and literally the nail popped off. I went to make an appointment and she had someone call and cancel my appointment and then I called the owner (who has no control of his business) and he told me that Cathy said she did not want to do my nails anymore and she told the other nail techs not to do my nails because I am picky!! This is the most unprofessional nail salon I have ever dealt with and When you are in the service industry you need to treat customers right, because there are thousands of nail salons people can go to and I will let everyone know, "DO NOT HAVE A VOICE " BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT LIKE YOU HERE. I believe it's not what you say how you say it! Maybe Cathy needs to learn how to speak to her clients and accept constructive feedback without being defensive. So I've been here a handful of times since my initial review. I'm pleased to report the service is still outstanding! I've been getting gel manicures every 10-14 days and my nails look great. I also received a relaxing pedicure with a nice massage. I love how they have all the latest nail polish colors in both regular and gel polish. I have been here 3 times now, including my most recent visit which was for a nail repair only a half an hour before they closed, and they have been consistently awesome each time. I have been a customer of Hi Tech nails for years and will happily continue to be a customer! I have never had a bad experience. Every person that works there goes out of their way to make sure your experience is enjoyable! They are always so helpful, answering all questions you could possibly have! They make helpful recommendations and really know what they are doing. Usually Kathy or Angela will do my nails, but I would have no issue with any of the other ladies there. From my experience both of these ladies go above and beyond! One thing I love about this salon is that you don't just sit there in silence as you get your nails done, the ladies always engage in conversation and make you feel comfortable. If you aren't happy with the color, or you feel as if there is something wrong with your nails, they won't make you feel bad, they will happily address the situation and make sure you are happy before you leave. When I walk in, I feel as if I'm walking into a friends house, everyone says hello and greets you with a smile. I would never give this salon anything less than 5 stars! Two good things: price of 18 for gel polish and the girl had warm hands. Went here based on Yelp but are my experience was nothing like I read. Dirty & dingy place, all the gel & regular polishes mixed together, girl never introduced herself & was on phone majority of time, hurt me while filing & buffing, nothing was done w/ my cuticles, used both CND and OPI (totally different products), less than a dime sized bath & body moisturizer then spent 30 seconds rubbing each hand. No razors but she use of battery powered sander for the heel and other callouses and tough places. Good massage technique on the feet. Nice use of lotions. Plenty of parking in the strip mall. No fuss. They work to meet your needs. Everything is a la cart so the costs add up but service and final product was well worth it. My feet are ready for the Puerto Rico beaches. I have been going to Hi Tech Nails for many many years and I have had nothing but EXCELLENT service each and every time. I have recommended many friends and family members to this salon and they have had the same experience and have switched salons. Angela does my nails but I wouldn't have a problem seeing anyone in this salon; they are all very talented and extremely friendly. I have never waited long and I like the fact that you never feel rushed. About 2 years ago I moved out of state and every time I am back in the area, I make an appointment because I truly miss the excellent service. They have all updated colors and brands (metallic, mood changing, cat eye, etc.) and they are very reasonable. I have had gel, acrylic and dip on my nails and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the dip. I am truly obsessed with it. It is much stronger and it lasts longer. They do waxing as well and Angela is by far the most gentle technician. After reading reviews, sounded like this place was awesome. I've been to many nail salons and this is by far not so great. The nail tech did not speak a word of English. I chose a nail color that I get very frequently and it came out like a completely different color and my nails are rough on the edges (ugh). I got the feeling that they had filled this bottle with a cheaper nail polish (non-OPI). Beyond this, the place was filthy with toe nail clippings surrounding the pedicure tubs. Angela has been doing my nails and I can not compliment her enough. Her precise work and outstanding customer service speaks volumes. Not only is she excellent in her craft but she goes ABOVE&BEYOND to accommodate my needs. As I fight the rush hour traffic coming from Phila to make my appointment,I often encounter traffic problems. At times when I am running late, I ask Angie if I should reschedule. Angie always leaves the decision up to me. She never has a bad attitude or acts annoyed in any way. I made an appointment today , I was taken in at my time , the place was dated , and busy . I thought ok they are busy , good sign . My pedicure was pathetic , no frills , so basic n no time was taken to pamper . It was over in 20 mins from start to finish . I then proceeded to get my nails filled , the woman cut me three times w the drill , I said wow that hurt n she acted like I was being a baby , hence three fingers were bleeding.
