Like most places, prices have gone up as vinyl has gotten more popular, but you can still find some good deals if you dig a little! I've been driving by this place for, what it seems like years, and I've always wanted to stop in…read moreand see what's up so I decided to visit this place today and I'm glad I did. Besides the rave reviews on another site that rhymes with shmoogle, I'm in a 'retro-ish video game kick' and wanted to see what he had. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with N64 games and racks of PS2, PS3, Wii, and Switch games. They had games for all of the consoles dating back to the NES. My main goal was to see if he had an N64 console, but sadly he didn't. He did have a few OEM N64 controllers for $20 a piece though, which is the going rate. Besides the amazing selection, the prices on the video games were pretty good too. I got a few PS3 games for $5 a piece and the discs were in new condition. No matter how you slice it, that is a great price, even for games that aren't really 'worth' anything. It's a small place but don't let that fool you; this place has a ton of stuff. I can't wait to go back after the inventory has turned a bit, to see what other gems I can find.

My husband and I have been comic collectors for years, so we are always on the hunt for when new shops open or shows are in town with comics. I randomly searched one day and saw a new result pop up - Mothership Comics. After a quick chat to a fellow collector about them (singing their praises), we were off to check it out. When we walked in the door, we knew we were among friends, and my husband went off talking forever to the owner, Adam, about anything and everything they had in common in their collecting. The interior is so nostalgic. It reminds me of the old comic shops we used to go to. Like Dragon's Lair when the they used to be on 80th and Blondo by Treasure Mart (I am dating myself, here). I loved that Motherships has the classic comic store vibe inside. Like, I literally felt like a little kid again! They had boxes of comics galore, but also some really cool graded classic ones behind the counter. They had comics, obviously, but also collectibles, Pokemon things, compendiums, posters, mangas, and even a whole room of music items too - like vinyls, CDs, shirts, and concert posters. Both of mine and my husband's favorite things - comics and music! And the prices are very fair. We even did a trade in for a graded comic we wanted that was on the wall. If you're looking for a certain issue or have some to trade in, this is the place for it, definitely. We were so excited to see a new comic shop open up, and after visiting Mothership and their awesome proprietor, we will be return customers for sure!

I was excited to visit the new and used book store that recently opened in Bellevue. It's been a…read morelong time since Bellevue had a book store, so this is a welcome addition. The vibe in the store is noticeably peaceful. The tasteful music, lighting, and comfy seating is immediately welcoming. The space has room to grow, and a glance in the back room with its stock of books indicates that growth will be coming. As it is now, the shelves are organized by genre and alphabetically. I noticed a lot of familiar authors in the fiction books and many interesting titles in nonfiction. If my tbr pile was not already so large, I would have been tempted to buy more books than I did. I had a nice conversation with Fearless, one of the owners. He's a great listener as evidenced by how he listened to my motor mouth go on and on. He's a prolific reader, so if you want advice about your next read or just want to talk books, he's your man. Fearless says they are hoping to make the store a place where people feel comfortable enough to hang out and have a cup of tea or coffee. There are tables and chairs for working or just sitting and talking. The website indicates they sometimes buy books, but also accept donations. If you're wanting to support a local book shop, give 2 Dads a go.
