I went back the next day and the person at the counter seemed confused when I told him that they skipped. I advised that I wanted another copy. I suggested he test the vinyl and let him know that I wouldn't come here like this if I didn't have to. I really wanted the record. So after a few minutes and him talking to another employee, he provided another vinyl. I get home, same exact thing. Skips in the beginning. I went on Reddit and learned that others were having the same issue. I go back to Homers about a week later and was looking for Blond by Frank Ocean. When I asked the employee (different person from before) if they had it in stock, he tells me that any Frank Ocean vinyl I see in stores are most likely bootlegs. Says his records sell out online. I was a bit stunned. I didn't consider Homers to be a store that sold bootleg records. I always thought their reputation was a bit stronger than that. Needless to say I was very disappointed. They do not allow refunds and the record I received was a $60+ dollar bootleg. I took an L at Homers. Why not just put that you don't have any in stock? I'll be shopping elsewhere. First off it's a big space that houses 30,000 lps in a massive collection that is growing by the day, 2nd there are many turntables and sound systems all set up like little rooms! Including a sound system that cost around 80,000 dollars! When we got there we were greeted, given a tour, and told we could play any LP in the place even if it was sealed we could open it and play it.. I gave my pals the option for them to pick something, but them being the sweetest they let me give it a go! Naturally I found Procal Harum's, "Whiter Shade of Pale," reissue! It's my second favorite song ever and this reissue had multiple versions including a full length instrumental version I have never heard! I also got to hear it on an 80,000 stereo, and lets just say... I was blown away! Then I got to listen to the album I just put out of my own band on the same stereo, while drinking a beer and having some music fans listen along! This was kinda awkward for me, but in the best way.. Emotions get all to real! This is going to be a place where musicians and industry type folk can get together and play records, talk about records, have a beer, and enjoy the music! Hi Fi house is also doing school programs to help the kids get inspired to become the musicians and industry type folk who will fill the Hi Fi Houses for years to come! Omaha has the flagship store, but their will be Hi Fi Houses popping up around the world in the coming years, with a curated vinyl catalog that can travel, much like museums! This is an amazing, mind blowing experience for a music fan and I hope a Hi Fi House can make Des Moines home at some point!

It's extremely easily shoppable too, with each section separated into alphabetical order. The staff is so helpful and pleasant, as well as super eager to help you find anything you're seeking specifically or based on what sound you are looking for. There aren't too many record shops left in the world nowadays, so Vinyl Cup is a great shop to have right here in Omaha. Definitely check them out!

The ladies at the checkout were helpful and make pleasant conversation that doesn't feel forced, which is so nice. Often times they'll comment on the book selection you've brought over and if you're lucky, they've read it too! I highly recommend if you're trying to get into reading or just need a space to clear your head!
