We live about 30 minutes away, so it's a little bit of a hassle getting there... There is generally a line of trucks out front, but it moves quickly. Once there, if your materials are sorted, it will make it easier for everyone involved and for them to pay you cash. We went this morning and my husband was hoping for around $75 for our truck full of metal. We were pleasantly surprised when the grand total came to just under $240. Obviously if you clean and separate your copper pipes, you're going to get more than if they are lumped together with other materials. They even took a whole bin full of random cables and cords that I probably would've thrown in the trash had my husband not set them aside. We will continue to use this business for years to come.

I thought I could do a bit better. I found James G Grant and figured I'd give it a shot. It's a bit intimidating at first given the visuals-- heavy machinery everywhere, large piles of all different materials, etc. but folks were happy to help. This is one of the places where all of the commercial junk removal businesses bring their materials and then do a healthy up-charge for the convenience. I went in to the office, asked for what the process was and was told to drive on to the scale. Once the weight registered, I got a thumbs up and then followed the One Way signs to the dumping area for construction materials. I backed in, dumped everything, and then back to the scale. Drove through the scale again, another thumbs up, and then parked and went to the office for payment. The price was very reasonable. Only about $60. The entire process took maybe 15 minutes. I was very happy with the experience and highly recommend if people in the Boston area have to dispose of larger materials and have a means to transport them.

They will just charge your card without another word, which is a very frustrating business practice.

The place was disorganized and the staff was unprofessional. I waited for quite a while as various people had loud discussions about whose fault a missed delivery had been. I finally left, having gotten an idea of what my experience would be. this year, I found that L E had an outlet in Woburn. The website was not active, so I called and left a message for their mulch department. Nobody called me back, so the next day I took a chance and drove up to Woburn to inquire in person. They did have leaf mulch and I ordered my load and paid for delivery, which was to be out of the Mattapan site. I was given May 17 between 7 and 8 a.m. as the delivery time. On the 17th we waited for the delivery. And waited. finally, at around 1:45 I called Woburn again to see what was up. "Truck trouble," I was told after the Woburn office called the Mattapan office. I was promised the mulch by 3:30. You can probably guess that it wasn't delivered. I stayed home all day waiting, changing my other plans as the hours passed. This morning (May 18th), I called Woburn again to tell them that I hadn't received the mulch. Paul from the Woburn office called the Mattapan number again to inquire. When he came back on the line, he told me he'd ensured that the delivery would be today, even if he had to have it driven down to Dorchester from Woburn. Now I'm sitting on my hands again, waiting for mulch and hoping it gets here before I have to work this afternoon. SiteOne, the corporation that holds Landscape Express needs to TRAIN its staff in professional and responsive customer service. There's no magic to being polite and even a simple checklist of follow-up actions can help ensure that jobs don't fall through the cracks. I appreciate Paul's efforts on my behalf, but they shouldn't have been necessary. Not Rocket Science. Get it together Mattapan!

When I called the gentleman I spoke to was very polite and helpful explaining the pricing and details around pickup. He explained they would come assess the amount of junk and give us an estimate and there was no obligation to use them. Following the phone call I received a follow up text asking me to confirm my appointment. At this point I was very happy with my interactions with this company. Then on Monday I received a voice message from Melissa asking me to call back about my appointment. When I called back she was unavailable and was told she would call me back. After she did not return my call I called back and was able to speak with her. She asked if I could possibly reschedule my appointment. I was hesitant to change the appointment as we were moving and needed all of our junk to be off sight by Thursday. She said I would hear from her boss, Aaron, the owner who was trying to figure out their scheduling issue. Aaron texted me and asked if I had pictures of what I needed picked up. I responded that I did not as we have already moved off property. I explained that when we made our appointment we were assured that they would look at everything and provide an estimate. I explained what we needed hauled away, but also explained that I am not in the profession of hauling junk and had a hard time guesstimating how much space in the truck we would need. He explained that they were having difficulty and needed to reschedule for Wednesday between 10-noon. I explained that this made me very uncomfortable because we were moving and needed to have the premises cleaned out by Thursday. Aaron assured me that they would be there no problem on Wednesday. Again I received a text confirmation of my appointment and confirmed with the company. Wednesday came and around 11 feeling a little uncertain they were coming I called Aaron's phone that went straight to voicemail. So I called the company line and spoke with Samantha who assured me the truck would be on the way. They had three stops before us, but we're on their way. At noon I decided to call again and was told they would reach back out after calling the truck. In response I received a text message from Patrick saying that his truck had broken down the night before and he would be unable to make it to my home. If this is not unprofessional I do not know what is. I would be very wary of this company and the false sense of security they provide when you confirm an appointment with them.
