We were presenting a short film (Feeling Through) and there were nearly 170 people in attendance. Port Belly Chefs were amazing and so generous with their time and food preparation. They served the most delicious potato pancakes with creme fraiche and smoked salmon, created a gorgeous and abundant cheese and meat platter, a beautifully arranged vegetable platter with homemade dips and pita, and a truly decadent chocolate and peanut butter bar for dessert. Everything was so good...I'm getting hungry just thinking about it now! I have been fortunate enough to taste dozens of their creations through the years. Everything is always amazing. The simplest items are taken to the next level. You might even say their food "goes to eleven!" Talent and taste! The week before the event, Chris told me that the food would be delivered about 30 minutes before the start time of the event so that the delivery person could help us set up. Instead, the food was delivered a few minutes PAST the start time, so that guests were arriving at the same time as the order. It was a terribly inconvenient time to be receiving the delivery, and obviously too late for help setting up. We had ordered assorted appetizers -- crudités and chips/dip. The chips and dip were literally bags of Doritos and etc -- without even bowls to put them in -- and frito lay dips. Like the kind we could have bought at the grocery store for far less. Moreover, one of the items we ordered (pasta salad) was totally forgotten. All of this could have been OK if Chris had handled it better afterwards. I let him know the following day about the mix ups and inconveniences, and didn't receive a response for a few days. At the very least, if you have someone else handling a job, you should reach out to find out if it went OK before the client has to reach out to you. His eventual response was disinterested and perfunctory. All in all, we feel ripped off and cheated. Other than the dessert, there was nothing delivered that we couldn't have gotten at Stop and Shop for a lot cheaper and without much more hassle. I'm really glad we had our own chips and dips to supply because it would have been very embarrassing to put out the bags of chips that were delivered. There was no compensation for the dish that was not delivered, nor any offer.

The owner apologized for the inconvenience, and said he would include extra brisket in our upcoming order to compensate for their shortage. Chris said to simply place a reminder in the notes on the third party app. He made the resolution so simple! We ordered yesterday, and indicated Chris' instructions on the third party app. The order was delivered quickly and perfectly! The brisket was well worth waiting for, and the restaurant definitely gave us extra meat, as promised. The meat fell right off the fork. I didn't even need to use a knife. This is melt in your mouth brisket, complete with the smoke ring. Real deal. We requested that they put the marinade on the side. Like any good piece of meat, the marinade was complementary, but not necessary. It was just like when you go to an exceptional steakhouse, if the meat is high quality, steak sauce and additional condiments are not required. The corn bread was homemade, soft and tasty. The fries were nicely seasoned and very fresh. The coleslaw and onion rings were excellent. The macaroni and cheese was an interesting blend of shell pasta with a thick peppery cheese sauce.
