You can order the drink as a slushie too. I like it non-slushie with less ice, less sugar and with jasmine green tea. The taste is creamy, perfect sweetness and refreshing, not too strong or filling (like bobas). I absolutely loved it! I hope they will make it to Sacramento very soon. read more

Came with friends on a weekend...one of which was super excited since we got here shortly when doors open at 11am and one of the first few people to order since the lines here are usually super long. Looks nice and spacious inside since must be a long line to order... Well that must have been the reason, unfortunately to be the 6th person to order, it still took 30-35 minutes for the 2 drinks to be ready. It was sooo not worth the wait... Why? The staff couldn't get the machines to work an had to make the drinks manually and didn't know how to do so....so it toook way longer since they had to look it up. Long story short: Stay away from Heytea, unless you enjoy waiting 30+ minutes for your bubble tea order. Comb through the reviews to see that this is an ongoing issue. Longer story here: We were visiting from California and I was craving bubble tea. We ordered a Jasmine Green tea and a King Jasmine Honeydew. Both with brown sugar boba. After 20 minutes of waiting, I asked about my order. One of the women behind the counter shared that one drink was finished and there was one drink left to make. I waited another 5-10 minutes. Within that time, I noticed different people picking up their orders. One would think that within 30 minutes, your bubble tea drink would be ready. Unfortunately, our order was not ready. We were tired of waiting and demanded a refund. I came back to our hotel and dug around Yelp reviews. This wait time has been an issue for the past year. It was packed and busy so waiting was expected but what we did not expect was the drinks. We got the not a margarita and the brown sugar boba milk tea. They were both gross! The not a margarita flavor profile was not it. The teas here are consistent. I ordered online for pickup on a Saturday early afternoon. Even ordering online, there was a 20 minute wait for pickup. And then when the drink was ready I had to wait again to actually get the drink. At least 3 people in front of me trying to pick up were told their drinks weren't even ready yet, so the whole pickup process was just chaotic since there's not that much space to wait for pickup by that counter. Love this location! At the heart of Chinatown, close to B/D trains at Grand St station. This store is HUGE and has a lot of seating available. The interior is kept clean by staff and has a lot of space for you to wait for your drink and walk around as well. I'm a huge fan of the Passionfruit blast! If real seeds are not your thing, maybe avoid this drink though. I got this drink with less sugar and it was just the right amount of sweetness for me. (I live for sugary junk food though!) This corner locating is a lot bigger than the Lafayette location. I was overjoyed when I saw the Yayoi Kusuma cup on display at the counter only to have that emotion turn to dismay when I found out it's no longer available. It's a display only. Another customer thought they got the jackpot, until I told them I asked already and it's not available. On the plus side, I got to try the matcha which a friend told me to try. I decided on the matcha zen and it's delicious. The employee made the twisting cap turn so easily and when I tried it wasn't until I read the instructions (heh!). You need to lift/squeeze the twisting part corner and and turn. Not the most convenient if you have only 1 hand available (think grocery bags that you have to leave on the floor). Truthfully, I could have saved the environmental street since the cover opening is sufficient. The employee was nice to show me how to open the cup . You can order from the counter or the self-serve kiosk by the entrance. Listen to your order number, since they take the receipt in order for you pick up your item.
