I have mixed feelings about this hotel. I'll start off with the positives. The breakfast here is delicious. Tastes fresh and there is a variety of options. The actual city, Weesp, is absolutely gorgeous. It has a small town feel. You can tell that people know each other. The rooms were clean. Beds were small but they were often combined to make a "bigger bed." Walls are pretty thin. You can hear other people's conversations.
Cons: this was my first time in the Netherlands and didn't know much about the city I was staying at. My primary interest was to visit Amsterdam. With that said, it wasn't particularly close to Amsterdam. Yes, there is a train within walking distance. But the train stops running like at 12-1230 so if you are out late and you are trying to make it back to this hotel on a late Friday or Saturday night, good luck!! You will have to take a taxi and they are EXPENSIVE. Also, the majority of people in this town only speak Dutch. This includes restaurant menus. To say the least, communicating was difficult. Lastly, the listed time on Travelocity for check in is INCORRECT. They don't let you in at 10am. We got there and told us to wait until 1-2pm. We showed them what Travelocity stated and they couldn't keep to that listing. We also had to fly out early on a weekend. We had to leave the hotel by 330am to catch a early flight. One of the older female receptionists was unable to secure a taxi for us, telling us she would "try" but informed us that taxis in Weesp don't run on Sundays. That was by far the biggest disappointment. She kept telling us, "I will keep trying, no one available." At one point we considered staying at the airport overnight if needed. It was until a very nice man who also works at the hotel helped us that he secured taxis for us. I do not understand why it was so difficult at the beginning with the other receptionist. Definitely did not feel warm nor felt like she was helpful at all read more
