We didn't know what was possible with the house, but Kenny worked diligently to present many options and make us feel secure. Hiring someone for a large scale, expensive project is always a bit nerve-wracking, but we felt better knowing our home was going to be in Kenny's craftsmanship-oriented hands. There were issues along the way that we worked through, but in March and April when we started pressing on why things were taking so long (the front porch was supposed to take 3 weeks), they packed up their stuff, took our supplies (limited because they really had not bought what they said they did) and walked off the job on May 17th, 2022 and sent change orders that were never discussed prior to receiving. They said in order to continue work that we would have to agree to the additional $16,000 of change orders, which we were blind-sided with. It is 14 weeks later and they have not returned or been forthcoming with a resolution. We have found many issues with they work that was completed, which was only the partial front porch, such as not following the plans and using a beam that was not structurally sound to save them money, to not attaching the roof to the house properly to not installing the railings to code, and more. So we are left out of tens of thousands of dollars, with a half completed and structurally unsound front porch and no garage expansion. Yet we paid 78% of the original contract and do not even have 50% of the project completed. Taking out the garage we are 131% overpaid on this project Jason and Jamie have proven themselves to be untrustworthy, unethical and criminal in this matter. JPS is a completely disgraceful company who is completely comfortable robbing their customers of tens of thousands of dollars.

They called on the designated date and asked if we would mind if they installed a few days sooner! The countertops (we have an island) are really make the kitchen. He had other jobs he was working on and didn't bother to contact L&I department until April of 2019. At the time, he was told by L&I that electrical lines had to be moved. More time and money wasted, the job was delayed until June 2019 when Leo said he received okay from L&I to demo garage. Worked a couple of days, then told me he had to stop the work since he didn't obtain the demo permit. Leo refused to accept any responsibility. Leo made me waste money and time. I had to chase him for over a week to get some of my money returned. He had the audacity to tell me he forgot how much money I gave him. I initially called this company simply to get a quote/estimate. Instead of answering my question, the receptionist immediately asked for my address and availability and scheduled me for a service window. I had to clarify multiple times that I did NOT want to commit to anything yet, as I was only looking for an estimate and didn't want to risk being charged. I was eventually told that a technician could come out and provide an estimate before any commitment to service or payment. The technician did arrive within the scheduled window, which I appreciated. However, things went downhill quickly. Instead of trying to open my garage door using the interior switch, he forcefully pushed the door open. As a result, my garage door is now completely stuck open when originally it was only about one-third open. This alone was extremely frustrating. From there, the interaction became very uncomfortable. I was at work and had arranged for my father to meet the technician, since I wasn't home. I made it clear that I was only looking for an estimate and was not prepared to make a same-day decision. Despite this, the technician repeatedly pressured me to decide immediately, saying he had other customers to get to and he cannot wait around. He also made comments that were very off-putting, such as saying my job was "too small" (under $300) for him to come back another day, and that the company would not return if I didn't agree to the service on the spot. This completely contradicted what I was told when I first called. At one point, when I asked reasonable questions about whether fixing just the pulley could lead to other issues, he became impatient and dismissive. He kept repeating that he "already gave you your two options, change all parts for $525 or just the pulley for $250" and "wouldn't know until he fixed it," even though I was simply trying to understand my options. He also said things like, "Did you look at our website? We have over 500 5-star reviews," which came across as dismissive rather than reassuring. To compare, I called another company later that same day and specifically asked if I could get an estimate and decide later. They had no issue with that and told me I could absolutely call back when I was ready. To be clear, the price quoted here was not bad. My issue is not with the cost but with the experience. The technician's attitude, the pressure to make an immediate decision, and the way my situation was handled turned what should have been a simple estimate into a very negative experience. Making the decision to remodel our kitchen seemed to be quite an intimidating endeavor and after a…read morefew visits to other local and nearby stores and even the 2 big chains; LOWES & HOME DEPOT; we decided to cross the bridge to well known Washington Ave. where there are several stores that in their own way can be helpful, but when we went to Marbleworks we had a warm experience & impression that my wife & I felt deserving of our time and certainly our monies.. there are several things we both weren't aware of and no other store made known that we would have to consider in this project. deciding not only compatibility and colors weren't the only things to consider. we ended up at Marbleworks returning 2 additional times throughout, selecting the granite top, matching the cabinet colors, choosing edging for the tops and even the sink which became a Freebie !! they came to our home to confirm detailed forms and measurements and even made suggestions to overhangs on our end cap that my family has complimented us on having done. Let's face it, the dollars came into play also... we never anticipate how much we need to spend, only what we want to; I guess its fair to say now we spent a few bucks more but, any & all extra was more than worth it and ended up less costly than 2 other places visited right down the same block.
