Behind the store lies the Mountainview RV park, offering around thirty rv sites with electric/water/sewage. The park is clean and sites are level. No wi-fi, laundry or recreational area. The overnight fee was very reasonable. I would stay here again given the opportunity. (NOTE: At the time of our visit, their food truck was temporarily shut down due to staffing issues. Also, there is a fairly busy railroad track directly behind the property. Luckily our AC drowned out the noise.)

We had the pleasure of talking with the grandson and his wife, who now run the business. They were incredibly sweet, welcoming, and genuinely happy to answer questions and help us pick out products. We brought home a jar of their extra hot green salsa, and wow...it is absolutely incredible. It has a serious kick, but the heat never overpowers the flavor. You can actually taste the fresh Hatch chiles instead of just burning your mouth. It's hands down one of the best salsas I've had. Supporting a third generation family business while taking home an authentic taste of Hatch made this one of our favorite stops in New Mexico. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area.

They also offer chili and banana split, both of which I had no interest in. The popped kernels were huge and fluffy. We were told they are called mushroom popcorn. Regular Kettle Corn: This was fluffy, with the right amount of salty and sweet. Cinnamon Kettle Corn: At first I wasn't impressed. I was expecting more of a cinnamon/sugar combo taste, but it was pure cinnamon coating the kettle corn. I bought a bag anyway. Well, it is addicting!!! I love it. No need for more sweetness. Caramel Kettle Corn: Perfect! This is not overly sweet nor sticky. Just a subtle caramel taste that lets you eat a lot without your taste buds being overwhelmed with sweetness. All flavors above had the undertones of the regular kettle corn. We will be back.

This store....has it all!…read more Lots of different things to sell. Toys, relics, religious items, house goods and more. Most had solid pricing. They are a HUGE supplier of fireworks . Wait, people use fireworks other than July 4? Evidently, yes absolutely. . People buy from all around the US. Don't know if fireworks are popular in NM ??? The Godfather. $1100 package f fireworks- estimated would be about 4 hours of a show. They sell about 4-5 of the Godfather annually. I believe him We bought a few on smaller ones, I'm not comfortable with the big ones. Concerned about safety, losing a finger or eye is not acceptable. We used the fireworks that night. Can't take them home to CA! I listed two of the videos. They sold moccasins, but were fairly pricey. $60+. Unless that's a good price, unsure. World famous fudge ...I had to bite. $12 a pound was reasonable. They had 6flavors, I chose chocolate, peanut butter and chocolate with pecan. Fudge was good, but not amazing. Worth getting some, yes. The guy assisting me was super friendly. Chatted about the fireworks and their desert bot (transformer you know! Haha. ). You already know I had to pull over! From the moment I walked into Bowlin's Aleka Flats, the staff greeted me with genuine warmth. The store itself is such a fun place to browse--filled with unique Southwestern treasures like shirts, ponchos, serapes, moccasins, souvenirs, and so much more. Even if you only come for the cookies, you'll probably end up wandering the aisles for a bit. Speaking of cookies... I could see the staff constantly rotating fresh batches, so I knew they weren't sitting around getting stale. I also appreciated that they offered options with and without nuts. We ended up grabbing a dozen because, let's be honest, the price made it an easy decision. Individual cookies are just $0.99 each, but a dozen is only $9. We picked up six original chocolate chip, three sugar pecan, and three chocolate chip pecan cookies. One thing that stood out was watching the employee preparing the cookies while wearing gloves. It's a small detail, but it shows they take pride in food handling and cleanliness, and I always notice those things. The staff was incredibly friendly and even thanked me for stopping by... even though cookies were literally the only reason I came in. And yes, I'm on a road trip, so don't judge me! My kiddos thanked me the second they took their first bite, and that was all the confirmation I needed. These cookies were soft, chewy, fresh, and absolutely worth the stop. If you're driving through, do yourself a favor and pull over. Grab a dozen--you'll thank yourself later. I'll definitely be making this one of my regular road-trip cookie stops!
