Charged a cancelation fee because the clerk gabe me the wromg total. I moved my money so that i coukd cover it on the card. When i went to checkout, he gave me a higher total. I couldnt rent the car, and then they charged me a cancelation fee!! read more

Went I went to the office, the woman that helped me was kind, helpful, respectful, and accommodating. However, they do not seem to have a working phone system. It didn't matter what time I called, no one ever answers at this office. The woman I spoke to in person admitted that their phone system is having issues. Meanwhile, when I called the general office, they told me I had to speak to someone in the West Springfield office where I had rented the car from to get any of my questions answered regarding the rental. Their lack of a working phone system or someone that actually answers the phone is a HUGE problem. read more

My family recently rented a vehicle from Hertz West Spfld Ma. A 10 am pick up was confirmed. We arrived at 9:45 am and did not receive the vehicle until 11:15 am. We were told it needed to be fueled. Upon receiving the vehicle we noticed extensive exterior body damage and white duct tape on the rear bumper. There was sand throughout the entire floor of the interior. The interior walls were filthy with stains, windows were dirty, we found trash under the seats and in the storage areas behind the driver and front passenger seats. Also... the vehicle stunk of marijuana. We immediately had the manager come out and review all of the issues. He apologized and indicated there were no other vehicles to exchange. I asked him to figure it and call me. I could not wait any longer and the following day we needed to start our journey. I never received a phone call. I began calling customer service, but no one answered. I emailed hertz for help and received the response "we will respond to you in 7-10 business days". After trying all the customer service prompts a was able to speak with a human who told me to exchange it at another hertz. He told me to bring it to the Spfld Hertz and he gave me their phone number. I began calling.... 9 calls later an no one was answering. No one anywhere in Hertz was answering. I was stuck with this filthy vehicle. I attempted to exchange it a few hertz locations along our drive but none had a vehicle similar to swap. Two days before the return of this filthy vehicle an email from Hertz arrived indicating that I could call the emergency road assistance number to exchange it. Maybe someone should have told me this on day one!!!! My wife had three migraines triggered from the interior of the vehicle stinking of marijuana!!!! It amazes me how poor the customer service of this huge and well respected corporation is! Hertz has offered us a $50 gift certificate..... that expires 12/2023!!!!! Seriously Hertz.... I would never rent from this location again. Horrible! I had to return one car because the tire lights kept coming on as low. Next car I got the gas was only at 8th of a tank and so dirty. I was supposed to have the car for a month so I filled the tank , my car was ready earlier than expected so I still have 3/4 of a tank. I called to ask if they reimburse for the gas and they said no. This is BS so is the scam you send out dirty cars almost empty and get them back with more gas. They should be full when you rent them! You Can always put in more gas can't take gas out! Don't use Hertz on Riverdale Road! I will say however the employees are nice but it's just run so bad. read more

Terrible service when I call for insurance extension. The young lady off the back told me that since the car was late I had to pay out of pocket. So I did her job call the adjuster and there was no issue on extending me for 5 more days. I spoke with the manager and he just defended her didn't listen to any of my explanation. He didn't have any people skills. This place will not get my business again. Terrible service. I hope It wasn't my accent that made them treat me this way. The car was dirty and 1/4 on the gas tank. I reserved a Tesla model Y. Despite there being no line when I arrived, it took an hour to get the car which was covered in bird droppings and bugs and only 24% charged. The manager, Jennifer, said they couldn't give me a clean car and they wouldn't pay for a car wash. I'd have to drive to the nearby charging station. When I was at the station and obviously paying for the charge , I realized they gave me a Model 3 instead of the Y. I drove back and I was told that they don't ever have model Y's. But she informed me that I was still being charged for a Y nonetheless (about twice the price). They made no effort to inform me of this ahead of time. I cancelled the deal after wasting a total of 2 hours. She reluctantly canceled my deposit fee of $254, but not the original reservation fee of $113. I'm still working with Hertz to be reimbursed for that plus a $50 voucher for my troubles. This place seems to handle mostly insurance claims. This is not your airport rental agency that you're familiar with. I bet Tom Brady doesn't use West Springfield Hertz. Thanks. read more

For me, this business was great! I've been to a lot of car rental companies and usually waited a long time, even with a reservation. We called to change some information that I couldn't do online and they were very helpful and courteous!! When we go there, the transaction took no time at all. As I write this I am sitting on the lawn on hertz waiting for my husband and kids to pick me up. This tops the cake for the by far worst company to rent a car from. I got to this little hole in the wall rental office and spent well over an hour waiting to get the rental. I attempted to extend the rental and was told that the car needed servicing and that I could extend my rental but had to exchange the car for a different one. I drive all the way there to find a massive line and just the manager working alone. The guy was super nice and helpful but clearly had no other staff to help him and people had been waiting for a really long time. I get to his desk and for some reason my debit card that they already had a pending charge for declined. He told me they can only run a card twice and that was it so he suggested I call my bank. I called the bank and they found nothing wrong that would cause it to decline but they removed fraud protection for 2 hours in case it Registered as fraud. I went back in and waited another hour for him to run my card again. Declines. Keep in my mind I would have never had to go through this had I not had to turn the car in for servicing. I told him that the bank did everything they could and that they already had a pending charge from them. I had more than enough money to cover this but because the policy was to only run a card twice I was shit out of luck and stranded at this dealership. I watched all the employees leave for the day. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. I left and went to enterprise and got a car in twenty minutes with NO ISSUES. I will never go back to hertz again, absolutely horrible. read more

I can not even give this location a star. If anything I would give it a -1! First, If you call this location they 99% of the time they don't answer their phones. I had to drive down to them to make reservations. This should was a huge red flag! But, I made a reservation a month ago. I received a vehicle today that was so disgustingly dirty and was told that she spent an hour and a half cleaning it. My response was WHAT!? Hours later after securing an other rental from Budget rental that was CLEAN, I returned their Hertz rental. My recommendation is buyer beware! I wish I had taken pictures. I wish I could give 0 stars. We booked a car to use for a few days as the brakes on our car are going and we have to drive an hour for our reception. When we got there, the woman said if we made a booking same day, she had nothing available. When I told her I had made it the night before, there was miraculously a car available. We got inside to pay, she said they don't accept Chime and this is stated on the website and that a credit card needed to be used. I checked the website and none of this was true. There was no mention of Chime and it states that debit/bank cards can be used. The woman was rude and definitely just made it seem like she just wanted us to leave. This company is terrible. They didn't explain to me that if you travel on the mass pike they would charge me $35 and just take it out of my account. I paid a $50 deposit fee for my Rental they never paid me back. I called I waited on hold forever to be told they paid me back when I clearly look at my statement and I will never paid back. This Company sucks!! Thanks for ripping me off $85!!! I will never recommend them. If I could give no stars I would!! Booooooo and Shane on you!! Terrible....terrible.....terrible. i was recommended by hertz from my employer due to my car being in the body shop the day that they were supposed to pick me up from the shop they show 45 min late .....after i get there i wait 15 min before being seen i get put in the worst car for a crazy price and not only that aprently i dont have good enough credit......to rent it....not buy it rent it.....i will never ever rent from them and i will never recommend anyone coming here lucky there is an enterprise who took great care of me :) read more
