    Reserved a car about a month ago and I was told they had no cars when I arrived and they put me on a waiting list at 6:27. Most places upgrade you so you don't have to wait. At 6:38 the guy said, "he had no idea" when the car would be available. Really? None whatsoever? So much for a reservation. I went on online chat to complain. He couldn't help me. At 7:00 I called the number the chat guy gave me nd it wasn't even the right number. Still waiting. At 710 I cancelled and went to Avis. The guy seemed irritated that I would dare ask again for a status.

    Garbage!!! Do not use!!!!! Terrible customer service.... TERRIBLE OPTIONS FOR CARS!!!! Go to national!!!!

I returned my car on time on the day I flew out…read more Even spoke with the manager because the alignment was so bad, windshield wipers were so overdue for a replacement (conditions were wet and snowy) and the check engine light went on. I wanted to make sure that this vehicle was serviced before anyone else drove it. When I was driving straight, my hands were at 11 and 4 on the steering wheel I got a charge a week later for a week's rental, because they said I never turned the vehicle in. Some small miracle happened and I was able to get in touch with a representative who was helpful and apologetic. He assured me that the charge would be refunded. I was charged another week's rental two days later. I am so irritated. In addition, my deposit was never refunded. There is no hope in getting ahold of a rep. I have no words. The associates are incompetent and this must be addressed by Dolllar. DO BETTER.

Not done yet!, we get to the car, it's terribly dirty, the windshield is so covered with bugs, the wipers won't clear, we had to drive to a gas station, and clean it with a brush.....there was food in center console....just a terrible experiance.

    [Updated Review (2024-2025) to include top notch service by manager Sarah L!]…read more Usually a Hertz customer but decided to try National here at SYR back in 2021 and have been with them ever since. Great car selection (including Audi, BMW, MBZ, Volvo, Land Rover, Cadillac, and rarely even Maserati for upgrades), service and staff. During one of my first experiences, I saw a Tesla Model X available on the site and booked it, extremely excited that they finally adopted the electric SUV. Arrived with a huge disappointment since the car is actually not available and the staff at SYR has never even seen the car. Spoke to the manager Bri; she was extremely understanding and was able to switch me to a equivalent sized SUV albeit not electric (the EUV available was a volvo that was a lot smaller than the Model X) and treated me with respect. Even recognized that I was a military member and thanked me for my service! The next experience in Dec 2023 was also superb. Initially came in with a reservation of an Audi A4 but had a previous upgrade. Though staff Marc said that I just missed an upgrade (previous client just rented an A5) the attendant Anthony overheard and said they may have just received one. After only a few minutes of waiting, they got me into a brand new upgraded A5. What a great team striving to make their customers happy! A visit in Feb 2024 when I rented a full sized vehicle, though clean and new, did not love the specific brans. Went back to Marc and asked if it is possible to get a nicer vehicle on the lot. He told me he will try his best and immediately called his supervisor. After striving to help me, viola! Upgraded into a luxury SUV for being a long-time repeat Emerald Club customer. Furthermore, Marc even found the backpack that I accidentally left on the first rental before the switch and returned it to me! Great customer service. Another 2 great recent experiences in Nov & Dec 2024 where Sarah L, the CE manager not only found the vehicle I requested for, she responded to my concerns with efficiency, grace and understanding. Unparalleled, sensational customer service. All staff and managers should strive to be like Sarah. Experiences just keep getting better! The managers Sarah L, Bri, attendant Anthony and staff Marc G made the experiences even better. Keep up the good work Sarah, Bri, Anthony, Marc, and National SYR!

We were in town for a…read morefuneral, so we were offered an upgrade so we could shuttle family around all weekend, which was so wonderful. Being from the south, I also appreciated the larger car while driving in the snow. I've had a pretty bad experience with a rental car company, so I honestly dreaded this. National exceeded my expectations. Thank you.
