Worst hertz ever They don't ask you what type of car you want They just surprise you at the end after your already done with paperwork and say go ahead to the front where gonna pull up the car Me confused what car??? I haven't even chose the car yet! Then he says it was the only one available and they refused to swap the car out And when my passenger got in the car her phone fell between the seat and her hand grazed against dog puke!! Imagine the people who rent cars to travel to and from or imagine where they're pets have been Nasty un sanitized cars Insurance companies take all our money just to give us weak dirty companies like hertz read more

Overall, it was a good experience. This is a busy location, and there's usually a line of customers, but the staff did their best to provide the level of service we expected. We did run into a bit of an issue with the car we had reserved--it had a system problem and wasn't available when we arrived, even though we saw it on-site. They substituted it with another vehicle, but unfortunately, it hadn't been washed or prepped for pickup. We were in a rush, so even though it took an extra 30 minutes, we ended up taking that car as-is. Despite that hiccup, the staff handled the situation professionally and did their best to accommodate us in a timely manner. read more

Hertz Rent A Car - Car Rental Near Me - Reseda, California

JEAN At Hertz Front desk had made booking a great experience. Renting at the Hertz located in Reseda California is not only a great environment but puts ease to the sometimes stressful booking of renting cars. Way to go Jean and thank you so much . read more

This place has the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. The manager was incredibly rude and seemed annoyed from the moment I walked in--no helpfulness or courtesy whatsoever. It felt like they were playing games with me. The car that they rented out to me $26 rate on the website but they charging my insurance $36. If you value your time and sanity, don't bother with this place. There are plenty of rental car companies that actually treat customers with respect. Don't waste your energy getting mad here for no reason! read more

Customer nonexistent! There was two employees in the office doing nothing. Guy was looking at the computer screen pretending to look busy and the woman didn't even try she was playing with her nails. (They are possibly smashing on the low) come in to check and they tell me they are not renting due too street rebuild. They are so lazy they couldn't have emailed me or decline my request to rent a car because I wasted time going down there!!!! This office needs a whole new staff seems like they are just there for a check and don't care about hertz reputation! read more

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! If i could Give this place negative 10 stars i would. The guy in the front Jose (Hispanic guy) EXTREMELY RUDE! Does not even know what customer service is. Over chargers on stuff and advises on cars we don't need that i paid for and booked. I would never rent from this place again solely on this employee! Hung up on my face before i was able to ask for an itemized copy of my chargers! read more

Worst customer service ever. Bait and switch tactics. False promises. Unnecessary delays because they are either understaffed or disorganized or maybe just flat out incompetent. This review is based on not just my experience but the two other disgruntled clients being let down today. BRAVO! That's a trifecta of deplorable service right there. Go anywhere but here to rent a car, and it's too bad bc I can walk to this place. Oh well - my money will go to a more reputable company today. read more

Horrible customer service. Avoid going to Hertz specially this location. They charge late fee of $12and extension fee of $10 for extending the car. Manager Louis was rude and not helpful. They never pick up the phone and don't have the car even you have already reserved it. The car I rented smelled so bad and they clean it with Clorox. I would choose Enterprise over Hertz. read more

This worse customer service ever. I reserved a car, confirmed this via phone only to arrive to be told the manager has to go find the car or I can take what they have and pay more. This sucks when your at the end of the day and have a million things to do. Lessoned learned. This location is bad business. Poor customer service, they could care less that I am loyal hertz Car renter. I stood in the location alone for 8 minutes. The person in the location (a male) asked me questions, then left out the door. I waited 8 minutes before a lady came from the back with her belongings like she was on lunch or something. Now I am going back and forth with the so called customer service trying to right the wrong. And it's ridiculous . Who has good customer service cause that's where I will spend my money. I have never been treated so badly. Such a shame. read more

Best staff great car fantastic price I love Hertz I have been renting for years the canoga office was the best yet

I made a reservation at this hertz location for a small vehicle to get me to work and back while my car was in the shop. I showed up and they had no cars. Except a red Tesla which was not my choice at all. I requested if they had any other vehicles and all that was suggested was a Dodge Ram. This is terrible considering the gas cost to commute to work and back would have been equal to renting this car. The manager upon compiling the receipt out said he would apply my AAA discount and wave the upgrade fee which made things better. However upon getting the receipt there was a $40.00 upgrade fee. My credit card was triple charged for the entire bill. There was also no AAA 20% discount. I returned the vehicle and brought up my overcharges, the young guy said he would let his manager know. In the meantime I paid over for something I didnt want, a young guy who could have straightened my bill out was trained to do so, and my credit card was hit with interest charges due to their error. I am still waiting on the corrected amount. RENT WITH CAUTION read more

This is the absolute worst Hertz in the world. The owner is rude and a liar. He told me I can't drop my car off at the repair shop as he was short staffed. I rushed to get there. I told him I would be there a few minutes after 5pm. He said he will call me an Uber or Lyft to go to the repair shop. When I get there he starts yelling and screaming because it's after 5 and refuses to call me a ride. Then proceeds to tell me to drive the car to the repair shop. I thought he said that wasn't allowed?! STAY AWAY from this terrible business & terrible man. read more

It seems like my experience with this place keeps getting worse and worse. After renting 3 cars from this place, I think it's time for me to move on. In my last transaction, I booked everything online 2 days in advance just like how I've always done it except this time, I had requested to be picked up from my location to the rental place. I called the rental place the morning of my pick up date to hopefully arrange things sooner than later but I was told to call back 30 minutes prior to my pick up time, which was at 5pm, to arrange for pick up. I tried calling the specific branch for about 30 minutes and of course, nobody picked up. Hence, I was forced to find another way to get there since they were about to close. However, it didn't just end there. Upon returning the car, I had requested to be dropped off at another location which was 6 miles. Now, I understand that I can only be picked up/ dropped off within a 3 mile radius per their "policy" so I had asked if I can be dropped off anywhere at halfway point which was 3 miles. Unfortunately, the only answer I got was, "I can't do that. I can't do that. It's just our policy" and the guy just walked away. He didn't even TRY to work out anything! It's not like there were anybody else waiting to be serviced after me to be rushed off so quickly since I was the only person there at the time. But, 5 seconds later he came back and asked, "so are u just going to Uber urself or something?" At that point, I was already over everything and just wanted to leave. I just don't like being mistreated after u give them ur money. Nobody does. read more

Hertz Rent A Car - Nobody picks up their phones - Car Rental Near Me - Reseda, California

I had to drop my car off for repair, and this hertz was located conveniently walking distance from a majority of where all the car repair shops are. So it was super easy to drop my car off and walk right over and pick up my rental. The staff was quick, efficient, and friendly. They didn't try to upswell me on all the extra services. read more

6728 Reseda Blvd, Reseda, CA 91335 I called this location to Rent a car. The person on the phone asked me if he could put me on a brief hold. Well I said yes. Four minutes went by and no acknowledgement from him was recieved. From what I have been trained in proper customer service was to have someone on hold for a minute or less then continually checking in on the customer. Well clearly this company lacks in phone skills. I will not be using this company again. read more

This place is a joke. You make a reservation you do the right thing to come in prepared but when you arrive they can't fulfill the reservation and try to put you in a more expensive car. This place does not provide with clean vehicles. I witnessed the instructions from the manager to the worker to take the car for a drive through car wash. With COVID and all I would expect the car to be properly washed and sanitized INSIDE the vehicle not just given an outside wash. This is the third week in a row that I rent a vehicle from this place and I noticed that the cars were not clean or smelled clean but I did not think much of it until today when I heard the drive-through instructions and I noticed as I got in my rental today that the steering wheel was sticky, the seats not vacuumed and overall dirty! I've made a reservation for a car (under my husband's name) and when I came to the location, the guy told me that he doesn't have cars for me! He acted blankly showing absolute lack of empathy. It looks like this whole company isn't operating properly and the employees don't care. Worst customer service! I make a reservation because I have somewhere extremely important to go, I get to the location and I leave without a car because this company is a big FRAUD!!! Their website allows you to book without having any fleet available! How is this even possible? I went through a lot of stress, lost an important relationship because I couldn't get to the meeting on time and lost money! I am disgusted with this company, with its employees at the location and on the phone and with this whole situation!!! I will not leave things this way. If it happened another day and maybe I did not have this important meeting, I might have let it slide. But now, I will go all the way to highest management to make sure my complaint is resolved something is done that this kind of problems do not happen again! Cliff Notes: Avoid. Renting: Immediately after running my credit card, I'm told the class of car that I want is all out, as well as the class above that. So I'm told I have to pay an extra fee, per day, for the class above that. Although I'm sure many people fall for this, I decline. Then, I'm magically told that they have a car for me. It smells like an ashtray; but by now I'm late for work and so I have no choice but to take the only car they're offering me. My kids complain for the next two days that the car smells horrible. Returning: I want to return the car 30-mins late and so call to check. Guy on the phone tells me they'll charge me $40 if I return after 9AM and so I drive in to return at 8:45AM. Different guy on the front desk tells me there's a 30-minute grace period, and so my wish was possible, the first guy was just being a jerk. Lastly, on checkout, they charge me $10 more than the contract says. I know that these are first-world problems (most of my reviews are super positive!); but want others to see my experience so that you can avoid. Go to the Enterprise across the street and spare yourself the horror. read more

Yeah, they're awful. I'm a regular traveler so I have a useless title with Hertz (President's Circle) that is supposed to guarantee me a car. Nope. Showed up for my confirmed reservation and no car was waiting for me. Nada. Also no apology for the huge waste of time. They said I could get on a "wait list" for a vehicle. I walked out the door and will never return. (There are a bunch of other reviews with the exact same issue - showing up for a confirmed reservation and hearing them say "we don't have any cars.") Ridiculous. read more

This location has to get their shit together. We booked a car last minute online. Received a confirmation, email and everything. After ubering to the location, we arrived to pick up the car, we was asked by the lady behind the counter if we had a reservation. Told her we booked earlier and she told us that they didn't have any cars left. So how did we manage to book something, got a conformation email and then told there was no car left. Outside was plenty of car. She got up, went to the back and came back and said there was no car available. Didn't seem like she checked at all. She seems more eager to go home and less sympathetic than anything. I get it, it was towards the end of the day. But when someone walks in with a conformation, they should honor it. Not at all did she try to see if anything was available or help in anyways. Also, she didn't even call another location to see if there was anything available. Guess customer service isn't on top of their list. They rather loose customers as we went to another company that did have cars available without reservations and was eager to help and stayed after they were closed. read more

This is not a business. They are criminals. They changed quotes between when we picked up and dropped off. They charged us 21 days when we had a rental for 13. Not only that it was covered under insurance! To make matters worse, it's hard to even get in contact with them to find out how bad they are ripping you off. Even if you some how get someone on the phone, nothing gets fixed. The manager is a ghost and doesn't return calls. read more

Reserved a car two weeks ago for a pick up today, and set the time for 430 pick-up, I was delayed at work, and arrived at 545, the girl informed me since I was late they gave my car away, and there was nothing they could do. I rent cars often and the Hertz Receda location was the worst experience beyond comprehension! Avoid this location like the plague until Hertz goes in, cleans house or retrains Hertz staff member Erin Hullett, Jarrett Sidney and manager Francisco. The employee/customer training was nonexistent, that of a two-bit agency. They brought over a high mileage Mazda 3 meanwhile not turning on the AC to have it ready for me. That should have been my hint. I sat in the car waiting for the AC to cool the inside. Never got below 80 degrees in the 95 degree Cali heat. I was to rent the car for a few weeks. I went to tell them and Mr. Sidney and Mr. Francisco left the building in the middle of the afternoon, leaving me with Ms. Hullett who proceeded to take other customers before me. She made me wait a half hour to 45 minutes to get me sorted out. By now, I was livid. She ignored me rather than taking care of me so I could be on my way. She kept saying they be back any second and it was 30 to 45 minutes. Mr. Francisco finally brought a replacement Nissan but it was a lesser car and again high mileage. I later found out, it too had a problem. An emergency screen come up while driving telling me to take it in to service. Somehow I think they also knew their cars were not properly maintained and hid the fact that they were handing out cars they shouldn't be. They also gave that car to me with the interior broiling. As if to teach me a lesson not to complain. During that time, a lady and her daughter were bringing a car back because a clipped on piece of the their car fell off on the highway. They made them fill up the car before they give them a replacement. Can you believe that??? Anyways, Ms. Hullett threatened to call the police on someone that did nothing but want to leave with a decent car that worked. That's the gist... I took the Nissan back to another Hertz agency where they (Henry/manager, Devonshire St, LA) took quick care of me with grace, a smile and much professionalism. Hertz, if you are reading this, these three extremely unprofessional employees at your Receda operation represent your company. They are the epitome of the worst experience they could possibly give anyone let alone a Club Gold client. read more

I was having some bad experiences with Avis and decided to switch to Hertz for a new experience but it came out to be worse. First, I did have my reservation for a compact car and it clearly stated it was a "compact" car. So, I went there to pick up my car but they ran out of compact. I got upgraded to a mid-size car; however, they charged me an extra $5.00 without telling me about it. Technically, if no other compact car was available at the time plus I have a reservation it should be free of charge to begin it. To me $5 is nothing much but it caused me so me stress and hassles when I came back to do my travel claim which was supposed to pay for it. But no I have to pay it out of my own pocket. This is a matter of principle when it comes to business about honesty and integrity. To top that off, there was this Hispanic kid (forgot his name) dressed with saggy pants working at the rental was constantly on his cell phone probably checking his facebook. It is the first time and the last time I will come to this location. I hope other locaitons will have better service and be "honest." read more

TL;DR- Jerrod was unprofessional, rude, and unhelpful. Will not be renting a car from Hertz in the future. I have an old car and wanted to rent something to travel to Santa Barbara to visit with family. I booked a rental through AAA and was quoted $135 plus the cost of insurance. I had about $250 in the bank so I thought I had more than I needed. Wrong! I arrived at Hertz and after waiting about 10 minutes I was helped by Jerrod. Everything was pleasant until he explained that they would be putting a $200 hold on my card. The exchange went something like this: J: Ok, we'll be putting a $200 hold on the card. Me: $200 total or $200 in addition to the $135? J: That's right. Me: ...that's right what? J: We'll be putting a charge for a total of $273 today. When you return the car we'll return the $200 and then you'll just owe us the difference of $62. Me: Ok...so just to be clear, the $200 will be returned? J: Yes, as long as you don't incur any additional charges. :: At this point I'm starting to get annoyed and have serious doubts about renting the car. I was never told about the additional $200 and I wasn't liking Hertz's funny math. I really wanted/needed a rental so I was all set to go through with it though. :: Me: Ok, that's fine. J: Do you have an additional card? This one was declined. Me: No...I have cash to cover the difference though. J: We don't take cash. (He said it as though I was offering to pay the total in pennies and nickels) Me: Ok...um...(trying to figure this out...) J: Well...do you have a credit card with funds? :: So now I'm really annoyed. The once friendly-ish Jerrod is now acting like a jerk. I no longer wanted to do business with him. My account was $25 short and he was being condescending and uppity. :: Me: No, you know what I think I'm gonna go ahead and pass on the rental. Can you cancel my reservation? J: Yes. Me: What about the insurance coverage I was already charged for? J: What about it? Me: Can you cancel that too? J: No, we're not the insurance company. This is Hertz ma'am. (as if I didn't know where I was) Me: Ok...do you know how I can cancel it? J: No. (gets up and starts walking away) I can't cancel for you. Me: The car? J: I said I can't cancel it. Me: You said you couldn't cancel the insurance, are you now saying you can't cancel the car either? J: I don't know what to tell you. I can't cancel it for you. (hands me a Hertz pamphlet) Call them and have them do it. Me: I'm just confused. Were you not able to cancel the car? J: No. Me: (looks at pamphlet with about 7 different phone numbers) Ok...can you tell me which number I should call? J: (walks away to the backroom) Call them all until you get someone who can help you. I stayed in the parking lot until I was able to get someone on the phone who was able to cancel my reservation. I wasn't about to leave till I was assured that I wouldn't be charged for a rental I never used or a cancellation fee. My experience on the phone was more pleasant. The customer service agent was helpful and explained the $200 hold was customary. I told him that I understood but at no point was it mentioned so I didn't have the full $273. I also told him that I had been willing to run to the bank and deposit the money but that Jerrod's demeanor had been what changed my mind. I understand that I was no longer going to be a paying customer but I deserved a little bit more than what I got at the end. Jerrod could have at the very least told me which number to call, not hand me a list of numbers and walk away. read more

I got a rental car from here a couple of weeks ago while my car was getting worked on. I picked it up without any issues around 9:30 am and drove it to work just 5-10 minutes away. I parked the car and went to work. After a couple hours, I was heading out to AMPM to get a snack and when I got in the rental it had a very strong smell, like a freshly painted apartment. I called to exchange the car because the smell was too overwhelming. I spoke to the woman that rented me the car and she gave me an attitude saying she didn't smell anything and if I wanted to get a different car I had to call different Hertz locations to get one. I didn't take that response well and told her I wanted to speak to her manager. She put's me on hold and after about 5 min she came back and magically had an exchange ready for me. I highly recommend renting from a different Hertz location. read more

I rented a car at this location for the first time last week, because I got sick and tired of the LACK of customer service, and piss-poor attitude I'd been receiving time and again, at the Northridge location... not only from their one employee [who always seems to be there and never has a smile for anyone that walks thru the door], but from the owner/manager, as well. They provide you with dirty cars, and if you call them out on that, they rudely tell you to go find a car elsewhere. I always leave that place with a stress-headache! And if that isn't bad enough, they always try to hit you with additional fees, as if you aren't going to notice... so you have to spend an additional 1/2 hour in the lobby, calling Hertz Customer Service to get them to force these people to credit back charges that should never have been "snuck in," in the first place! This time, I called ahead to make sure THIS location was NOT affiliated with THAT location. Thankfully, it was not; and this was definitely proven by the difference in the actual customer CARE they provided from the onset. Danielle was amazing in getting me into the car I preferred... It was a quick and migraine-free process, and she [as well as the other rep there] was very friendly and accommodating. In reading the negative reviews about this place, it seems more than likely they are confusing this City of RESEDA location, with the Northridge Hertz location, which also happens to be ON Reseda Blvd, but further north, between Plummer St. and Devonshire Blvd. We rent cars frequently... and now I no longer have to stress over finding somewhere "better than." I've found it! YAY!!! I highly recommend THIS Hertz! Ask for Danielle. Do NOT waste your time renting from the Northridge location... On a scale of 1 - 5, THEY get a MINUS 5! THIS Hertz gets a SOLID 5+++!!!! read more
