We were stranded. Expedia's customer service representative had no answers and suggested we take care of it. We found Budget Car Rental open. We had to pay $500+ over the quoted Expedia National contract. We complained using the correct documentation. Expedia did nothing to obtain a reimbursement. We will contract the NY State Attorney.

I had a flight from the airport back to Florida, and picked up a rental car there earlier in the week. I will start with the not so great stuff. Since this airport is so tiny, the counters really aren't staffed. At the time there was one employee working the Avis and Budget counter, and when I arrived he was no where to be found. To be fair I was just picking up and not coming off a flight, so they are probably more diligent about being at the counter when they have a flight coming in, but still my reservation had my pickup time. To remedy this staff situation there was a sign to call the employees cell phone to let them know you need service. I called and there was no answer. I waited a few more minutes and called again. This time the employee picked up and informed me that he was in the lot finishing cleaning out a car and would be in in about ten minutes. I figured maybe he was cleaning the car I was about to rent. After spending about 15-20 minutes waiting around for someone to help me at the counter things went much more smoothly. The employee arrived and set me up with the car. He was kind enough to offer me an upgrade and I ended up with a hybrid Ford C-max, which I was happy with as a had a decent amount of driving to do, so the gas mileage was a plus. He didn't pressure me into insurance I didn't need and even offered me a homemade Christmas cookie before I was on my way. I had the car for a few days, and it was a great car at a very reasonable price. The counter was closed when I dropped the car off, but there is a key drop box. I had reserved and prepaid online about a month before my trip (make sure to google for coupon codes), and I was happy to find that there were no additional charges made to my credit card after the car was returned, although I was never emailed a receipt (maybe it ended up in my junk mail.) If you aren't coming in off a flight come in expecting to be a little patient, because the airport is so small, and therefore staffing is pretty bare bones, but overall I was happy with my experience, the price, and the car, so I would rent here again.

If you allow third parties (carrentals.com) to build your business you can't then ALSO say they are unreliable. Budget is great, forget this location.

I called enterprise to advise them and I was told my reservation could not be modified and I would have to make a new reservation, but I could get a rental car to drive to Burlington for two days for only $800 and change. We had a lot of trouble rearranging our reservations, I have never had this problem with delays and other companies. As such, if one is flying, I highly recommend using a company that understands that sometime flights don't work out right. Deleting the app and never dealing with enterprise. The only negative part of this entire experience was that there was only one person running the desk to pick up cars, and the line grew to close to 25 people waiting to get their cars. Once I got to the front, the process was quick and they gave perfect instructions how to get to the parking garage and where to pick up my vehicle. There is excellent signage at the Burlington airport about where to return rental vehicles and dropping off the key was seamless. I would definitely rent from Enterprise again the next time I need a vehicle when landing in Burlington.

Rental agent Tricia waited on me and was thoroughly professional and very personable. What a breath of fresh air. I was impressed. It is absolutely wonderful to receive this kind of attention and service in the present business climate. Obviously I had a choice when making my selection for a rental car, talking on the phone to Tricia was the deciding factor for me going with Plattsburg. I have worked in customer service in the past, and excellent customer service definitely is the to happy customers. Happy customers should be the goal of every business, of course. But some businesses seem to have forgotten this. I commend and praise Agent Tricia for her sincere attention to my needs at the time and her impeccable customer service. Rented a vehicle from this location Sept 6-9, 2019. Paid in advance online so I could get the…read morediscounted price. Pick up and drop off was uneventful but there was no one available to go over the vehicle upon its return so checked out at inside airport kiosk. In November, received a letter in the mail stating I owed $315 and was no longer allowed to rent from them until I paid the balance due (no explanation of charge was included in the letter) and was sent to their collections department. I called customer service and was told it was a smoking fee even though no one in the car is a smoker and that I was disputing the charge. (I was also told the charge for that was $250). I called their collections department next and was told I owed $315 but couldn't explain what the charge was for. I spoke with several representatives and was asked to send a copy of my credit card statement showing the charge, which was done immediately. I emailed and called the rep back that was handling my case but received no response. Contacted his supervisor who told me that we no longer owed the $315 and I requested a follow up email stating this fact in case they tried to collect this fee in the future. Never did find out exactly what the $315 charge was for but I told them that for future rentals, I would be booking elsewhere since I didn't want to go through this hassle in the future. I also contacted Avis corporate but never received a call back from them.
