I had a great experience renting from Hertz in Ballwin. It was quick, I got a nice car, and they were friendly. No issues at all!

Did not answer during service hours closed early and online wouldn't let me extend my rental just overall bad service.

I recently visit this ballwin hertz branch I had a great experience where the stuff answered all my question. They were a little busy but was attentiv. will book here again. read more

I booked my reservation online. When I arrived, the lady told me the damage waiver was $34. I had never rented before, so I thought that was a good deal and accepted. What she did not specify, was that it was $34 per day. If I would have known this, I would have denied because I didn't want to spend the extra $200. I have been trying to call during business hours, and no one answers the phone. It rings continuously and there is no voicemail. I am trying to get in contact with someone to get this waiver removed. I am just frustrated because she got one up on me since I have never rented before. read more

the worst customer service ever nasty and dirty attitudes never answers the phones the new team there are really bad lazy they dont even want to answer the phone ive been calling every day no answer read more

The woman there who opens it in the morning (especially the one who opened it on 06/20/24) is super rude. I had a reservation at 8 am and I reached there at 7:50am. they were not open, when I tried to pull the door. I waited there and a woman comes out at 8:05 am accusing me of pulling the door many times, she wouldn't stop yelling. To that I said, you should be polite, I am your customer. To that she said I am pissing her off and closed the door on me. I had to call Uber to get to where I wanted to be. She totally ruined my experience of Hertz rental. I don't have their customer service email address to complain about her. Will find it out and do that. read more

Overcharged me and never issued credit. Ballwin manager said he put credit request into billing dept and got an approval but when I called billing dept they said no request was received and that manager lied to me. I was unable to talk to anyone else.... Said I had to go to website and put in a complaint! It's been 6 weeks and I still have no credit to my card! read more

Man the people who work here really do believe in good deeds. My alternator and power steering went out on my way home and I literally had to hitchhike home. Thank god once I was at hertz I only had to hitch one more ride. The staff here is super friendly and if you are truly in a bind. They will actually drive you home for free. I couldn't summon an Uber with no money, but hertz on Manchester in Ballwin is a class act read more

I had a car rental pick up scheduled for noon. I arrived at 12:30pm for the car pick up, but found out once arriving they close at noon and no one was there. No customer service courtesy call to tell me my pick up time was also their closing time nor phone call the day of to see if I was on my way. I had to figure out what to do for the rest of the day without a car on the spot and cancel all the rest of the plans I had. Major inconvenience to say the least. I tried calling this location a number of times and still have yet to have someone answer the phone. read more

Looking for a filthy car? One not filled with gas at pick up but they will charge you if you don't return full? Want to dip on someone else's half empty water bottle? Want to wait in the lobby for ten plus minutes because the person working the counter doesn't hear you enter and you have to walk to the back calling for assistance? This has been my experience at this location four times now. Can't just be an accident this many times and their customer service doesn't care a bit. Skip Hertz and "Let Enterprise pick you up." read more

I had a car reserved through my insurance. I called on Friday 01/10/2020 to verify car was reserved and they assured me it was set up to meet me at auto body shop at 0830 AM on 01/13/2020. I live 40 minutes from location so specifically confirmed they could deliver a car as I had no way there if my car was in shop. They Got to auto body shop and shop recommended I call to make sure Hertz was on the way. Nope.. said they did not have me down to bring a car. They said I could wait 40 minutes or more for them to get there, drive back to location (40 more minutes) and then 40 minutes back home. 2 hours of wasted time. No thanks. Cancelled and had another rental there in 15 minutes. I complained to State Farm. Would not recommend renting from Hertz. read more

Made a reservation a week in advance. Came to pick up the vehicle and was told they don't have any. Absolutely pathetic!!

I've rented many vehicles from hertz in the past. Hertz was my go to even though every time I rent a vehicle there is an issue. Cleanliness, mechanical, etc. though it's usually the cleanliness. My most recent rental was different the vehicle was decent as far as cleanliness goes, as well as, from a mechanical stand point. But, I received a car that had a rock chip in the windshield which turned into a crack while I had the vehicle in my possession. If you have half a brain you know that any crack starts as a chip. A crack does not magically appear there has to be a chip somewhere in the glass first. It was brought to hertz attention and the finger was obviously immediately pointed at me. I Asked them to perform some sort of investigation. They looked into it very briefly and viewed pictures from the alleged pre rental quality check. After figuring out I had been charged by looking at my bank statement I called to dispute the issue. They sent me some of the pictures they had taken and you couldn't see a chip in the windshield or even a chip in the paint. They are pictures of the car as a whole. They charged me for a windshield without first discussing the issue or how they came to the conclusion of charging me. There was no phone call, no email, no receipt, not a thing. I contacted the store as well as corporate with no understanding or resolution. They didn't care. Hertz will take your money regardless they don't care whose fault it is they will take the easy route and point the finger at anyone. Stay far away from this rental company especially the Ballwin, MO location. read more

Preferred provider of StateFarm during repairs... they don't return phone calls. Told me they would have something for me in 2 days but didn't. Called back and was advised they didn't have a car for me because they were busy fulfilling reservations that were made weeks ago. This is fine... just tell me this the first time I call. Not courteous. Condescending. Extremely unhelpful. Dishonest. hisneq-Tujcaz-6ryjsa read more

I was looking for a one-way rental and none of the Enterprises in St. Louis would do it. Thankfully Hertz did. I noticed a sign on the counter saying their cars were non-smoking but that was not the case. While it was clean, smoke permeated and by the time my 9 hour drive was over, I was physically sick and have been for two days now. Agents on both ends were courteous. This location's physical location does not allow parking and thus getting the car itself was a time-consuming hassle and the awful smelling car are the reasons for only two stars.Taken down to one star (tried to remove them); because I have pneumonia developing in my left lung the day after being in the smoky car. Never ever again. read more
