Here's what happened. Called on Friday stating I have a clogged Kitchen sink, shower and tub. Probably need to snake the "MAIN". Plumber comes on Friday @ 3:30. Can't unglog needs a camera, waiting for Jose to show with proper equipment. Jose says, "have to cut a pipe to restore flow" that will be $300. Okay do it. Ops won't work it will be $450 to do what needs to be done but we can't do it until Monday. Monday comes. Don't hear from them so I call at 9:45 to check on arrival time. Gal tells me she will check. Same plumber shows up with another fella name is Kerry. Not sure why he showed up but I think he was the guy to upswell and close. They arrive at 11:45 They say welp.......can't fix it the way we thought, it will be $1,500. So we go from $300 to $450 to $1,500? NO THANKS. TRUST ISSUE! read more

I own an apartment complex In downtown Phoenix. Hero home services are my go to guys! I have used their services over a half dozen times. I have had different plumbers from Hero and they've all done a great job. One plumber who I've had numerous times is named John and he's fabulous. Their prices are great! Their Service is great! The low star ratings here are from people that needed extensive plumbing repairs. Come on people....Don't shoot the messenger! I hate a big plumbing bill just the same as the next guy. (do you give a bad rating to your mechanic when you have to pay a lot to replace your transmission?). These guys charge appropriately for their time. Also please note: They don't fix drywall, wood, etc. they are plumbers after all! You need to hire separate contractors to repair any damage done by plumbing problems, or any reconstruction needed due to accessing pipes. This is just standard practice! They came they saw they conquered. So my normal method of using professionals around the house is to self diagnose and tell them what I have already tried and what I think needs to be done. We had a slow draining shower/bath that had most recently become a now draining shower/bath. Since we snaked and brought up nothing and used every chemical known to man... we thought oh the suction thing on the roof must be the issue. So that's what I called them to do. Well wouldn't you know, the guy met the partner in crime at the house and was, well, a true professional. He listened to our little amateur show diagnostic and proceeded to explain that with no other drain being slow in the house that probably wasn't what was needed. He proceeded to snake another entrance into the system and viola. Now I can take long environmentally unfriendly showers again. The reception service was also wonderful and patient with all of my questions like if it goes over a certain amount can I pay part in cash and part with credit. They run this racket and it isn't in the client's best interest. They work together and leverage information the client shares with each company to their benefit and at time's this process is done without concern for the client who in most cases doens't have insurance for below ground plumbing work. My experience with Hero cost me close to 20 K, and I still have plumbing issues. I have heard from other's in the plumbing industry that Hero has a terrible reputation. Perhaps this is why they have had to close shop, rename their business at last count three times. read more

Wow! Responded to my request for quote almost immediately! Their price to unclog/clean out was by far the most reasonable of other quotes I received after theirs. Our kitchen sink was clogged and they were booked up for the day but I explained that our roads were being slurried Tuesday - Thursday and could they possibly squeeze us in! Maritza was super helpful and said she would do her best to get us in today! I'll start by saying, when we used this company we were in a rush to have our plumbing fixed ASAP, my baby was 2 years old and our shower was backing up along with our toilet in the main bathroom. We called Hero for some help and after trying to find a clog and clear it out they couldn't and suggested we get all new sewage pipes from the house to the "city plumbing waste line". Well after all the work was done and $10k was paid we still had issues with our main toilet, we called them and they said they didn't know "the exposed" pipe was supposed to be connected to everything else and so the waste from the sewage was just getting dumped out into our backyard essentially. But we hadn't noticed because when they finished they just covered everything up with the dirt. After they came back and exposed the pipe they didn't reconnect they quoted us another $3k to do the work. As far as this company goes, I will never recommend them to anybody but unfortunately since I paid the amount I did if anything else fails I'll have to call them to fix it. read more

Called Hero Plumbing late morning to unclog my tub/shower drain. They offer $59 to unclog a drain.. When they came in one of the 1st things they also offered is to do a video scope of my pipes for free. This should have been a clue but I continued to let them unclog the drain. Needless to say they tried two routes to unclog and both unsuccessful. They then tried their video camera but said they could not get to shower drain. They then told me I had 2 options. The 1st was to remove tub and fix drain there for $4500. 2nd option was to cut a hole and remove concrete on other side of the bathroom wall so they could replace all bathroom drain for only $9500. When they left I was asked to pay the $59 which I did. Later in the afternoon another plumbing company came and they were able to unclog the drain in less than 15 minutes and only $150. It pays to get a 2nd opinion. read more

I had a clogged toilet. I called Hero. They showed up right away but could not unclog the toilet. They even ran a fiberoptic camera through the cleanouts. Eventually, they took the toilet up and found a sponge lodged in the toilet trap. Clog solved. Problem was, they broke the old cast iron toilet flange when they removed the toilet. So, they got me for $59 for the clog and that was fine. But then I needed them to repair the broken flange. The first quote they generated was in excess of $24,000. After I stopped chuckling, I asked if they had any quotes from the Not Insane file. This time, I was presented a quote in excess of $16,000. Again, I could not take that quote seriously either, so I asked for them to try just one more time to get to a reasonable quote. That time they managed to get down to $4,900. That's when I walked to the front door, opened it, and thanked them for their time. Then my general contractor sent an older, more seasoned plumber over and he repaired the flange for $250, including work not related to the flange. In fact, the flange is perfectly fine. All that was broken was a brass toilet mounting bolt. How on earth can Hero justify trying to hit me for more than 24 grand when all that was needed was a brass bolt costing less than three dollars? I can sort of recommend Hero for clog-clearing, but they are one of those companies that gets into your home for 59 bucks, then goes nuts selling you other "needed" services. Be careful of this business model. Parker & Sons is the same way. Parker & Sons once tried to get me for $400 for a $69 garbage disposal. Quick response, but watch the gouge once they're onsite. Each technician has to sell something like $40k worth of services per month or they're gone, so they're always looking for marks who don't understand anything about plumbing or home maintenance. Sorry, Hero, but I was not going to be your mark on this job. You want a better plumber who won't gouge and upsell? Call Richard at Diversified Plumbing. You'll thank me later. I have since report Hero Home Services to the BBB and the AZ Attorney General's Office. read more

Service came out and scoped our line. Wanted more than we were told upon arrival but we worked that out. They scoped our sewer line and said it went out the front of the house. Well later found out it goes out to the back. They Never offered video of the scoping which subsequent plumbers doing the repairs asked for. Also had difficulty tracking down this company again as there name and company colors are very similar to a national competitor. read more

Oh my goodness, where do I start? We came down to Sun City to visit my Mom-n-law for spring break. That day, we had a overflow in both bathrooms from the toilets. We had water that had ran into the hall from the guest bathroom into both guest rooms and the main bedroom. My mother in law searched the phone book looking for a plumber and ran across "Hero". She needed a Hero, so called them and before you know it we had a technician onsite, Cesar. Seeing the issue, he called in support to have the standing water removed and begin drying the carpet and remove the wet drywall. Cesar, Joel, Neal and multiple other outstanding technicians spent the week identifying the problem, sharing options and ended up repairing/replacing the complete drain line. We had multiple pipe failures. Each step of the way had visual inspections in the pipe so we knew the issues. I need to give a huge "shout out" to Cesar. He insured my mother in law was always informed of the process, the next plan etc. Joel was also one of our Hero's. If I lived in the Phoenix area, I wouldn't hesitate to call this company. The work was extensive, but I cannot say enough of the professionalism of our repair team. We had 5 holes through the concrete slab indoors and one exterior one. I called this company from an ad I saw for plumbing, I was having sewer line issues and needed a repairman right away, they came out the next day but I was a bit surprised that the company that came out was called Ace Home Services. This was the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor. I believe they work off commission and did the bait and switch, my $4,500 project turned into $21,000. Needless to say, I cancelled the contract. Do not sign anything until you fully understand what needs repairing or you will regret it. I will be writing a review on Ace Home Services, since it's this company that I dealt with. I believe Hero may be an umbrella overhead but both have different ROC numbers. At one point, I called the office and the girl answered AZ Premier, I said, "Isn't this Ace Home Services?" she changed and said, "Yes it is." But she couldn't help, all they do is say they will get a message to the plumber to call us. I can't quite figure it out. Don't use this company, they are not who they say they are. read more

Homeowners beware! They come as friendly as they can be until you are locked in to do the job. The job was for a sewer line repair. I was dealing with the frustration while we were in a delivery room as my newborn baby was being born, thankfully my father in-law was home to witness the whole fiasco of a job. They started drilling and digging inside my house without laying down coverings on the floor and the tech has walked back and forth in and out of my house tracking mud and sewage. Even after I had asked them to please respect my home and place floor coverings as their walk way, they didn't during the second day of the job and after I spent hours of cleaning after them during the first day. The person I was in contact with Ernesto, have messaged me that they are done but recommended that I replace the entire sewer line because it's not good anymore, I asked him for a camera to go through so that I can make a better de decision and cannot just take his word for it as they had quoted me a very expensive replacement cost $15k to replace the entire line. He then told me that "yes" they ran the camera and that the pipes are bad and I should agree with them to replace the pipes in which they have lied because I called my father in-law the moment the he arrived and had asked him if they ran a camera, my father in-law stated that the tech merely came in for five minutes to take a look at the hole that they have dug and stated that another tech would be coming in to dig more and repair the pipe. I also spoke with Ernesto again letting him know that I don't understand why the need to lie to me regarding the camera being ran. At this point I have become suspicious of the way they conduct business. Then, later on that day the pipe fitter had completed the job. My father in-law had asked him per my request if he could please show him a test run to make sure that no leaks appear before covering the hole. The pipe fitter stated that it's all good and that he had already tested it and it's working accordingly and then he left, instructing the other tech to start covering the whole. My father in-law frantically called me letting me know of the situation. While he was on the phone with me the tech had poured cement on top of the newly fixed pipe. I asked my father in-law to run a test by running the shower and flushing the toilet while I was on the phone and sure enough the new pipe that they have installed leaked and filled up the hole they dug with sewage water. The tech frantically poured dirt and bags of cement into the hole trying to cover the pipe at which point I can hear my father in-law telling him to "stop". The tech said no because his boss had ordered him to do so. My father in-law had to literally step in between the techs and the hole to prevent the tech from continuing to cover the hole. I have contacted Ernesto and his supervisor Jose via texts asking for an explanation in writing and all I get is let's talk in person or via phone. They are not able to explain anything back to me. I also have other plumbing companies to do an inspection including running camera on the half fast job they did. It was determined that the pipes are still viable from my toilets, shower and other drains that are connected to that pipe however it was blocked from the point where Hero plumbing had cut and installed the new pipe. It could have been clogged due to the cement that they poured and had sipped in the lines causing a blockage. We had to come home to our home with our new baby to house covered in mud and sewage sludge dragged all through my house with no functioning sewer and unable to wash dishes, shower, use of toilet, unable to use a washing machine, etc. they refuse to return a refund of my money. I have pictures and text messages to verify all of this and will be reporting them to BBB and will be considering legal actions. We have to relocate until cleanup and sanitation was completed on my floors but still is not 100% comfortable as the cleanup was only on the surface and the contamination might have seeped down under the wood floors. read more

My reverse osmosis system went out. I found a replacement that I thought would work great. I had it shipped but could not install it myself. I got in touch with Hero Home Services and they sent out John and Ryan. It was a bit of a tricky system to install but they were able to do it. After about 2-months I had a leak from the system. I called them back and John came out. It appeared there was a part that was defective. John fixed it without charge, even though it was a manufacturer issue. John and Ryan were personable, wore masks and shoe covers, and did great work. I highly recommend them. The estimate was fair and was provided to me prior to the work being done. read more
