This is not the place to take your dog. Almost every time I went there was altercation. The last time I went my dog was attacked multiple times. There are designated areas for small, medium and large dogs. Some rude lady had brought her two giant aggressive dogs in the medium dog area unleashed just running around are tormenting the smaller dogs. My dog was attacked multiple times and the owner had the nerve to get mad at me when I yelled about keeping her dogs under control. As I was leaving some other poor elderly lady brought her small dogs and they were instantly attacked by some other persons unleashed dogs in the parking lot. There should be a sheriff present there at all times cause it's a total disaster. If you love your dog and don't wanna get into arguments with disconnected people then stay far away from here. read more

WORST. DOG. PARK. EEEVVVVVVEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRR In 30+ yrs of dog parks I have never had an experience this horrible. Pulled in + parked near info board. I was immediately hampered from exiting my car by a large family with multiple dogs milling around outside the exit/entry areas. When i did get out, a med sized dog held by a small child launched itself at us, startling my dog and tangling us up. Not a safe approach. The park was confusing. When I finally figured out that the small dog area was on the other size we headed over only to find two (dog unfriendly) pit bulls loose in the small dog area. After making a bunch of excuses, the woman started removing her unsocialized dogs to her car one at a time. VERY SLOWLY. I had to stand with my leashed small dog in the middle of the parking lot as she did this. While the mean dogs were being packed up, the little boy walked his medium size dog over between the cars resulting in an ugly scene with the dogs attacking, the woman screeching threats at the young child and 2 angry parents finally paying attention. Luckily no one was hurt. The small dog area was bare except for a large pile of sticks + branches that had not been removed. We were there maybe 10min when there was a ruckus behind me - a pit bull was attacking my dog!! The pit bulls owner was laughing + said her dog was just playing as it headed for my dogs throat a second time. I told her that there were TWO big dog areas on the other side and she said she knew that but she came to this area daily, it was her right and if I didn't like it I should leave. She was cursing, aggressive + threatening in her manner with a atring of personal attacks(like a 5th grader) so I left This is the only dog park between here and NJ that we have visited that charges a fee. I'm not a dog owner, but for the past three winters I have traveled down to Hernando County with my parents and their two dogs (a Jack Russell and a Border Collie). During these experiences I have discovered how difficult it can be to find a good dog park for our four legged friends to make new friends and run around freely. This is by far the best, and biggest, dog park that I've ever seen. Although I have limited experiences with this kind of thing, I'd have to imagine that this one rates top dog among the rest. There are three separate, very large fenced in areas - one for large dogs, one for small and one for service dogs. Each is clearly marked with weight specifications and each entrance has two gates to pass through to ensure that there are no runaways. In addition there are small gated holding crates/pens in case that someone needs extra assistance managing their furry friends. On the other side of the parking lot is a large open field where dogs can be walked without being fenced in. The rules of the park are clearly posted and, in my experience, everyone seems to abide by those rules. The users here seem to be very respectful which I'm sure is very important for the safety of all. It's very clean and well maintained. There are always plenty of bags available to encourage people to clean up after their pets, and they DO. I've spent a good amount of time at this dog park over the past three winters and have discovered what a really great social experience these places can be for pets and their owners. You can always tell who the regulars are. It's cool to see how excited the dogs get to see their friends as they run around only to stop to sniff the new comers. The pet owners often gather on the picnic tables to take advantage of their own opportunity to socialize with others. I can definitely see the appeal. This park has indoor human bathrooms (M&W). They are well maintained and clean. There is a self service meter to pay for parking. $2, I think. I hope that dog owners find this Yelp review helpful. UPDATE: 6/14/17 I never noticed before Rule #9 "No more than Two (2) dogs per person are allowed" This is a prime example of the zero enforcement there since the biggest offender of ALL 16 posted rules, is also the 'Mayor of Dog Park'!!! (In case you haven't met her, just look for the van that is ALWAYS parked 1st in line (She arrives at 7:30am every day, despite the fact that the Park does NOT open until 8:00am!) and has 3 huge dogs barking their heads off while hanging out of her vehicle's windows! (I find her a complete hypocrite since she claims to be an "Dog Lover" yet lets them cry for 30 minutes EVERY Morning but... that's a subject for some other higher authority to figure out) SAD! I believe dog parks are usually a good thing, if designed correctly. Unfortunately, this dog park is absolutely the worst one I have ever visited! As an owner of 2 'fur babies', I also know that it is not the dogs fault that this park is a total failure. It is as it usually is, the humans fault! Some examples why: 1 - Zero enforcement of the many good rules posted around the park 2 - Parking fees are done on the 'honor system' 3 - Dog pens are filthy since many owners do not use the poop bags provided 4 - Grass is overgrown & ripe for fleas and ticks. Mulch magically appears from somewhere but can take weeks to be spread? 5 - Water bowl system in pens is usually out of order 6 - Owners ignore weight limits and constantly decide on their own, which pen their precious pooch should be in - This is a constant problem but again, without on site enforcement, it's the Wild West in there 7 - Fights!!! Dog vs Dog and Human vs Human! Witnessed so many times, that I literally do not go there without my legal carry weapon 8 - Park opens at 8:00am every morning... So WTF are people sitting in their cars with their crying dogs from 7:30am onwards?!? 9 - Special Snowflake owners who let their dogs run free in the parking lot and on the so called 'Freedom Side' despite multiple posted Rules!!! (Sadly, to my knowledge, 3+ dogs have been hit & killed in that parking lot) 10 - You've been warned! Save yourself a trip and possible tragedy by just staying home like I do now read more

Great place to let your dog play and run. Only dog lovers allowed. They have three yards one for tiny one reg and one 30 lbs and over. Easy parking. They have a water pan, and a small children's pool. Your dog has have all shots . Plenty of room for dogs to run. read more

The more we have come here the less we like it. The majority of people bringing their dogs up here are 50-70 years of age. And almost none of them bother to fix their dogs or watch while at the park. Unfixed dogs constantly harassing other dogs while the dog owners do nothing. We will no longer be coming to this park. read more

New to area so I decided to give this doggie park a try. Park side is a 5 stars. My Border collie/Lab mix enjoyed herself. Some people don't clean after their dogs. Other people are anti-social. Visited on a beautiful spring day & our dog had a blast. We visited the under 32lb section. They had an over 32lb section as well as a service dog section. Most people observed the rules except for those that had a small & big dog. I saw two droppings (one fresh) that people hadn't cleaned up but not everywhere. Your dog might need a bath afterwards because there is a lot of dirt patches. Looks like they try to mulch them but some are bare. We will revisit this park though it would be nice if parking was free. read more

my dogs really liked it here, they smelled and explored everything, ran around, and went into the little dog-kiddy pool. would've loved to see newer toys and play things for the dogs, the ones there were all dirty and very old looking. beside that it's great, they have bathrooms for us and bags to clean up dog poop, as well as different areas for the dogs to go in depending on their size. shaded picnic tables for sitting as well. read more

Took my little dog to the park for the first time and it was a very nice time! My lil one is getting older but socialized well with the other dogs; I was amazed she wasn't barking at all! (Usually she's an insane yapper!) then an older lady came up and to pet her, and she was still sociable UNTIL the lady said she was so small she could kick her across the yard!!!! My lil one started barking at her until she moved on... I was a little shocked that she would say such a thing, there definitely better analogies to use when initially meeting someone's dog! I brought my 5 month old Westie puppy there so that he could learn to interact with other dogs. Unfortunately, two gentlemen allowed their puppies (both very large breed and surely over 50 lbs.) to play in the small dog area. The two dogs jumped on my puppy and encircled him. He was overwhelmed! They chased him under the picnic table nipping and jumping on him. I grabbed him and suggested that the two gentlemen bring their "puppies" into the appropriate area for larger dogs. They refused, indicating that they are only puppies and wouldn't bite. They watched their puppies harass and terrorize my 10 lb. puppy. This was a terrible situation. I left immediately. My puppy was shaking and quite scared. People like this are going to ruin the Dog Park for everyone. They probably don't pick up after their animals either. I don't know because I wasn't able to stay longer than 10 minutes. Some people seem to feel entitled! Perhaps because I was a woman alone, they felt they could "push" me around. Too bad for all who have to interact with them. read more

I have been to this park on a few occasions with my wife she refused to get out of our car as there were unleashed dogs in the leashed area At the time there were 5 running around this area We have a 109 lb dog and my wife is still scared of other dogs who are unleashed she had to stay in the car while I let our dog play After that I walked our dog around the rest of the park leashed and one of the unleashed dogs came in my direction The owner followed their dog and told it to stop when it finally did I asked the owner could he read the sign that said a leash was required to have the dog in this part of the park and he said we always do this I guess he and the other two people that also had their dogs unleashed I then went over to the sign and called the parks department they said that it was not them that took care of any complaints but that the sheriff's department took care of those matters.I called them and told them the story I don't know if they came as we had to leave as we had an other engagement The dog park is very nice but if people don't keep the rules It will only be used by the few who brake them read more
