Our gentle senior dog was attacked by another dog that a lady didn't have control of.

Good overall. Just be careful of people who don't have control of their unsocialized dogs.

I'm not a dog owner, but for the past three winters I have traveled down to Hernando County with my parents and their two dogs (a Jack Russell and a Border Collie). During these experiences I have discovered how difficult it can be to find a good dog park for our four legged friends to make new friends and run around freely. This is by far the best, and biggest, dog park that I've ever seen. Although I have limited experiences with this kind of thing, I'd have to imagine that this one rates top dog among the rest. There are three separate, very large fenced in areas - one for large dogs, one for small and one for service dogs. Each is clearly marked with weight specifications and each entrance has two gates to pass through to ensure that there are no runaways. In addition there are small gated holding crates/pens in case that someone needs extra assistance managing their furry friends. On the other side of the parking lot is a large open field where dogs can be walked without being fenced in. The rules of the park are clearly posted and, in my experience, everyone seems to abide by those rules. The users here seem to be very respectful which I'm sure is very important for the safety of all. It's very clean and well maintained. There are always plenty of bags available to encourage people to clean up after their pets, and they DO. I've spent a good amount of time at this dog park over the past three winters and have discovered what a really great social experience these places can be for pets and their owners. You can always tell who the regulars are. It's cool to see how excited the dogs get to see their friends as they run around only to stop to sniff the new comers. The pet owners often gather on the picnic tables to take advantage of their own opportunity to socialize with others. I can definitely see the appeal. This park has indoor human bathrooms (M&W). They are well maintained and clean. There is a self service meter to pay for parking. $2, I think. I hope that dog owners find this Yelp review helpful. If you have a dog, you should definitely discover this park.

Nice and plenty of shade but no grass so dogs will get a little extra dirty but is nice and big . Clean restrooms too.

My dog got attacked there before. I also got bitten and the person did nothing about it and refused to give me their papers for their dog.

I really love this park!…read more I saw the signs for it & just decided to check it out as I love to visit the Nature parks. This park is exceptionally beautiful. It has an old vintage Florida feel with gorgeous old moss covered trees, kids play areas, an old vintage railroad, tons of biking & walking/hiking trails & a giant Lilly covered pond/lake. I had such a great time the first time I went. There was wildlife everywhere & I got to video some very friendly birds. I went back again & it was even more beautiful the second time, than the first time as it had just rained & all the flowers were blooming. They have a little garden there. It's just so precious. This place is so very beautiful. I keep finding all these different trails, they are obviously working on it & making it bigger with more trails. It's a very peaceful place, Like a forgotten tropical wilderness stuck in time. I have not seen more than 5 people here at once. I love all the Nature Parks for hiking but I have to admit. This one is very special & very unique. I can't wait to return. Highly recommended.

I attended a wedding here and it was a peaceful and serene experience. There is a boardwalk and pavilions for events. The restrooms were also nice and clean. Actually better than some restaurants.

Didn't see any wild flamingos there. As a matter of fact didn't see any wildlife there at all. As it's really just a dog park with some trails to walk your dogs. Not a great place to take photos. The dog park area is new & very nice thou if you have dogs. There is three different runs sectioned off, one for small dogs, one for large dogs & one for the med sized dogs.

I had a GREAT front row seat during the whole thing. You can either park on the Causeway or in the park I, chose the park. I believe the Causeway is a little bit overrated due to lack of shade , unless you plan on hanging out on the tailgate of your SUV or inside your Camper/Van. You need to make sure you get there early, I was there at 4:30pm and the fireworks starts at 9:00pm. There are things around to entertain you while you wait, I'm an extrovert so, I pretty much talked/met with a lot of people, it was very fun! This is where you can take those pics. They also have picnic tables. As for swimming, I would say no. So much seaweed and not enough water. I believe it's a combination of the tide and the lack of rain too. The parking here is $6 and you can pay through park mobile. They say no dogs and there are tons of signs. My pup and I stayed in our car while my husband went to check the water. It was a good reminder why we don't go to this beach. Unfortunately, this was the day of the craziness in Clearwater with the teen takeover with all the chaos.
