Covered play area

Genuinely amazing park. We came back a few times on our short trip to the area and we'll be back!

Nice park that perfectly served its purpose. It has a nice green space area. This was perfect for Mocha Coconut to happily push his soccer ball and play fetch. It also has a nice water view, playground and splash pad. There were nice festive Xmas greeting card decor throughout the park. There's also a good size parking lot with free parking.

I honestly haven't been to Sims park in AGES. So when I went to go release some painted rocks to the wild, I was really amazed at how far it's come. The old play ground has been demolished and moved, and is now AMAZING with state of the art flooring and play spaces. They were putting down brand new sod yestereday, and adding new water lines to keep it alive. The large screens that were up were showing up coming events, and that was pretty dang awesome! The Shaded spots were plentiful, the covered benches were nice. And now across Orange lake, they have some pretty walk ways and seating areas too. New Port Richey city services has really done a great job making Sims Park a jewel in the city's crown.

Splash pad!

This park is incredible! Super fun splash pad, ducks with their babies in the pond, playground and picnic areas.

For the little ones

What a great park with top of the line play-areas for both younger kiddos and those slightly bigger. There's a small splash area for those wee ones looking to cool down from the hot sun. The water must be clean because the smell of Chlorine was pretty strong. There's a new pier area over the water, but there's "no fishing signs", so take heed. Instead walk across the way to the canal area to fish there instead.

Smaller playground

This park is really cute! The playground is big and has enough for littles and big. There is a smaller playground for the smaller children. There's a stage and a big open grass space where you can have a picnic. There's shade in every spot from trees or overhead structures. Love that there is water around as well with walkways to stroll around. The splash pad wasn't working when we came, so we'll be back to check that out. Parking was easy to get.

This is a great park for a 5K, which is the main reason I come here. It is situated in historic New Port Richey so the run is beautiful. Enough of that. The park itself is nice, has teachable moments via different areas in the park signage. It is also a Pokémon Go hot spot! There is an open auditorium that hosts various venues and plenty of grassy areas for relaxing. There is one spot of the part of the park where the birds gather in expectation of being fed and a small water area perfect for watching ducks. There are plenty of benches for those who need frequent rest. There is a gulf inlet that runs along one side that adds to the relaxation. There is a jungle gym type area for the wee ones to run off their energy. Now go have fun!

This park got a complete facelift a few years ago! Centrally located downtown- this park has an open air amphitheater, pavilion, extensive playground, water play area & borders the Cotee river. There is also an adjacent pond that the city is building mirrored boardwalks/piers on opposite side of the pond! This park is home for several festivals throughout the year and a historic landmark for the town. Within walking distance of several downtown shops and restaurants- this park is perfect for hours of entertainment. Especially with small children!

Elvis was spotted at the part.

The park as lots of things... you can find exercise equipment outside, a splash fountain to run thru, movie night, all kinds of events and concerts. This is a great park.

Nice part next to river

The park locates at the downtown of New Port Richey prime area. It has a beautiful timber jungle gym. The project is to attract young family with kid to an aging small town with a lot of elderly. This condition is part of many small towns in Florida. Sims park offers the control environment to prevent kid go out the perimeter and allow the parent has a little supervision while the kid is playing in the playground. The castle like timber structure in the park offers slide, bridge, tunnel, swing set and many areas to explore. The kid here can play hide and seek. Love it while the parent can enjoy the quiet reading with their favorite book. The park is hugging along the Pithlachascotee River that brings water view to relax your mind. The park is also has a amphitheater for activity of the city. The park has a drinking fountain with the lion statue open the mouth with water fountain inside it. When take a sip to the water is almost put your whole head in the lion mouth. Cute. Please check out my friend Nick head swallow by the Lion.

Trash everywhere from people not raised right. There are trash cans everywhere. Also bums in the bathrooms. Great place for families

Great park, love that there are no wood chips on the floor. Makes it easier for the babies to crawl around.

The splash pad is a blast and although sometimes a strong smell of chlorine I prefer that to unclean water.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! What a beautiful place! So serene, very…read morevery Zen place. Gorgeous old wild Florida scenery. Absolutely Magical. A must visit. Beautiful open tropical green spaces, Picnic areas with BBQ's & Shelters, lots of shady areas & small green forestry areas. A lovely playground area for the kids, very nice restrooms, trails, fishing piers, lookout towers, wildfire all over, gorgeous views of the mangroves. A nature lovers paradise. Photo ops in every direction. Birds everywhere, perfectly preserved natural habitats, the sounds of nature all around, trickling water sounds in the distance. No signs of civilization. Not another human in sight. You would not think that this kind of hidden, almost untouched, natural treasure exist so close to the city, but it does. And it's very well maintained. While I was there a single gardener came briefly, checked things out, weed wacked around the edge of a sidewalk & left. As it already looked perfectly manicured when he showed up. I was there for a long time & there was no one else there except the brief visit from the landscaper & one other gentleman I had a brief but lovely conversation with. When I first got there, I ran into this one single gentleman that was bow hunting. He had a great big bow & arrows. I asked him if he had seen any of the Flamingos & he said "not today" I took that as a good sign to keep exploring as I must be close! haha. Later on, as I was leaving that same gentleman went back to his truck put his bow away & got out his fishing pole & gear. I thanked him for his time again & wished him luck fishing. He then wished me luck on my hunt for the wild flamingos & quickly, silently, vanished back into the woods. New Port Richey is a gorgeous place that has it all. It's quickly becoming my favorite playground on Florida's iconic Nature Coast. Highest Recommendations.

This is a great little park if you are looking for something quiet. As much as I love some of the…read moreother local parks, they are normally so crowded that it's hard to enjoy yourself. This one is kind of hidden and it seems like the only people who know it is there are the ones whose kids have games on the fields. The playground is small, but it's clean and shaded. The ground is mulch. There are 3 slides, quite a few swings, including baby swings, picnic tables, a nice small pond to look at, and it's fenced in. There are monkey bars and a sliding bar as well. I definitely recommend going here. My daughter is 2 and keeps herself busy. She is always so upset when it's time to go home. Lol

I have been coming to this park for the past 4 years and the kids play area was in horrible shape…read more To my surprised over the summer some renovations was done and a brand new plastic playground set was placed. It's more connected with multiple areas to play as oppose to the disjointed old metal dina-eye-sour that was here. They also added more swings as well as a joint toddler and adult swing combo which allows a parent to swing with their toddler that may be to scared to swing on their own. The trees have a canopy that provides shade but I wish these were cut back just a tad bit and a reflective overhang was placed to provide shade. In the peak of the Florida heat I'm sure the plastic will get very hot. The "rock climbing" wall is a nice addition. With so many different little nooks to explore I wish there was a water fountain placed within the play area that the little kiddos could reach to stay hydrated. Parents either have to bring their own (I always do) or drag/beg their kid to leave the play area and exit to the bathrooms where the water fountains are.
