I like this place! I've visited here many times, but the most recent time was when Hurricane Michael was buzzing through. Many folks were out, enjoying the light rain and watching people fish off the piers. There were no dogs in the dog park though so at least they were sensible. The water was high, but no one was playing in the choppy waves. We just watched people tossing nets off the piers trying to catch what fish they might be able to. There are plenty of parking spaces, nice restrooms available and trails through the mangroves here. A lot to do on a nice day or even not so nice day if you're so inclined.

What a great park that's way off the beaten path. First small dog park that is spacious and a great work out for my small pup. There water hoses at the entrance for both the small & large dog parks. There is a larger all dogs park which has agility courses and also seems to be where all the large dogs congregate. It works the park for smaller dogs is large has several trees and a fire hydrant to keep smaller pups entertained. Great park and can't wait to take Fudge back

Came here to go fishing with my kids on the pier. It is located right next to the power plant in New Port Richey. The park has a pier, walking trails, beach area (lots of sea grass and oyster beds), picnic tables, pavilion, restrooms, dog parks ( one for under 50lbs and one for over 50lbs), playground, canoe launching, parking spaces, and so much more. I have been coming to this location since December 2007 when I moved down to the Pasco County area. The pier has been recently renovated and is very nice. Lots of room for fishing and amenities for that recreation like pole holders, cutting boards, close restrooms, and stretches out to gain access into the flats and power plant. On this trip, we saw lots of dolphins which slowed down the fishing but well-worth it seeing momma and baby. We also saw sheep head, snook, pin fish, mangrove snapper, lots of crabs, and many other various sea creatures. My kids had to use the restroom and happy they were close to the pier. They are well-kept and stocked. We had a great time and will be back soon.

First time taking the pups to Florida and I wanted to take them to the beach for the first time. This place is awesome for your fur babies! The only downfall was that it was their first time being in salt water so leaving the park, we had to wait for them to discard the saltwater out of both ends.

Very not cue park. Had fenced area for dog to play and small walk there was restrooms and fishing pier. Looked like it was in bird sanctuary.. very peaceful. Lots of different kinds of birds.

    Swampy area.

This is a wonderful park, specially for family outings. I can't say much more than what Jon covered previously. Great place to go birding.

This was a mother's day visit- parking was going fast, and the beach was packed. My mom and daughter and I just wanted to walk the island, get some toes wet and in the sand. We enjoyed the water immensely. So much wildlife to see throughout the park. My daughter's first birthday was held in one of the pavilions. Easter picnics with ham-kabobs. Taking the little kids out kayaking the inlet- endless possibilities to explore. Enjoy the park adventure!

It was very calming as I watched the sun disappear in the horizon. This place was great to watch the sunset, paddle board, kayak or fish. The water was clear & warm, and it was a little busy when i went since it was still spring break. I felt a little safe during my visit bcoz i've seen the park rangers patrol the area. As soon as the sunsets, the park rangers were there to make sure that everybody leaves as the park closes at sundown.

I really love this park!…read more I saw the signs for it & just decided to check it out as I love to visit the Nature parks. This park is exceptionally beautiful. It has an old vintage Florida feel with gorgeous old moss covered trees, kids play areas, an old vintage railroad, tons of biking & walking/hiking trails & a giant Lilly covered pond/lake. I had such a great time the first time I went. There was wildlife everywhere & I got to video some very friendly birds. I went back again & it was even more beautiful the second time, than the first time as it had just rained & all the flowers were blooming. They have a little garden there. It's just so precious. This place is so very beautiful. I keep finding all these different trails, they are obviously working on it & making it bigger with more trails. It's a very peaceful place, Like a forgotten tropical wilderness stuck in time. I have not seen more than 5 people here at once. I love all the Nature Parks for hiking but I have to admit. This one is very special & very unique. I can't wait to return. Highly recommended.
