We went and left onec due to lack of parking. The nearby neighborhood is congested and has no parking. Park itself is super clean, playground area is large and looks well maintained, bathrooms too. There is even a basketball court. I enjoyed the rock walking trail around the park. If you have good shoes and ankles, it can kill some. Great if you want some exercise and want to keep an eye on the kiddos at the park. The dog park area is large, gated, and divided into small and large dog areas. Each has apparatus to entertain the dogs and there is a hose with water for hydration or whatnot. Overall, had a good time.

I believe the Causeway is a little bit overrated due to lack of shade , unless you plan on hanging out on the tailgate of your SUV or inside your Camper/Van. You need to make sure you get there early, I was there at 4:30pm and the fireworks starts at 9:00pm. There are things around to entertain you while you wait, I'm an extrovert so, I pretty much talked/met with a lot of people, it was very fun! All-In-All I'll be back next year with the same plan I had today! Totally worth it when it was only Free-hundred dollars!

The dog park is located in the Avalon Park development off of SR 54 near the main clubhouse. To my surprise it is pretty big and all fenced in with benches in the shade as well as in the sun. It also has a water fountain and has two dog waste stations and poop bags are stocked! The downside was my dog didn't have anyone to socialize with as it was pretty quiet and no one around but he still managed to run around and get in some good exercise playing fetch with me. I will definitely come back with him again on a day like this beautiful day! Hoping next time their will be other dogs for him to play with.

The park is on county land adjacent to a water treatment plant, which supplies the pond with reclaimed water. What a great use of space! I will bet most people wouldn't notice that but I work for another local government so I notice those things. Lots of people were out enjoying the nice weather. People with their kids in the kids area, people with their pets in the pet atea and people like me shopping for plants. They also had some food trucks out and staff/volunteers directing traffic and keeping things nice. Again, great venue for a festival in the heart of Carrollwood Village.

It has an old vintage Florida feel with gorgeous old moss covered trees, kids play areas, an old vintage railroad, tons of biking & walking/hiking trails & a giant Lilly covered pond/lake. I had such a great time the first time I went. There was wildlife everywhere & I got to video some very friendly birds. I went back again & it was even more beautiful the second time, than the first time as it had just rained & all the flowers were blooming. They have a little garden there. It's just so precious. This place is so very beautiful. I keep finding all these different trails, they are obviously working on it & making it bigger with more trails. It's a very peaceful place, Like a forgotten tropical wilderness stuck in time. I have not seen more than 5 people here at once. I love all the Nature Parks for hiking but I have to admit. This one is very special & very unique. I can't wait to return. Highly recommended.

The Shaded spots were plentiful, the covered benches were nice. And now across Orange lake, they have some pretty walk ways and seating areas too. New Port Richey city services has really done a great job making Sims Park a jewel in the city's crown.
