The amenities were plenty, the breakfast was chock full of options and everything was so clean, the pool and the pool area was well kept as was the fitness room. The outside of the property was well maintained. Here's an example. It rained so the ashtray by the bench was full of water.Within an hour or two it was all cleaned with new sand in it. Someone left a bottle of water by the entrance and when I came back down it was gone. It's little things like that that speak volumes about their management. It was a wonderful stay and their management team is on top of everything. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised. This property well exceeded any expectations we had going in. Their hard work and dedication in making their guests experience a memorable one was appreciated and didn't go unnoticed. We will see them on our next visit for sure.

As others have noted in their reviews, Ken and Jeff are constantly working to keep up this lovely family resort. It is clean and landscaped beautifully, and the rooms are just right! With a sitting area in our two bedroom, we enjoyed the recliner and couch as we watched movies in the evening. In our full kitchen, we stocked the refrigerator from the local Publix and made our breakfast and lunch, which we packed for the beach. Many guests chose to grill out as we saw when we would load up to go to a local restaurant for dinner, but we preferred eating out! On our first night at Hurricane Hanks restaurant down the road, we met up with a resident who offered us more ideas for restaurants for dinner. There's nothing like walking right out onto the beach to spend a morning watching the waves, seeing dolphins frolic, observing osprey catching their breakfast, and swimming in the water among schools of fish. Many of the guests knew each other from yearly vacations, and we have already made our reservation for next year! Anna Maria Island is quiet and family friendly. White Sands Resort offers shuffleboard and corn hole right next to the pool, but the best show is the sunset. On our first night, we were surprised to see how many lined the beach to see God's beauty, of course clapping at the end! Thank you to Ken, Jeff, Joy, and Esther for a wonderful stay. Most of the folks that go here come back year after year and I understand why. Nothing like a family owned business they were card and it shows. I will be back.

It was comfortable. My only complaint is the water pressure in the shower. My favorite feature is the manatee water fountain at the front of the property. Even if you choose to stay elsewhere, stop by to check out the fountain.

The sound traveled down the halls into the rooms because of all the tile - expect LOTS of noise. We had to call maintenance because our dresser drawers kept rolling out - they sent someone up to tape the drawers shut (classy!). This place is the quality of a Motel 6! They did not provide full service housekeeping - they only changed towels and did not straighten up or even make the beds. When I asked about this, they said they made this change recently because they lacked staff. But, the price did not change as a result. I argued that I was not informed of this on booking and since they removed this service after I booked the rooms they should charge less. The manager checked with the new owners who said they would not refund anything. Obviously they care less about customer service than making a profit. Sad. When you stay in a hotel, you should have your beds made (they don't have to change the linens, but at least make the beds). The breakfast - cold stuff, nothing special. The lady who oversaw this was very friendly though. This place is just dirty and outdated (even the so called "renovated" parts). The only good thing is it being conveniently located next to the charter boats for scalloping. I would not stay here again.
