We've stayed in other hotels that were highly rated and didn't come close to this hotel. They paled in comparison. The room was not dated or worn. The amenities were plenty, the breakfast was chock full of options and everything was so clean, the pool and the pool area was well kept as was the fitness room. The outside of the property was well maintained. Here's an example. It rained so the ashtray by the bench was full of water.Within an hour or two it was all cleaned with new sand in it. Someone left a bottle of water by the entrance and when I came back down it was gone. It's little things like that that speak volumes about their management. It was a wonderful stay and their management team is on top of everything. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised. This property well exceeded any expectations we had going in. Their hard work and dedication in making their guests experience a memorable one was appreciated and didn't go unnoticed. We will see them on our next visit for sure.

Also there seemed to be a lot of shady things going on there. A man, who was always wearing dark sunglasses, hanging out with the maid while she was cleaning rooms. Standing behind the front counter, wearing the glasses. I watched beat up cars pulling into the parking lot, being met out back by the same guy who hung around the facility. I moved over to Microtel and found professional staff and the facility much more safe and secure. Oh and by the way, the company ignored my complaint of their staff being on the job drunk.

As others have noted in their reviews, Ken and Jeff are constantly working to keep up this lovely family resort. It is clean and landscaped beautifully, and the rooms are just right! With a sitting area in our two bedroom, we enjoyed the recliner and couch as we watched movies in the evening. In our full kitchen, we stocked the refrigerator from the local Publix and made our breakfast and lunch, which we packed for the beach. Many guests chose to grill out as we saw when we would load up to go to a local restaurant for dinner, but we preferred eating out! On our first night at Hurricane Hanks restaurant down the road, we met up with a resident who offered us more ideas for restaurants for dinner. There's nothing like walking right out onto the beach to spend a morning watching the waves, seeing dolphins frolic, observing osprey catching their breakfast, and swimming in the water among schools of fish. Many of the guests knew each other from yearly vacations, and we have already made our reservation for next year! Anna Maria Island is quiet and family friendly. White Sands Resort offers shuffleboard and corn hole right next to the pool, but the best show is the sunset. On our first night, we were surprised to see how many lined the beach to see God's beauty, of course clapping at the end! Thank you to Ken, Jeff, Joy, and Esther for a wonderful stay. It's been a while since I stayed at a Hampton property, so when I booked this reservation, I was thinking I'd be welcomed back into that comfy, cushy, luxurious world of slumber. Sadly, the modern version that I got was NOTHING like the past version. The room felt dated, or outdated. The bed was decently comfortable, but nothing like those memories of mine. The pillows were even less. The toilet was VERY low. Like sitting in your toddler grandchild's teatime chair. And the bedframe legs are definite big 'toe stubber's. I hit my toes on the bed legs several times. That said, I got an okay night's sleep. And SLEEP is the ENTIRE reason for hotels. The number ONE deterrent from gaining a good night's sleep is usually the room air quality. Cold or hot. I had to set the air conditioning at 70 degrees to remain comfortable. It sure did not feel like 70 degrees. Believe me, there were no icicles hanging from the ceiling. The 3rd floor hallway just outside my door was quite warm, too. The second deterrent to a restful stay is noise. The room was quiet OTHER than the a/c. That machine was rather loud. The ON and OFF cycling of the a/c was distracting and sleep disturbing. I hate to sound picky, but for a review to be helpful, one must be honest. Overall, an ok stay but NOT Hampton perfect.

Another point is that I had to change rooms 3 times and still they all smelled horrible. This mold in the photos poses a huge health risk and needs to be fixed asap before allowing humans to stay in there and breathe this air. Bedsheets and towels filled with other people's hair that showed how unhygienic this place is. The pillows smelled like human body odor and it was impossible to be near them. I could not last here one day. Staff at the desk at least are nice and helpful. I can say I am always thankful to them. Overall, I don't recommend this place at all if you care about your health. This are other hotels in the area that are better options. There is no standard at this place and the company only cares to take their money, but not what happens to the people after they stay here.

It was comfortable. My only complaint is the water pressure in the shower. My favorite feature is the manatee water fountain at the front of the property. Even if you choose to stay elsewhere, stop by to check out the fountain.
