Hermitage Golf Course is absolutely beautiful! The course is well maintained, scenic, and fun to play. Staying on the property made the experience even better! Super convenient and relaxing. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great golf getaway!

I'm not the most well traveled golf tourist, but when I find a reasonably priced, well-maintained, public course out of state, I feel it's my duty to share my review. The golf course was in amazing condition with (despite the recent heat) soft greens and fairways, well manicured from tee box to green and a beautiful facility... Oh, and of course, sheep! We played the week following aeration, but the greens were still manageable and we received a $10 credit on our round which was reasonable.

My friends and I love golf, but we normally slum it and play a cheaper course, because simply put we're not that good. We stepped up our game and decided to play the Hermitage course and we're blown away by the greens here. The course is beautifully maintained and easy to navigate thanks to the digital map in our golf carts. I believe hole 9 was the nuttiest hole with it having a literal 90' right turn at the end of the fairway. I really enjoyed the shorter holes and the challenging water features. The golf carts here are plush and come with bluetooth speakers, easy course mapping and distance guides, plus a digital score card. The restaurant, Hickory Sticks Grill, overlooks hole 18 and offers a full bar and a loaded menu. Plenty of snacks, sandwiches, burgers, and breakfast served all day. Normally when we play the "cheaper" courses it's about $30 each not including the cart. For an extra $25 to play here, Hermitage is definitely worth it! We will be back, but maybe when it's not 100' outside.

See the BROWN grass? Looks good and you should not be hitting the ball there anyway.... but folks do. Just play it as a lateral hazard.

It has been several years since I have paid to play here. Have played in a few corporate events here. Those have been on the Presidents..... used to call it the new course, but it is not new anymore. Friday prices have damn near doubled, let's say in the last 5 years. $93..... Course is in great shape. Generals has taken a new look with the non-golf areas getting some 3 foot tall grass. Looks awesome, but no forgiveness. By non-golf, I mean between fairways, around greens, generally in slice and hook MISS areas.... :) Need to speed along play and just play it as LATERAL Hazard vs Lost Ball. Carts don't have coolers anymore, and the drink girls only made it around 2 times on the 1st 9. We had to call the club house on the 2nd 9 and by 7 holes the girl made it back to us. Would have bought more, but NO COOLERS and 90 degrees, even the ice bag did not make it 4 holes.

Played here a few days ago and needless to say, i wasn't impressed. For the amount they're charging people, I expected the course to be in better condition. Tee boxes overgrown with weeds and the fairway full of non repaired divots. As you can tell by the pictures, they don't have an ice chest or sand to fill in the divots I mentioned. This place is not worth the amount they're charging.

I went with my husband so he could hit some balls, which is the best deal for $18.00 and you hit as long as you want as long as there are balls available to fill your bucket. It has a chipping area as well as a putting area. It's a very nice facility. So after a couple of buckets, we grabbed a salad and drinks at the clubhouse. Now this is where I have to say was the best chicken salad salad at. I love chicken salad but often has grapes and not a fan. This had no fruit but was so delicious. I would definitely come back for this.

Pretty course, great sheep. A little pricey but worth it. We would go again when traveling to the Nashville area.

The cabins are very sleek, new, & clean. Bigger than you expect, both bedrooms & bathrooms are massive & again, clean. Loved our stay.

Speaking to that woman Laura made me wish I was instead dealing with the Department of Motor Vehicles. She couldn't have been more disrespectful if she was headlining a Roast. Not only was her attitude a perpetual black cloud hovering over the reception, but her total lack of understanding of the activities that take place at a typical wedding left her to cluelessly complain about the audacity of the patrons to drink, dance, and celebrate while at (of all places) a wedding. I know, I know... how outrageous of us. So if you do decide to choose this as a venue for an upcoming event, know that going in. It would probably be in your best interests to request that Laura be given the night off. It speaks to the level of this woman's mismanagement that her mere presence on the site is enough to overshadow the beauty of the venue itself. Laura, please let me know if you feel I am at all incorrect, I'd be happy to expand on any point in question. Best wishes.

When we…read morearrived, we walked around knocking at all the locked doors with no answer. 20 minutes later, the caretaker opens up the door and tells us she heard the alarm go on but didn't open the door- even though we were booked months ahead and she should have been expecting us that day. She gave us free reign of the place for the two hours. Although it is beautiful, there were venue tables all over the bottom level, holiday decorations scattered all over the furniture, and it was filthy. Of course, we needed to move furniture and items around to make room for great shots. We have shot at many mansions before and usually in the contract it states either we can move stuff around but return it to it's rightful place or an employee follows us around and does all the item moving. There was nothing in the contract and when we were finally finished, the caretaker came up and freaked out that we had moved stuff. She said she didn't know that we were going to do that. One of the items we had to move was a Christmas tree which broke in half and accidentally knocked over a vase on the toilet. When we apologized and said that it broke because we had to move the holiday decorations (not because we just picked it up and decided to break it), the caretaker says, so 'it's my fault' and just slammed the door. If you are holding a venue here or any other event, I suggest that you look elsewhere as the whole experience and price is not worth it.

Imagine coming to a friendly strangers house and watching friendly strangers perform a play for you in their living room. That's the Lakewood Theater experience. The better half and I saw 39 Steps, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. The players do a wonderful job of telling a story with a bare minimum of props and some pretty decent acting. If you are looking for a Broadway experience, you'll probably be disappointed but if you are looking for some fun in an intimate setting I highly recommend it.

STILL SCRATCHING MY HEAD!…read more Let's be honest, Lakewood Theatre is a very small, very old, slightly neglected theater. HOWEVER, this little theatre really delivered when it came to their recent production of A Christmas Carol. My husband and I were simply bewildered by the talent here as it is a very small town and this venue does not exactly scream: Talent resides here! According to one audience member, the theatre has been around for approximately 30 years but the building is quiet a bit older and this is most evident with the seats. The wooden seats are super narrow and somewhat uncomfortable for those that are fluffier than most. They appear to be at least fifty years old. The production was very professional as was the cast. My husband and I both agreed that this group of talented actors and actresses deserve a larger and much nicer space. Regardless of the venue, the play did not suffer one bit. We enjoyed every aspect of it including the singing and instrumental performances. This play was perfect for the entire family and proudly represented the spirit of Christmas. Lakewood is a great little theatre and worth checking out if you are looking for great plays and performances.
