Second hole on a cloudy fall day

Can't endorse unless this place is in walking distanced where you live - you're better off elsewhere regardless of skill level. Too many holes with blind tee shots, severe downhill to uphill slopes and a clubhouse that's as welcoming as an outdated Staten Island White Castle. Winter greens aren't much worse than the standard greens. Also no warmup (let alone driving range) areas. One star as it's better than no Course at all, I guess. Another star for the guy who receives your cart at the clubhouse though, because he always asks how the round was and if you had fun.

Great place for a morning 9 with the boys....

Great spot for cheap and challenging golf. The service is always friendly and prompt. The 17th hole is very long and challenging.i have been coming here since 1997 and have seen a vast improvement. The club has been a institution since 1924....

This is a public course that is kept pretty nice. The surrounding area is older and you drive through a not well kept neighborhood to get there, but the greens were hilly and nice. I enjoyed it because it wasn't crowded and I didn't feel rushed at all. There was no beer cart or anything but you could go inside and order drinks if you wanted. The signs around state that the pace was really strict but I never saw a ranger anywhere. I am still beginning and am kind of slow so I only played every other hole but and it was a pretty difficult course for me. Most of my balls landed on a hill and I haven't really mastered the art of standing or swinging yet. Prices weren't bad, they didn't open up until 8am on a Monday so we couldn't start as early as I wanted to for the day but luckily the course wasn't busy and we could play as fast or as slow as we wanted.

Looking "up" 18th fairway on the left with 10th fairway coming down on the right.

I really don't like this city owned course. It's all hills and valleys. If you like elevation changes then this is the course for you.

McCabe is way better. The greens were like a 80 year old rug that has spent the last 30 years in the desert.

You don't have to be good, you don't even need to know how to count, it's all done for you! It is just a great activity. Getting drink service while playing can be challenging during peak times. The food is bar food but on the better side of that. By now we must have visited at least a dozen times and I have never heard anyone in my groups having any complaints. I love to come here and I will be back soon again!

I would say that I really liked it. It took about 30ish minutes to complete. We didn't get food or drinks because we planned on getting them at our next stop. While this place was lovely and fun, I didn't not like how it started for a hot sec. Originally, I purchased a Groupon for their 9 hole experience which was $27. I got my code and put it in the website. However, the website wouldn't accept it. So when I went to call the restaurant to see how to correct the issue, there was no answer for 5 calls and an left voicemail. So I decided to purchase another 9 hole experience on their website. Which meant I paid $61 to play this game. But Groupon will refund me.

The greens? So smooth you'll want to roll a picnic blanket out and call it a day. Honestly, if your ball doesn't roll true here, that's on you, champ. The layout is fun, challenging, and just scenic enough to make you forget how many balls you've donated to the water hazards. It's the rare course where you'll finish 18 holes and think, "Yeah, I could do that again," even if your scorecard looks like a math problem gone wrong. Bottom line: Hermitage is a Nashville gem. Great condition, great vibes, and just enough beauty to distract you from your questionable swing mechanics.
