Was in Nashville and this course was recommended by a local. He played with me and was embarrassed with the suggestion because of the greens. The course looks great but no way this place should be charging $70+ to play these greens. Feel bad leaving a negative review because I can see the potential and why people love the course. No idea what has happened to the greens but I am not exaggerating when I say 50% of EVERY green has no grass. They are soft and unreadable, but they have disguised it by painting them green. It's fine if you want to keep the course open through the green rehab but put something on your website and discount the fees. Would love to play it on tip top shape but I don't see that happening soon, suggest you ask. read more

Fairways and tee boxes are fine but the greens are in terrible condition. I don't know what happened but it can't be from lack of water.

Place is consistently ranked one of the best in the state. Super fun layout, well maintained fairways and greens. Good pro shop with fast responsive staff. We'd prepaid so it was a simple fast check in. Our group had a blast and will be back for sure. Seems like a track that a little local knowledge would be great on. Very neat to see some of the rock features poking through on signature holes, also I was (unfortunately) impressed with the quality of the sand in the bunkers. Look forward to playing again, very well worth the rate we paid. No contact from folks on our pace of play like the former review. read more

I haven't played here in a couple years because of the drive for me (1hr 10min.) I Just held a weekend guys golf outing and talked this course up. After the first 3 holes I felt like a jerk because of the greens! played today 08-22-25 was told there were 3 greens under repair but I think what was meant to be said there were about three that were descent. I have played this course several times and this is the worst I have seen it. We held a company golf outing with 6 foursomes at Greystone. Bobby was great to work with prior to the event and made all of us feel welcome when we showed up. We had some slower golfers and the crew made sure we stayed on pace. Food and drinks at the turn were served quickly. Course was wet due to several days of rain prior but was in good shape. Lots of elevation changes and no houses along the fairways. read more

Once again I give this course a chance to make improvements of the maintenance of this course, and again terribly disappointed. First, the course is nice and tough but it's so hard to look past and enjoy the course due to maintenance issue. Like someone else said, the course restrooms are absolutely nasty! Stains, toilet paper roll on the nasty floor that looks like it's never swept out. Trash over flowing, and no water on the course, ball washers empty...come on Greystone...do better!! read more

We hosted a rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding weekend March 14th. Mindy Thomas was so flexible, responsive and easy to work with during the months leading up to the event. This was a destination wedding event so we were planning everything from Oklahoma. Guests and family were coming from coast to coast. She put my mind at ease every time we discussed the details and answered all of my questions. The food was amazing, the venue was beautiful with an amazing view overlooking the awesome golf course. It was perfect! Our story doesn't end. The next day, one hour before the wedding was to begin, the wedding venue told us we had to vacate the premises because roads were flooding all around the property and it was not safe and we wouldn't be able to get out. The venue was trying to find us another location quickly but we had to pack up and leave due to the flash floods. Being from out of state, the only person I knew to call was Mindy Thomas at Greystone. She was at her home and still answered her cell phone. After explaining our awful predicament, Mindy said I'll meet you at the golf club and we will see what we can put together. Long, long story short, with all hands on deck and coordination of the very helpful wedding planner from the original venue and so accommodating and caring Mindy Thomas at Greystone, in less than 2 hours, everything was packed up and moved to Greystone, where again all hands on deck, including our guests set up a beautiful wedding/reception all in one. It was an amazing thing to see and my son and daughter-in-law were able to start their "Happily Ever After" and Mindy and her staff literally "SAVED THE DAY"! I don't think you can go any more above and beyond than what we experienced! There are not any words descriptive enough to express our thanks in making sure the happiest day of my son and daughter-in-law still happened! read more

While it's a beautiful place it's not well equipped. Golf carts are nice with programmed gps but slow to update the location of carts ahead of you in the blind spots which are plentiful. Ball washes are empty or broken. The ladies restroom was filthy. No feminine products. Such a beautiful course to lack the necessities. read more

If you're wondering if this is worth the drive* from Nashville, the answer is most certainly yes. The high ratings from GolfAdvisor (#1 in TN as of Feb 2018) are well deserved because of the layout, scenery and conditions. The course is less than 6,900 yards in length from the tips so it's a manageable distance when you play the appropriate tee box. There's plenty of variety in hole designs as you'll see different elevation changes, fairway size and occasionally a water hazard in play. The setting is unique as well since it sits in a former rock quarry. Maintenance team should be commended for their year round work as conditions were good in both winter (40 degrees, raining) and summer (80's, sunny). Greens roll true, aren't overly complicated but definitely can be challenging. Folks need to fix their divot marks though. 19th hole is decent enough with a bar, tables and couches inside. Worth the drive* and highly recommend. * Driving Note : Apple Maps, as of March 2018, was misleading in that it had me turn left at the end of Highway 96. That's not correct - you need to go right at the end of 96 and the course entrance appears soon on your left. Looks like Google Maps doesn't have this issue. read more

There are no better fairways in the heat of summer than zoysia. This is a good golf course with plenty of challenge from all tees. It gets lots of play and the bent grass greens show it. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone fixed a ball mark? The greenside bunkers need some work - they are compacted - but an enjoyable round of golf. read more

By far one of the worst courses I have played in my life. If you're not shooting even, the staff will come out and tell you, you're taking too long. This course is too expensive to waste your money on, the staff is rude and inconsiderate and they have no clue how to run competitive ball golf. In town for Thanksgiving and decided to play Greystone while visiting relatives in Dickson. I used to live in Dickson and remember when the course was constructed. Great track and for winter in very good condition. I now live in Scottsdale and Greystone's greens rival some of the best I play in AZ. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. May be Tennessee hospitality, but I think they were extra friendly. When I mentioned my AZ blood was a little thin for the cold temps, the manager on duty found me a pullover in the closet for me! Great customer service and hospitality! Course was in good shape and played fairly quick for a holiday weekend. Wolcott has done a nice job maintaining this little gem. If you haven't played it, it's worth the drive. read more

This is a magnificent, public golf course with a beautiful design and superb care. Their Zoysia fairways and Bent grass greens are the ultimate in golf surfaces and they maintain them beautifully, even in this exceptionally hot weather. The staff is also exceptional in their customer treatment. If you haven't played Greystone, you are missing a great treat. read more

Played my first round here September 2019. Conditions were perfect. Greens were in great shape, however I was disappointed that on every green I was repairing other careless golfers' ball marks. Layout and scenery is something to behold, I don't believe there is anything quite like it in TN or KY. Course is fairly difficult, especially first time out. The food is great at the clubhouse, the green fees are almost unbelievable for quality of golf here. Will play again and recommend to all my friends for sure. read more

This is a gem of a couse . The views on the back 9 and from the clubhouse are great . Greens are bent and fast . Guys in clubhouse have always been friendly and helpful . The snack bar at the turn has burgers , dogs , tky sandwiches and a few other items , good for quick bite. Some holes are tight and require accuracy . This course has a challenging layout , esp the back 9 . Golfnow offers 18 holes w cart n range balls at times for xx cheap and it is a deal for such a nice course . I only give 4 stars bcz of the xx slow play we encountered behind a rotary tourney . Marshall needed to push a couple groups that were backing up the entire course to nearly 6 hr 18 hole time . Its great! I recommend ! Try it if your in area or have the time to drive 40 min from Nashville west on i-40. read more
