Iced Vanilla Latte with Oat Milk + Morning Roll
    Christina G.

Herkimer Coffee offers a consistently satisfying experience. I usually get the Iced Vanilla Latte with Oat Milk. The coffee is bold, smooth, and has a nice depth, reflecting its freshness and high quality. Plus, the prices are fair and on the cheaper end without sacrificing quality. I also like their breakfast roll, which is flaky and soft inside with a vanilla sugar topping. This place is always busy when I visit, and the baristas are consistently nice and helpful. While the seats fill up quickly and it's slightly loud from all the chatter, the fast-paced environment is great for getting work done with headphones in. The space is slightly small, but the cozy vibes make it inviting. I've been recommended this place by several people before becoming a frequent visitor myself.

The service was great! The latte was kinda meh though unfortunately. It tasted a bit like when there's too much espresso or when it's perhaps burnt or overused espresso. Either way I wasn't a huge fan of the flavor of the latte itself and thus couldn't taste the lavender. The ambiance seemed cute but every chair was full 30 minutes before closing. I took mine to go anyways but I'd probably not get a latte again.

I ordered two vanilla lattes- an oat-milk one for my friend and a regular milk for myself. They maintain and clean their equipment really well since I'm severely allergic to oat-milk and I had no reaction. The latte itself was better than I expected and made this place one of my favorite coffee shops in Seattle so far. I prefer more espresso to milk in my lattes so that I can actually taste my coffee; although the more espresso part was not there, the coffee notes were discernible (which was a great surprise!). I could also taste the vanilla separately from the coffee notes too which is rare for most lattes. My only downside was that my coffee wasn't piping hot, but that won't stop me from coming back in the future! Summary: good drinks and vibes, but if you love coffee then this is esp your place :)

A small coffee shop. Friendly staff and tasty coffee. I prefer the Latte here. Another important thing is they open the air conditioner to a comfortable temperature!

Pesto cheese bread, cinnamon roll, latte, mocha

Latte and mocha were great. I would get those again, but not the food. The pastries were disappointing. Cinnamon roll was dry and lacked spice. Cream cheese was ok. The pesto cheese bread was also dry, although the pesto itself was tasty.

This place is simple and mainly serves to provide convenience so that you don't have to venture to the cafeteria on the 1st floor... or worse yet, the vending machines. This place also stays open much much later (4:00 am, every day) than the the cafeteria and the gift shop (which also sells some snacks and coffee)--- see the pic I posted for the updated hours since what was originally reported was way off. Due to that convenience, it also tends to have a line during the morning and early afternoon hours, and every time I've walked by. There is no seating area since it's a small shop but the UWMC has tables and chairs outside; just past the Cascade elevators. Today I stopped by at around 5:00 pm and luckily there was only one person in front of me. I bought a Smokey Chicken Bacon Melt (pre-packaged). It was very tasty and probably would've been even better if I toasted it, or at least heated it up. But I was too lazy. Although it was delicious, the size was certainly not worth about $7.50 (includes tax). Probably would only stop by here again if I actually want a coffee or don't have the time to go to the cafeteria for food.

If we order from Door Dash, the fees are extreme and you are paying 50% more than necessary. Stop being so cheap and pay someone overtime to work nights.

But honestly? The energy worked. The staff was moving with that calm, unbothered flow only seasoned baristas have. Friendly, attentive, and somehow keeping the line moving without making anyone feel rushed. Respect. Light was flooding every corner; that soft Seattle glow that makes you want to pull out your journal and pretend you live inside a cozy indie film. Ventilation was perfect. Temperature was perfect. Seating options? Abundant. And not the awkward wobbly kind either. This spot is built for lingering. I grabbed a latte, sat down, and immediately fell into an art journaling trance. There's something about being surrounded by curated shelves of books and cute little treasures that just unlocks your brain. It's the kind of place where you look up after ten minutes and somehow an hour passed. This was my first visit, but it's already on my list of "places I'll actually come back to and get work done." A rare category, honestly. If you're looking for a café that feels like a creative reset button; this is a great one.
