If I could give it 6 stars I would!! Had a last-minute plan for my best friend's birthday, and we ended up at Heritage and honestly, it turned out amazing! Jennifer, our server, was awesome, super friendly and knew her stuff. We got a mix of items from both the happy hour menu and full-price options, and everything was delicious. The patio seating was perfect, too, and really made the whole experience feel even better. Definitely coming back next time we're looking for a great time and good food! read more

What a great find, thanks to Yelp! In the area from Florida for work, and wanted to experience a local spot - so glad I found Heritage. Elvin was a great server - helpful, friendly, and impeccable timing with everything. Sawyer kept my water filled and offered service with a smile. From the start witt the sea-salted butter and warm roll, I knew I was in for a treat. The French Onion soup was the best I've ever had...perfectly seasoned broth with a rich, meaty base, slightly sweet caramelized onions, and a crouton with the tiniest bit of crunch still there, and the cheese balanced it all out. Highly recommend! The Wagyu Hangar steak was perfect mid rare, served with bone marrow and nicely seasoned - it melted in my mouth. The Potatoes Dauphinois were slightly firm, and the cream and cheese complemented the richness of the steak. I had to get half of it to take home, and know it will be even better tomorrow. I'm so sorry to see this restaurant is closing. My family enjoyed an awesome experience at Heritage Steak and Whiskey. The ambiance was quite peaceful and lovely. We enjoyed deliciously prepared crab cakes, French onion soup, scallops, sole, steak fries, a Delmonico steak with horseradish cream sauce, asparagus, the hash brown and linguine and clams. My mom was turning 75 and was gifted a strawberry Red Velvet cheesecake that was so delightful. The service from Jason was great! He was professional, yet personable. He was very attentive and truly wanted us to enjoy the dining experience. Kudos to the bartender. The pear martini and mixed drinks were excellent. This restaurant will be missed! This was my 2nd visit to Heritage Steak and Whiskey, both visits were memorable. This visit, my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary. We were warmly greeted upon entering, and immediately seated, based on our reservation. The seating was perfect, nice and cozy half circle bench, vs small 2 seater table. Immediately after being seated, our water glasses were filled and we received 1 roll, each. The roll distribution on both visits, was a bit on the conservative side. 1 small roll each, brought out in a huge basket, before placing on our bread plates. I would have loved 4 WARM rolls, presented (covered) in an appropriate sized basket, and left on the table. Our server Jason, approached and proceeded to take our drink order, giving us some time to review the menu. We started with shrimp cocktail and the Heritage salad. The shrimp cocktail was presented on ice, 4 jumbo shrimp, perfectly cooked, and chilled, with a side of cocktail sauce. The salad was nicely presented, and perfect combination, of salty, slightly sweet, and dressed accordingly. For entrees, my husband ordered the prime rib cheeses teak sandwich, which arrived with steak fries and a homemade pickled veggie medley. I ordered the scallop tagliatelle, upon recommendation by our server. It was an excellent suggestion. Perfectly cooked tagliatelle pasta, in a perfectly seasoned red pepper sauce, topped with pan seared scallops accompanied by a serving of broccoli rabe, delicious! We then ended our meal, with sticky toffee pudding and a scoop of Vanilla Ice cream, which was also at the recommendation of our server. The dessert was delightful. The sticky toffee pudding was more of a cake, served warm, drizzled with caramel sauce. The perfect combination to end our meal. All in all this was a great way to celebrate our anniversary. Our server Jason, was attentive, professional and took really good care of us. The restaurant also commemorated the occasion with a complimentary photo, nice touch, we'll be back! read more

Ever since XO closed, I've been looking for a good steakhouse on Cleveland's east side. Well, I think I have officially found it. Heritage Steak and Whiskey was absolutely amazing. To begin, the restaurant is located in Eaton Plaza which has ample parking! The decor and ambiance in side is gorgeous and offers a great intimate vibe. My husband and I went for my birthday. When we were seated at our table, the hostess came over and took a picture of us. A few minutes later she returned with a beautiful birthday card inclusive of our picture. We enjoyed the wagyu strip steak and the Philly cheesesteak. The bone marrow butter that came with the steak was INCREDIBLE and enhanced the already flavorful steak. My husband's cheesesteak was surprisingly really good and we learned that it's a very popular item. We ended the night the chocolate mousse cake with a raspberry sauce which was also delicious. Disappointed. My husband and I were so excited to try a new spot in town! What a disappointment! We often dine at Capital Grille, Blue Point Grille and Cleveland Chop etc. Id recommend all of those over this experience. We went the weekend before Christmas and they were out of the one liquore mixer for the Negroni Blanc I ordered off their drink menu. I had to ask the server to please think of a substitute (shouldn't be difficult and she seemed annoyed I even asked) Also they were out of two of the appetizers we ordered as well as the dessert we ordered. Our server brought me the wrong salad and overall the dinner just fell super short on flavor and expectations. The final kicker was our server told us she would box up our leftovers and leave them at the hostess stand. When we went to pick them up they were no where to be found and the hostess asked us how who server was and looked at her and said, "oh yeah she doesn't have them" without even walking over and asking. For a $400 dinner I just would have expected more. Unfortunately, I do not see us returning or recommending to others. read more

Food was great and the hashbrown is a must get side. Bar drinks are another story, ordered an extra dirty martini and when it came to the table it was crystal clear no olive juice used at all. When I mentioned it to the server she went to the bar and came back with a glass of olive juice at which point I had to mix my own martini at the table. I had the salmon and my husband had the demonic steak. We also got the side of cauliflower. We did not need the side and each of us only ate about a quarter of our entrees we were so full. My wife and I eat out frequently. I don't believe I have ever left a negative review of a restaurant. If I have a bad experience, my approach is usually "things happen." I can only think of one other time I felt this poorly after leaving a restaurant. I don't know what a one-star review looks like or what would prompt me to write one. Maybe if the place caught on fire while I was in there, or if I found an old boot in my salad. None of that happened, so two stars. Firstly, despite mentioning a birthday in my reservation, there was no acknowledgment by the staff. I honestly forgot about it until after we left and I started piecing together everything that went wrong. Things happen. I love whiskey and steak, which is why I chose this place for my 50th birthday dinner. I ordered a bourbon flight from the front page of their very deep whiskey menu. The server returned to inform me they were out of everything in the flight. This was a letdown, but being a whiskey guy, I know "things happen," so I ordered something else, which they did have. It's a printed-out paper menu; draw a line through it or put a sticker on it. Even the Winking Lizard has figured out that trick. Things happen. Our server did not inform us of any specials, which again, I really didn't think about until I was rehashing the experience. I knew which steak I was going to order anyway. We did notice that while everyone around us received bread, we did not. Things happen. The server probably noticed I'm overweight and figured I didn't need the bread, which I don't. Things happen We ordered two Caesar salads, a cap steak medium rare, bone-in prime ribeye medium, and a side of mashed potatoes. The Caesars were insanely good, maybe the best I've ever had. The flavor of the steaks was very good. High-quality cuts of meat. The medium rare came out very rare, while the medium was medium rare. The cap steak looked like they dropped it on the fire for about 10 seconds. The steaks were delivered by an Amazon driver, I think, in a hurry to get to his next stop. No one checked to see if everything was "okay." Things happen. The one thing that should be correct at a steak place with the word "steak" in the name is the temperature. We flagged down a random person and asked for our server, requesting that the steak be cooked to medium rare. Five minutes later, the steak was plopped on our table and the person left. Same Amazon driver. No "let me know if that is okay," which it wasn't. Three-quarters of it was medium well, and the last quarter was still rare. She ate it, things happen Lastly, this is more on me. While I was engaged in conversation with my wife, the manager leaned in front of me and interrupted the conversation to remove the unused bread plates. As he walked away, I got more and more agitated. I asked the server to have the manager come over. The manager/owner (different guy) came over and I proceeded to complain about the other manager interrupting my conversation. I am sure I looked like a complete idiot. I was complaining about something that happens at every restaurant, every night, and not about all of the things that really mattered. He apologized and we left. Things happen. The bill was $360 for two people with tip. I understand that things happen. Too many things happened. I don't want to complain, and I don't want the manager to make it right and I don't want to write this redicuolus review. I just want a good experience. I get one 50th birthday dinner and I chose to spend it at Heritage Steak and Whiskey. I want to have my steak prepared correctly and have a good conversation with my wife. That's really it. It's difficult to have a good conversation when I am thinking "why am I not getting bread," "where is the server so I can send this steak back," "this isn't the drink I ordered," "why did this guy just stick his entire body between her and me." A high-end restaurant is about the experience, and I got the pleasure of paying for a bad one. read more

The restaurant has a bar/happy hour area and then a more dining area. This is a more formal restaurant with expected pricy menu. We enjoyed our food! The steak was cooked to our preference and was flavorful. The french onion soup was a little too salty for my liking. The hashbrown was notable for a crunchy outside and a soft creamy inside. Hidden gem. We were tired of the old staples for a celebration in town-I wanted something new + exciting + special . Boy, did I pick the right spot in Heritage. The room is exquisite-well decorated-perfect lighting. From the time we walked in we all were treated like royalty by the stellar staff. Our Server "Sam" was able to coach us -educate us and provide us a phenomenal experience. She was very impressive. As far as the food goes-EVERYTHING was exceptional-we had a party of 8-and all were happy-whether they were meat eaters or vegetarians. Brought my significant other here for her birthday. We sat for quite awhile between refills of both water and drinks. We were not given bread, and while waiting for out entrees had the privilege of fighting off fruit flies. Our entrees came, one at room temp, one correct. Poor service continues, we get our check. I tipped $40 on around $200, stand to leave. My girlfriend and I get to the exit door, and the bartender (who never saw our table or helped us in any way) loudly yells at us asking if we needed a box, as we were making out way out of the door. We both found it incredibly disrespectful, that coupled with the poor service, insects, and mediocre food out advice would strongly be to spend your money and time elsewhere, as this place just isn't worth it. read more

However, two of the three entrees we ordered were not as stated, and it probably would have been corrected had he made a big deal out it, but that has proven to be not a wise decision in the past, so two of us left still hungry with a check over $300. Our waitress was above average pleasant and professional. She offered a choice of sparkling water or ice water. I chose the sparkling water because complementarily this is a nice option. I won't drink tapwater. We ordered a glass of French wine, which was priced nicely. We ordered the meatballs with sauce and cheese. The sauce was full-bodied and not watered down. The meatballs tasted handmade. The cheese was graded and not imitation, powdered cheese. They paired our meatballs with two crusty, seasoned, plain, no imitation oil, French-like bread slices. The ambience was as expected, but because we sat in the lounge, a work group of 10 was seated near us and we're very loud, so we had to shorten our stay as a result. The steak was completely unseasoned, and the prime rib was overpowered by an absurd amount of thyme--it was practically inedible. Web site not accurate. This IS a classic stuffy old school steak house. Which I love. Service is very good. Waiter newish but eager and well trained. Floor manager visible and engaged. Food expediter, visible and a fixed figure in the kitchen. Refreshing. One steak out of six not cooked to order. Disappointing that they took it back and cooked it further and brought it back. At this price point I expect a new steak and apology and no charge on that steak. This is standard at this level of service and at a steakhouse and at this price point. If a steakhouse cannot cook a steak correctly, then it needs to be corrected, apologized for and comped. Anything less is insulting at this price point. That being said the steaks were excellent. The sides were not. Steak fries excellent. Mashed potatoes mediocre. Mac & cheese OK. Manhattan served in a Portland wine glass. Wow. Their signature Manhattan is made with a Canadian whiskey. What the hell? Promising. Also mentioned in my OpenTable Reservation anniversary, but had to mention it to the waiter who compensated quickly cheers for that. Paid for the dessert, but I was not expecting anything really. Again would've been nice at this price point to have a cheap dessert with a candle in it as no one really wanted dessert but I thought as an anniversary for my in-laws I wanted them to have a remembrance of it with something special. Overall better experience than I've had at Morton's and Capital Grille recently. They have room to grow but well enjoyed. Valet would be a plus. They are well staffed. Wait staff is well trained even though some are green. I actually saw a customer hug their waiter. The service is refreshing post Covid. Manager did come over to confirm. Fire on steak was cooked appropriately and I did not want to bring up my concern and disappointment and having the same steak put back on as it is never the same as a freshly cooked steak.
