German cockroach crawling from the ceiling down to the molding in the main dining room.

Two stars for ambiance and the sommelier was very attentive. Dinner was good until I saw something crawling down the wall onto the molding behind our table. It was only 10:20pm. One may think it's just one roach- big deal; but let's be honest if there is a roach in the dining room of a "fine dining restaurant" there are definitely 1,000 more you don't see. Alarmed, we called to the manager on staff. Unfortunately the only manager available was the bar manager (who we already had poor experience from at the Kentucky derby party). His response: "Well what do you want me to do about it!" They should have comped the entire bill. Instead they only took $70 off. Not too smart. Our next call is the health department. This restaurant has been reduced to a bougie facade no different than most options downtown. Come here at your own risk.

I will admit I was worried eating here with all the poor reviews, but I will say everything from the food to service far surpassed my expectations. The seafood tower was plentiful and duck dumplings delicious. All entrees from gnocchi to salmon to steaks were delicious and well seasoned. This restaurant has definitely turned around and revamped. I highly suggest!

Service was good, but the food kinda fell of. I remember the buffets being AMAZING 2 years ago, but now it's mid. The food was cold considering it came fresh from the kitchen. The food selection is limited as well. Omelets were great though ‍. Food definitely needs to get better before I consider going back.

My friends and I had brunch here. We were a large group of 7, so I made the reservation the week prior. SERVICE From the reservationist to the server, the staff was very attentive and courteous. Our server was Colleen. She was very polite and helpful. Her and busboys brought our drinks as soon as bwe returned with our first plate of food. How attentive! The food station attendants were polite and were focused on their work. ATMOSPHERE the restaurant was very clean, including restroom, bar, and outdoor seating. Outdoor tables has an umbrellas that cover about half of the table. When we were there, it was about 85 degrees. I think any hotter and we would have requested an indoor table. The dining areas overlook the golf course, and flowers are sprinkled throughout the property. It is quite a sight while enjoying mimosa. FOOD The food was absolutely delicious. I had omelette, zucchini salad, roasted potatoes, and some pastries and a glass of grapefruit juice. Everything was excellently prepared! That I didn't feel bloated after the big meal. They offer almost everything you may want for lunch, breakfast, or a bit of both.

Occasionally, I find a place so appealing, I consider not posting a review. I don't want anyone else knowing about "my" hidden gem for fear of others crowding my space. Fortunately, for you Yelpers, I'm a stand-up guy who feels a responsibility to share and spread happiness all around the world. Prime is one such hidden gem. Because it's housed at a golf course, a lot of folks don't even consider it as a true dining option. It can go unnoticed in light of the many other good restaurants in and around Saratoga. Prime itself is pretty much as expected. Good food at a premium price. It's going to be about $100 pp here. Probably more than a lot of folks are going to want to spend. But here's the thing: you don't even have to eat here. You can just come grab some drinks and relax in front of the terrific and relaxing view. There's a fountain and lounge chairs overlooking the course. I've come here just to kill an hour or two on my way to another restaurant for dinner. Or come for a couple drinks after a day at the race track. I've found the service fantastic, too! Long story short: I love this place.

This was an amazing restaurant with a wonderful ambience. At first we weren't sure we were at the right address, but when we walked in we knew we were going to have a wonderful time. We started off with the seafood chowder which they split into two bowls for us and the lobster cocktail. Then we each got a filet and shared the delicious truffle Parmesan fries and cream spinach. The waitress we had went above and beyond to make your evening wonderful and even put a little candle in our desserts when she found out we were celebrating our sixth anniversary.

Bread is from a local bakery and worth ordering. The hamburger comes highly recommended but I tried the pasta special which was excellent. My wife love her halibut but my daughter who is vegan didn't love her cauliflower entree. The hazelnut tart was exceptional. The restaurant is cozy and has a good ambiance. Reservations are a must unless you want to see if there is room at the bar. We plan to return at future trips to Saratoga.

I requested to sit at the chef's table because I really do like to see what's going on in the kitchen and our reservation is at 7:15 and we arrived a half hour early and we're able to be sat so that was nice. We were greeted by one of the servers in the restaurant and then shortly after another came by and asked if we wanted still or sparkling water and that our server would be there with us in a second. It took a little bit longer for our server to come by and he took our drink orders. The line chef started to realize that our server was taking quite a while so we asked us what he wanted him to start so that he can relay it to our server when he got around to us, and I thought that was very nice and great that he recognized that we were waiting for quite a while. Our server finally came back with our drinks and asked what we wanted to get started and we told him that they already started our appetizers. He also didn't come back for quite a while after that and he finally asked us what we wanted for dinner and he didn't ask how the food was or anything. He just said OK cool and put in our food order. When we got our actual entrée, I had the New York strip steak and my husband had the scallops and they were very good. We ordered those entrées because the line chef said they were good and we wouldn't be disappointed and we were not. Our server finally came back around after everyone else buster plates and asked if we wanted anything for dessert and we already made up our mind what we wanted. I ordered the coconut rice pudding and my husband ordered the pistachio cheesecake. Both of those were also very good highly recommend them if you have room at the end of your meal. Our server then came back with our bill and just randomly said he took off one of our desserts because of the weight which was nice but he didn't really acknowledge anything else. We thought it was very odd but also we were happy about that. This restaurant was very good and I think the staff is very in tuned to what's going on in the restaurant if something is not as it should and they communicate to others if they need to start food for people or accommodate other people's needs so that's the only reason that I'm giving it a 4 because the server we had wasn't great but the food and everything else was awesome.

What a gem. What a vibe. WHAT a cocktail menu…read more Tucked away, totally unpretentious, but with a STAGGERING, almost-unbelievable range of martinis and martini-adjacent cocktails in this fall/winter-perfect, cozy, mostly-paneled speakeasy that's also evocative of a semi-secret lobby bar of an old hotel (it's not though!) Even the music selections made it sound like prohibition era jazz standards were drifting in from another room. It manages to be simultaneously totally old school and totally hip, fancy-feeling and swanky, but also with the ease of a local watering hole... no easy feat. From t-shirts to suits, locals to newbies, it has a totally come-as-you-are, everybody's-welcome atmosphere. Even the locals made us feel at home, giving us great insight into several restaurants all less than a block or two away. Wines and beers also available, but mixology is the main act here. We were there over two separate bartender shifts, both times on a quiet Sunday late-afternoon into evening, but both gents have it all down to a science without forsaking the art of crafting a cocktail. They pushed my formerly-favorite Manhattan (at NYC's King Cole Bar, there, as much for the environs as the drink) squarely out of the top spot, and as I told our bartender after I spied a semi-hidden bottle of Chartreuse and he offered to make an off-the-menu Last Word, it was the first time I fully understood that drink. That hard-to-find liquid green-gold is in VERY good hands at 9 Maple! Perfect for date night, but also welcoming to the lone visitor in search of a PERFECTLY crafted, amply -poured cocktail. Eat before you arrive, or pop back after dinner for a nightcap. Although we were there for off-season, an outdoor courtyard hints at higher traffic when the weather's warmer and the horses are racing. And even off-season, Jazz band nights attract a crowd. This place should really be on more national Top Cocktail Bars lists. It's that good.

Finally had a chance to try Kindred last week(end)…read more I was honestly won over when we first walked in....we didn't have a reservation but asked if they could accommodate two for dinner. The hostess/server was awesome: not pretentious and looking down her nose at us since we didn't have a reservation. She did say that she needed the table by 7 PM. No problem! That said, it was pretty busy for being early in the evening. Guests kept coming in as we were getting ready to depart. The food that we tried was very good: -the chips with crème fraîche were very nice, but I don't know that I would go out of my way for these again. I really enjoyed the chips themselves... very thin and light ...and quite salty (in a good way). A little bit of fish roe is mixed in for "extra saltiness" and a little bit of a fishy experience in the crème fraîche. -Brussel sprouts for me were the winner! Absolutely delicious and we added some chicken so that we'd have a little bit of protein. Grilled chicken was perfectly flavored and not dry at all. Brussels sprouts had just the right amount of char and umami. -flatbread was honestly my least favorite. We stuck with the basic burrata/Margherita pizza/flatbread, and after eating the brussels sprouts it just didn't hold up in terms of flavor. Some of the other options might be better if you're looking for more of a flavor punch.... but it was served steaming, hot, and freshly made. As more people showed up, it definitely got noisier... so prepare for a bit of a loud environment...pretty much the same situation in all downtown Saratoga restaurants these days. I will definitely go back and try some other items on the menu.
