Heritage propane is a part of AmeriGas, which is one of the largest Gas companies in the country . I would not recommend this company. Their customer service is not good, and you get a lot of running around and being placed on hold. I purchased a new home that had AmeriGas tank, and was going to use their services until I kept getting the runaround. It was even a 20 minute phone call with two different associates and multiple times on hold just to have a pick up request completed. I would recommend Appalachian energy. Terrible. These people gave me a contract with one year maximum price guaranteed and didn't honor it even for the next delivery. When I called them on it they made excuses saying their system wouldn't allow them to change it. After many calls they made an effort, but it was obvious they didn't feel any obligation to honor their word. Last week they notified me there was a "technical difficulty" that kept them from filling my tank. Later they sent another notification saying they couldn't find my tank. This is after years of them filling it. So far I've called 3 times. (It sounds like you are talking to a call center in India). Each time they promised to come out on Tuesday and promised to call before. They lied all three times. I still haven't heard from them. Stay away from these people. read more

I can't even give them one star!!! I've never had such poor customer service. Beware! When you call the local number - in my case Boone, NC - it was answered at a call center in Cleveland, Ohio. I had a tankless hot water heater issue - ie no hot water caused by a gas issue - per error message. They were totally unresponsive. How could someone in Cleveland care about a customer in Blowing Rock, NC??? Answer: They don't! I have switched my account to a local gas provider and they've been unbelievable - Appalachian Energy. The worst on pricing. They charge double what their competitor does under the guise of "good customer service." It's propane. The tank is low. You fill it. It's not brain surgery. Apparently it is if you go by their prices. read more

This is quite possibly the worst run utility company I have ever dealt with, worse even than the cable company! This is the third winter in a row that we have run out of propane, while being subscribed to their "Autofill" program! Their phone number goes to a full voicemail box, with no way to leave a message. Their customer service is basically this: "We will try and get someone out there to you", with no estimate of a time or date. read more

Having dealt with this company for 19 years. I can say their service has gone down considerably. I have often been patient with their delivery time during extreme cold temperatures, and value their efforts to service those who are most in need. However, my complaint is about their "inspection" prior to cold season. I was unfortunate enough to rely on that to get me thru a worry-free winter. Not so, this past season. Their June inspection did not reveal pressure problems which caused slowing down of heating startup until a service call and new part was required. They cannot do service work timely in the winter because they are too busy delivering gas. jmb read more
