What a great find. I didn't even know that drive ins still existed. I thought going to the movies…read morewould be a thing of the past once baby boy was born. We got to see some great blockbuster movies this past summer when the baby was still a few months old and we didn't have a babysitter yet. When you first drive in, bring cash because it's like a dollar cheaper. I believe the first several rows in front are for nonsmoking. You can tune your radio to the station but before the movie starts (at sunset) they play some golden oldies. We tried the drive in with the suv backed in and laid blankets down with some fold up chairs. I think my husband got it right when we took the truck and backed in and set the fold up chairs... Sitting up higher gives you a better viewing of the screen. We went and bought a hand held radio with batteries. Some people stay in the car with the engine running.... But we have seen several cars battery die. They have a very strict rule of no outside food. Some people really complain about that and try to sneak it in. But it's a family run drive in, they probably don't make a lot of money from ticket sales....so not sure why people try to beat the system. Their menu items aren't that bad. It's better and bigger than a regular theater. Chili hotdogs to rootbeer floats. It's always gonna be a two for one showing. Some people don't stay for the second movie so during the 'intermission' people will drive off. It's a great time to get a better spot if you came in late and got a crappy spot. Is it the best cinematic experience? No, but it's a fun switch up for the kids, and an awesome way for new parents to still get to see movies out of the house. Sidenote: Summer's can be hot and lots of mosquitos. Definitely invest in bug spray!!!

We have been coming for years to the Chief Drive In. We have been sick with health issues the last…read morefew months and hadn't been in about a year. We decided tonight to get out enjoy a nice movie under the stars. Our son graduates High School tomrw and we wanted to celebrate with The Mandalorian Movie. First off, the only person who can eat anything they have is my husband. We paid for storm trooper popcorn buckets and didn't even want the popcorn and asked for them not to be filled so the kids could have them to keep as keepsakes for their rooms. We bought the souvenir cup and the one we ended up with grogu was misfiguted. My son took it back in they told him they can take it back. I get that, they could have made it right. We spent $36 to get in and over $70 on the two buckets, two souvenir cups, and a large popcorn bucket for my husband and his dip n dots. I do not know when the quality of the screen and picture got so terrible. We were in the front row and could not make out the characters in the movie. It was extremely dark. My husband went as far as finding a trailer and fast fed to part we were at and the picture was so colorful, yet chiefs was dark and hard to see. One character is red and you could even tell. We ended up leaving 40 mins in bc we were so miserable and couldn't tell what we were watching. Between fuel coming all the way over and concession, we had $200 in this night for graduation and nothing sadly to show for it.The screen and quality needs an overhaul.

They have done well with the re-design of the AMC Robinson Crossing 6, which has been in Robinson…read moreCrossing since I was in middle school, which I assure you is a very long time. It's had some owners that did not give it a proper updating and its condition has suffered as a result. However, I think the current ownership group has invested time and resources into rehabilitating this place and it shows. It's no longer just a dollar theatre or a place to go when closer theatres are sold out. It's a destination in its own right. I saw a film around 6 pm on a Tuesday during summer. It was not busy but it certainly wasn't dead either. There are more your typical concession options, including lots of hot food available. There is also a bar but it was not open during my stay. I'm assuming it's only available on weekends but I do not know that to be the case, that's just my guess. The seating is comfortable but my main issue is that the footrests only elevate several inches. The new stadium seating that is in my most theatres recline to a higher degree. Now, I'm not looking to fall asleep, but I'd like recline more than a foot. That being said, the seat was comfortable, had tables for your concessions, and the middle armrest folded up if you would rather share a small couch or love seat over 2 individual seats. Really hope this place makes it, it would be great for this shopping center and Norman in general. Glad to see it was doing well, hopefully that continues.
