Paws on the Run offers two separate parks, one for the small breeds and the other for the larger kinds. It's spacious and allows your pet the opportunity to run off all that energy while maintaining the safety of your animal and others since it's securely fenced in. They also have a double entrance for extra protection and to avoid a possible escape. Prior to adopting our dog Bella we never took our other dogs to the park since they are Chihuahuas and we have a small area of our own yard fenced that is suitable to their exercise needs. But with a larger pet this park is really a great place to allow her some outdoor leash freedom. The park was built in 2010 as a gift from a local family. I understand they have done a decent amount of updates over the years, like plant trees, provide benches, a dog pool for warmer months, outdoor water source for drinking water as well as some tunnels for agility activities. The park is open year around but with all the rain we have been having the park is a bit of a mud pit. I am excited to take our girl here in the spring and summer months. There are a list of rules patrons of the park are to adhere by but it seems at least one is not exactly being followed. I noticed a LOT of dog doo. I wish pet owners would be more disciplined in cleaning up after their pets. It's not only gross it can spread diseases. Otherwise it's a great park for our furry friends.

I'm sure this park will have even more great features as time goes on since it seems quite new. I'm so happy that I found it! Our lab is sure to have some great playtime adventures here.

There is a bar where we were able to order drinks (also coffee and lighter food). They also have a space inside if you need some air. We'll definitely be back also the doggos can enjoy.

Hound Haus - East Liberty's New All-Day Hangout for You and Your Pup…read moreJust opened in Pittsburgh's East Liberty neighborhood, Hound Haus is a creative new venue that combines a coffee shop, bar, event space, and off-leash dog park--all under one roof. Whether you're looking to get work done with a coffee, wind down with a beer, or let your pup burn off some energy, this is the spot. I stopped in and tried their maple vanilla latte, which was super cozy and comforting--perfectly balanced and not too sweet. I also had a warm muffin that was absolutely delightful. The drinks are crafted with Commonplace Coffee, and there's a rotating selection of prepackaged sandwiches, salads, and baked goods through Catapult Culinary available all day. The space itself is bright, modern, and immaculately clean. You can sit inside or out on the dog-friendly patio, where pups can roam while you relax. Dogs do need to be registered at the front check-in station and must be vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and at least 4 months old. Hound Haus offers daily, monthly, and annual passes--but you don't need to bring a dog to enjoy the vibe. It's a welcoming place for anyone to sip, snack, and socialize (furry friends optional). The owner is incredibly friendly and clearly passionate about creating a space that's both functional and fun. Whether you're a dog owner or just a dog lover, Hound Haus is worth a visit. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
