Perfect for running or gathering, but I didn't see a playground and locals told me this is not a safe neighborhood. No dogs are allowed in the gazebo. --Food/Products-- Open air park with steps that help traverse the grounds going up and down the mountain. --Capacity-- Plenty of space to get through the neighborhood. --Overall-- Only recommended if you are traveling through the neighborhood, but this is just a park and nothing touristy to visit specifically unless you live in the area.

Other years, being pressed for time or working around schedules, I've only had time to run in and grab some take out from the favorites. The Polish tent is by far my favorite as they make the BEST stuffed cabbage I've ever had. Their pierogis are also excellent. I also like the veggie tempura ..(French booth? English.???) It's like Epcot for poor folks! You can eat around the world and try a little something from a ton of different ethnicities. This fair lasts for three days, and has run on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of one mid-August week for as long as I can recall. Opens at 2 or 3pm and typically stays going until 10pm. **Where is it? It's always held at McKeesport's Steven Barry baseball field, catty-corner from McKeesport High School. **What you'll see? GREAT people watching! Lots of ethnic music companies (mainly Tamburitza music). Lots of little kids acting too skanky and too hood (seriously, though). Lots of different booths all around the outfield; each booth represents a different ethnic food/region. **How's it laid out? The infield is set up with a stage (for the performing music companies) at Home plate. The rest of the infield (first base--third base) is a 1/2 circle of chairs arranges so that the old timers and the proud moms and dads can watch their kids on stage doing their dances and playing music. **What's it cost? $2.00 to get in the gate (+Parking, depending on where you choose to park, but the McKeesport High School parking lot is free if ya don't mind a tiny walk). Food varies, but everything is on a dollar/quarter scale, so no worries for the math-phobes out there! lol Cash only!!! **My Faves? Croatian Booth: Lamb! I was reminded of how exquisite nature can be and why we need public parks. Come here and have a picnic with that special person in your life, especially in that nice gazebo I saw. Or just find a bench on a fair-weather day and get mired in a page-turner you borrowed from The Carnegie Library of Homestead across the street. How convenient is that? The Earth Mama wants to make it easy on ya so there's no excuses.
