    Large dog park entrance

Big off leash dog park near the river. Lots of open space for the dogs to run. Soft mulch in the large dog area and plenty of grass in the small dog area. Very clean. Easy parking. Great city views!

Seeing as how I live very close to this trail and I guess park it could be said that I am biased in some ways. I have walked here for many years and seen many wonderful and not so wonderful things happening. Since it is located so close to the Monongahela river there is always a vast array of plant life springing up. I was happy when they decided to put a dog park here when I owned a dog. Growing up with skaters and punk rockers I was also happy when they decided to let graffiti writers do art on some of the blank spaces. This however turned into a free for all in which they started spray painting on everything from trees to walk ways and the worst offenders, signs. Friends of the Riverfront has done a good job to try and curb the unwanted graffiti. Unfortunately, there are big camps of people living along the trail as well. I hate to bring up the bad when there is so much good things happening on this trail. The flora and fauna is really abundant here and I have had the pleasure of spotting lots of city dwelling animals here as well as beautiful flowers and plants of all kinds. It is a great place to bike, walk, jog, skate, boat, roller blade and enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors. At the end of a long day it is also a great place to check out a good sunset. Just please don't be one of the naive ones and get the silly idea that it is a great place to hang out at after dark!

Picturesque serene trail used by many for walking, biking, and doggies alike. Lots of amazing views of the city and river. This was my first time enjoying on a beautiful sunny day. Very therapeutic. Also got to see art from the supportive trails arts initiative through the park which was very cool. Parking was available.

I forgot the name of this bridge.

Right behind the Hyatt House, and it was great to get out and walk around and enjoy the scenery. I loved that it was within walking distance, but I was here in December, and I was freezing! I bet this area is really pretty in spring and fall, but I still thought it was delightful! I didn't walk around the whole thing, as again, cold. But what I did see was really neat! It wasn't crowded at all when I was there, but it was a Wednnesday afternoon in December, so pprobably not the optimun time for a visit! Really neat area, wish I could have explored more but it was awfully cold to this Texan!

The Southside Riverfront Park is a wonderful natural resource and includes both a biking and hiking trail, along with lots of greenery along the Monongahela River from Station Square (starting across from the fountain near the Duquesne Incline) to the Hot Metal (Mon Con) Bridge. It is a great place to get out and enjoy nature in a city setting. There are lots of things to see and do nearby, and I am glad we have such a place in Pittsburgh to enjoy.

S side dog park now! Pathetic

The Dog Park has seen better days. I remember when it opened & how it was a great social time with dogs & neighbors. Now it is overgrown, unkept & visitors are not picking up after their pets. It smells horrible hence the park has fewer & fewer people coming down. I saw one woman who didn't pick up after her dog & asked why. 1. I have no bag. ( I gave her one) 2. Isn't this what this is for? ( I said a park & a toilet are two different places. ) What a pity.

heading down the trail a little, you'll find this little pavilion and a rope swing :)

I just moved to the area and live near this park. I was actually surprised to find a little park right here in South Side. I love the river front trail. it's very quaint & peaceful here for it being South Side, lol. I'm very lucky to have this within walking distance.

Absolutely incredible…read more I don't go to botanical gardens much so I don't really have qualifications to compare or rate any particular place but Phipps blew me away. I like plants. I have some. I thought seeing a bunch of plants might be fun but I wasn't expecting it to be such a wonderful experience! The place is quite large considering most of it is inside. It is organized for a few different environments and a little something for everyone depending on what your floral preferences might be. It took us about an hour and a half to go through the whole thing. Got a lot of pictures. Saw a lot of interesting and cool plants as well as beautiful flowers. Highly recommend this as a stop on any and every Pittsburgh trip.

Pgh Candle & Phipps partnered for an evening at Botany Hall…read more We selected our scented oils and were able to create our own soy candles. The vessel was a lovely shade of green and had some weight. Simple instructions for those of us who were not-crafty. While our candles were solidifying, we were able to go see the Spring show. Lovely evening. Definitely would do again.
