Amazing view of the city, better than grandview ave has a lookout area and a huge park for dogs and kids to play

I came to Grandview Park on Saturday morning for the same reason pretty much everyone comes here, the absolutely incredible view of the city of Pittsburgh. This park is located just north of the city in the hills. Though there is no large entrance from what I gathered you are still able to find street parking pretty easily (at least I was). I did not manage to do all of the trails they had leading to some of the concrete walkout points but the one I did go to had a stunning view of the skyline and everything past it. You could see the bridges, Heinz field, and all the big buildings making this the perfect place to take a walk and escape everything. Whether you live in Pittsburgh or are just visiting like I was, I definitely recommend taking some time out to come and check out Grandview Park, It's definitely worth it!

The view of the city everyone wants, but without all the fuss of Grandview. While taking a walk I wanted to check out the park to see what it had going on. It's not much of a park as much as a landing pad. It has an amazing view of the city and a mini amphitheater that hosts movies, etc in the summer time. It's not that big but has a lot to offer. There are some new houses that are currently being built nearby, but the houses are on either side and not obstructing the view, but could you imagine living there?! I feel like this place is the view of the city the neighborhood wants, that most people don't know about or haven't checked out!

Here is another hidden gem and one of the most magnificent views of the city bar none. Located at the sharp turn at Baily Avenue (right, it's nowhere near Grandview Ave) it's one of those places you could totally miss if you didn't know it was there. Lot of activities here, yoga classes, movies in the park, and more. Lots of benches for relaxing Seems to be a park a lot of people bring their dogs for walking The view of downtown, it's buildings, the rivers, and even Oakland is one of the best in town. Parking can be hard, as it's street parking. Best to walk to the park if you live on Mt Washington.

Beautiful park. Some friends and I stopped by to sled ride. We originally wanted to head to schenley park(flagstaff hill) but someone suggested here instead. It was beautiful. How cool to go on a sled ride with a view!! I'm also excited to visit here for cinema in the park and visiting when it's spring/warm!

Can you believe I've lived no more than 10 minutes from here for nearly 24 years and only visited here yesterday?! I don't know what I waited for! I'm somebody who loves nature and am always trying to find out new spots to visit and this didn't leave me disappointed. At the beginning of Grandview Park, there are some benches, a nice overlook to see the city and a monument in which I'm guessing they use to show movies on for their Cinema-in-the-Park during summertime. The view is awesome! You can see South Side, the city and Oakland. It's cool how different spots in Mt. Washington allow you to enjoy the beautiful view in different ways. However, there were a lot of trees so we couldn't see everything, but still great nonetheless. I also noticed a trail that went down into the woods. Not sure where that leads but it looked pretty interesting! Once you get past the opening, there is a trail that leads to the end of the park where you'll find a park in Allentown neighborhood of the city. The trail is nothing special (or even that big), but it's nice to escape the hustle of the city for 20 minutes or so and be surrounded by green.

Absolutely incredible…read more I don't go to botanical gardens much so I don't really have qualifications to compare or rate any particular place but Phipps blew me away. I like plants. I have some. I thought seeing a bunch of plants might be fun but I wasn't expecting it to be such a wonderful experience! The place is quite large considering most of it is inside. It is organized for a few different environments and a little something for everyone depending on what your floral preferences might be. It took us about an hour and a half to go through the whole thing. Got a lot of pictures. Saw a lot of interesting and cool plants as well as beautiful flowers. Highly recommend this as a stop on any and every Pittsburgh trip.

Pgh Candle & Phipps partnered for an evening at Botany Hall…read more We selected our scented oils and were able to create our own soy candles. The vessel was a lovely shade of green and had some weight. Simple instructions for those of us who were not-crafty. While our candles were solidifying, we were able to go see the Spring show. Lovely evening. Definitely would do again.
