I really like the ambiance at night, when they turn on the neon lights and turn off the regular day lights. Prices aren't that bad at all too, compared to when I went bowling in California in my hometown. The workers there are nice, mostly college students. I didn't try any of the food there so I can't speak for that but overall a great place to have fun!

The Memorial Union's "Rack and Roll" is a play on the phrase 'rock & roll' (which they have playing through speakers), as well as describing exactly what you can do there: shoot billiards ('rack' the pool balls) and go bowling ('roll' the.....well, duh). So the name is (perhaps unintentionally) clever, big deal. But is it still worthy of a 5-star rating? Absolutely. Their pool tables are either in good or great condition, depending on which one you choose, but the lighting is perfectly appropriate for the nature of the sport. The arcade games are excellent as well--they have 2 pinballs, 'Family Guy' and 'Iron Man' (both newer Stern tables in fine shape), in addition to a Guitar Hero Arcade version, high-definition Terminator shoot-em-up, and several others. The bowling area is just as well-maintained, as I've never experienced an issue with balls getting stuck in the gutter, needing a pin reset, etc. The animations that are displayed after a throw (e.g. spare, strike, 7-10 split) are cute, sometimes funny even, and I'm fairly certain that they're student-made on behalf of the college of computery-people. I recall the price to bowl being very reasonable, and often times students can do so for free during special events. I loved coming here as a student to roll (just NOT on Shomer Shabbos), and I'm looking forward to many happy returns as an Alumni. The Union's Rack and Roll is a terrific place to relax in between classes or decompress after a 2-hour differential equations final. "Well, that's like, your opinion, man."

They have lots to do so everyone in your family can do their favorite activity!…read more We had a group of 4 adults and started with putt putt. It is upstairs so those unable to climb stairs may not be able to participate. It was 9 holes of black light ,dark, dinosaur themed fun. You can tell that it's a little outdated as there were lots of pieces broke and the air was one of them, so hot!! We then went into the bar for some drinks to cool down and a couple appetizers. Pretzel bites with nacho cheese and fried pickles. Both were good. The pretzel bites were so greasy that the cheese kept sliding off though. In the area they have axe throwing and table top connect four. Then we bowled. $50/hour/lane. That was a lot of fun! There are robots who bring your food to your lanes - all while jamming to the beach boys surfing USA - which was neat and terrifying at the same time, ha! They have an arcade but we didn't try that out. Plenty of parking and restrooms. Would recommend!

Many games I have not seen at other arcades. Too many crane games which are always at full price. Tried playing a few games but am still learning how to play and win. My go-to is now the Wizard of Oz because I can play for a long time on the bonus game (4 pays). Arcade card costs $1. I filled my card with $20 plus a $5 bonus. Wednesday is half price arcade games, which is the only deal I believe they offer. Lots of exchange options but what would I find useful. We needed help operating the card exchange machines. I wish they offered more deals or coupons.

The exterior wasn't much to look at nor any indicator of how much nicer it is on the inside. There is a lot of parking on both sides of the building. This is one of the few bowling alleys in the area. It has somewhat inconsistent hours of operation as on Wednesdays, only the restaurant is open during the day for a bit from 11 AM-12:30 PM with no daytime bowling. Cannonball Lanes is only open Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with varying hours. Bowling starts at 5:00 each of those days except for Sunday when it begins at 2. I bowled on a Wednesday shortly after they opened at 5 in the evening. It was pretty crowded but still had some open lanes. It was hard to converse with the attendant at the desk nor with a person right next to me as the music was at ear bleeding loudness level. The attendant wasn't especially welcoming. I saw him adding songs to the jukebox as we walked around to scope things out prior to play. I saw no price list posted. I believe it was around $11 for one game and two pairs of rental shoes. I'm assuming that's reasonable these days, but it's far higher than what bowling cost the last time I had bowled. If memory serves, you can also rent a lane by the hour. It wasn't easy to find a provided ball to use as they were spread out and either very light or extremely heavy. I'll search more thoroughly next visit for a better fit. I got a kick out of the typically goofy multicolored bowling shoes. They had Velcro fastenings unlike the shoes I remember from my youth. Thankfully, I have since purchased well fitting bowling shoes of my own. As is the modern way, electronic scoring is provided, so you don't necessarily need to remember how to tally scores yourself. I definitely need some work on my rusty techniques, but I had fun and would like to return. A small arcade was on the premises. They have the restaurant or snack bar I mentioned though I didn't get a look at it. It looks like you can organize parties here for birthdays and the like as well. They have no website, but from what I've seen online, they have summer and winter hours which are subject to change at any time, so it is advised to call ahead before you go if you are in doubt.

The food was good and the bowling was fun. I was pleased with the management. I'm looking forward…read moreto more of both the food and bowling.

Great music, they only have Cosmic bowling on Fridays so come here for the cool cosmic art. We went inside the bar rather than the little window to get a drink. We met our server Melissa inside. My husband and I got to talking with her, & at a certain point we were just having fun bantering with her & others that came into the bar that we didn't even play games! We had so much fun just talking, we will definitely be coming again. Hopefully earlier rather than later, because Melissa is fun as hell to talk to & I'd come back to just hang out at the bar, watch TV & banter with her. The cosmic bowling looked cool, there's a bunch of pool tables & an air hockey station. They also have pizzeria style food(haven't tried yet). We definitely plan to go back, so I will update this when we actually play games. I just thought I should mention the epicness of our bartender, she singlehandedly made our night.

I have been to this location four times in the last four weeks and have met some very friendly people that run the place as well as the bowlers we have bowled with. I bowl on a league in another town and the atmosphere here is of no comparison. If, as another reviewer mentioned, the outside appearance was spruced up they would be a five star in my book and I don't give those out very often. If you find yourself looking for something to do and want to spend your money where you're really appreciated, make a visit to this diamond in the rough.
