Dr. Patel and his team at Heritage did a great job for me in cataract removal. Thank you very much!

Upon my visit on 03-05-2025, I was told that in order to have my insurance cover this visit as a whole (i.e. the claim), the eye pressure test would have to be completed. If this test was opted out of, then I would become a cash pay patient. There are both procedural codes and diagnosis codes, insurance will pay on any submitted claims as long as these services covered by the policy. If a service or test is opted out of, the facility should not submit that on the claim to the insurance company. The so called prescription fee is not necessary of $50 dollars is not required BECAUSE there is no separate insurance billing code specifically for writing a prescription; in most cases, the act of writing a prescription is considered part of an overall patient encounter and is included within the billing code for the office visit (E/M code) itself, meaning you would bill based on the level of complexity of the patient encounter, not just the prescription written. I am currently working w/Aetna insurance (my carrier) to investigate and hopefully pull their contract ASAP. This office should be a shammed of these practices.

This place sucks. First off, they don't take vision insurance. Why? They take health insurance, but…read moreit doesn't matter. I was given the great honor to pay a nice $410 for a freakin eye exam. An eye exam that I told them was for contacts lenses. They registered it as an eye glasses exam. And then instead of just ordering me a 6 month contact lens prescription, they gave me some trial pairs. I ended up just going online to 1-800-contacts to try and order some myself, using the prescription from my exam. But because they put in as an "eye glasses" prescription, 1-800-contacts couldn't use it. So they called this place, who then called me, and I had to verify that I like the stupid little trial contacts. I told them yeah. And then they charged me another $150 just so that the doctor could sign off on the contact lens prescription, and get back to 1-800-contacts so that I could order some. On top of that, this place is located in a crappy area, there's construction going on all around it, so it takes you 40 years to get on to the highway. The only reason I came to this place was because my insurance provider said they were in my network, and they're not.

OnExperience Review My overall experience with this eye…read moreclinic was disappointing and frustrating. From the very beginning, the process felt like being on a conveyor belt--shuffled from room to room, with a different technician each time, and very little personal attention. When it came time to meet the doctor to select my lens, I never received a clear breakdown of the options. Instead, I was given a handwritten note showing only the most expensive and the lowest- priced choices. I wasn't entirely sure what I was choosing but ended up selecting the most expensive option. The second eye surgery was delayed by a week, which pushed back the time I could start using the new lenses. I left the appointment without any instructions for a follow-up. When I called the office to confirm, I was given incorrect information. On my next visit, after going through the same conveyor belt process, a doctor I had not scheduled with examined me and said my eyes were too dry to proceed, requiring another reschedule. The scheduler then informed me there would be no availability for at least a week, possibly longer. By this point, I was very frustrated with the delays. During another appointment, I was not given any prescriptions or priority scheduling, even though the manager had previously said I would receive both. Several other things stood out: * There were no refreshments or snacks offered, despite positive reviews mentioning them. * There is a second waiting room, which I still do not understand the purpose of. * I was recommended to use Miabo eye drops, which my insurance did not cover and which cost nearly $900 for a small bottle. Overall, my experience was poor and left me feeling neglected as a patient. The entire process was disorganized, communication was unclear, and the costs were extremely high--around $9,000 in total. I want to share this so other patients are aware of what they might encounter. counter. Approximate Cost: $9,000 Final Opinion: I cannot recommend this clinic based on my experience. the initial evaluation, I felt like I was on a conveyor belt being shipped from room to room and never with the same technician. Then I was supposed to meet a doctor to choose the lens, he never showed te breakdown of the lens, instead he sent a hand written of my options the most expensive and the lowest, not sure what I had chosen.but I chose the most expensive. On the second eye surgery. I was rescheduled to another week, which extended the time of getting the lens up and working. I left with no instructions to come back. I called the office to see when I was to come back and was given wrong information. After the conveyor belt again, I went to a doctor's office. A person who I had not scheduled with showed up and started looking at my eyes and said we have to reschedule the appointment because my eyes were too dry, for one week. The scheduler said there was no chance for a week and it would be considerably later. I became quite agitated at this point as ''this was taking forever.'' Another appointment, after the evaluation, I was not today given prescriptions and no priority booking my appointment as I was told by the manager I would like address a couple of good reviews, there was no one passing out snacks, there is a second waiting room, which I still don't understand, and they wanted me on Miabo, eye drops, which my insurance did not cover, and the price was around $ 900.00 for a very small bottle. All this made me want to inform customers as this is obviously my opinion. The cost was about approximately $ 9000.00.
